HELP- SET DEVICE PASSWORD

I've been trying to set a password for my account for hours now but no email is sent to my inbox?? Also my spotify is linked to my Facebook account but I don't want to use my facebook to log in to my sporify anymore. Instead I would like to use my username which is 1220260382 but all I need to do now is create a password. I go to my account settings and have the right email and everything, so what's the problem?

Hello there & welcome to the community!
The issue here is that your account is still linked with Facebook.
The numerical username uses Facebook password.
If you change your Facebook password, the Spotify account also does.
Try logging in with the username and your Facebook password.
Hope this helps! ♫

  • HELP SET MY PASSWORD AND NOW IT WON'T RECOGNIZE. WILL DELETE ALL MY DATA PLZ HELP!!!

    Hi there,
    Unfortunately I made the very foolish error of setting up a password on my Blackberry this evening. I typed in (WHAT I THOUGHT) was an extremely easy password. After trying 9 times to type it in (I am on 10th of 10 tries!) I can't figure out what I typed in. I know what I thought I typed in, but apparently it's not working.
    Any help here? Or am I severely screwed?
    The password is three letters long. Does it usually automatically capitalize the first letter?
    HELPP!!

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    With only one attempt left, it is unlikely that we will be able to be of any help. The next time it is entered wrong, your BB will wipe itself clean of all of your data. There is no way to stop it. None. You must get the password correct on the next attempt. There's no way for us to know what password you used...so you must try to see if you can get it right. Don't do what you've already tried...you already know it does not work. Sorry, but it looks like you will be restoring from your most recent backup.
    Best.

  • Toshiba 39L4333DG: help setting WiFi password - cannot find the char ^

    My WiFi 61 chars password contains the char ^ and I can't find it in the onscreen keyboard!
    I tried substituting it with an "upperscore" I never saw elsewhere (thinking it was just a bad font rendering), but it didn't work and a message said I have to input 64 ascii char or I can use the Hex form.
    Does anybody know how to input the ^ char o use the hex format?
    Thanks!!

    Hello MasterG, thanks for your help, but that's not what I needed.
    The problem is my ASCII password is 61 characters long: if I try setting it in HEX form, I need 122 chars, but the onsceen keyboard stops me at char 64...
    So I need a way to input ^ in ASCII form or make the keyboard accept 122 HEC chars.

  • Deactivating facebook, cant set device passwords

    Title says it all. Im aware of the process to deactivating without losing premium, it'd just be cool if.... ya know.,.. it actually worked, or better yet, if I didn't have to do this steaming pile of bull excrement for something so stupid that should be so simple. So I go to get the device username, all that works finethen it says that its going to send me an emailand IT NEVER DOES. I have been trying this for multiple days now. No, it is not in my spam folder, I am not an idiot. Can somebody please help.Itd be cool if the one month I had left didnt have to go to waste Thank you for your time.   EDIT: I have also tried changing my email address to one I use more frequently. note, this worked seamlessly through facebook... but did it change in spotify? of course not! is there another way to change it through spotify? of course not!

    I'm not sure if you can use another mobile device to get a 12-character pairing code.
    You probably have to use a desktop computer to such 12-character pairing code and both computers (devices) need to be online at the same time.

  • Problem with Device Password

    Hi there, I want to use Spotify with my Squeezebox System. I got a trial premium membership and I requested a device username etc.because I have to login via facebook (german account) . But I never received an email with a password. So what can I do?  Thanks in advance André

    Hey! Welcome to the community :)
    The new help pages went live yesterday and there are a few issues to iron out, I have brought this one to the attention of the Spotify team. In the meantime, use the instructions below (which I have stolen from Tivo) to set your device username and device password:
    Click here to visit the Spotify sign in page.
    On the sign in page, click Log in with Facebook. This’ll launch a new window.
    In the new window, enter your Facebook email address and password, and click Log In.
    Make a note of the device username – usually a string of numbers. You’ll need this later to sign in to Spotify on TiVo.
    Click Send e-mail to set password.
    Check the email account you use to sign in to Facebook.
    You’ll have an email from Spotify – open it and click the Set your device password link.
    On the Set a password for your devices page, enter a memorable password and click Set device password.

  • I set a password on my restrictions and now I've forgotten it, silly I know but was trying to keep kids from spending. Please help.

    Please help. I set a password on my restrictions and now I've forgotten it. How can I reset it.

    Follow the instructions in  iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
    Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school enviroment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

  • Q10 Device Password requested while on/no password ever set

    1 month old device. Never set a device password.
    While on, all features started to slow down, mail stopped working, then for the first time I was asked for Device Password. Kept on cancelling, as I did not set any device password, and could continue to use the phone, with a very slow response.
    Removed the battery, switched on, I can now only receive calls/messages, but cannot access any feature of the phone.
    Can you suggest what I can do considering I cannot enter into any setting?
    thanks
    Micaela

    It's very unlikely the phone would add it's own password, It's more likely someone around you.
    My advice would  always be to set a password that way no-one else can.
    The only way to recover now is to enter the wrong password 10 times the data will then get wiped but you will be able to access the phone.

  • I didn't set any password during setup of Lion, but now when I want to download stuff from safari, it asks me for password? plz help

    I bought a new macbook air pre loaded with Lion. while setting up the system, I just input the user name, and didn't set any password.
    But now when I wanna download stuff off safari, it asks me for password. The user name appears (the same one which I set) but it keeps on asking me the password which I never set. Can some one please help me. Thanks!

    I did it like that, but for the purpose of not having to type my password every time since I'm installing a lot of programs, and yes, it asks for the password, but do not type anything and just click "ok" or "install", since you haven't set a password it should let you go through. I guess it asks for the "password" just to let you know it will install something, but just click ok.
    I will set up a password once i have install everything in System Preferences/Users & Groups
    Hope it helps...

    I need help setting up an apple id for my son's phone. It seems his email address has been taken and/or we cant get the password.

    Two different things
    If you forgot the password
    If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
    If the email ID you want to use is in use by someone else - then you may need a new one
    The iCloud ID's are usually unique and may be of help if you set one up

  • "enter device password" but I don't have one set?

    me and my son were testing the picture password thing and got to attempt 6 at which point I was going to do the correct one and start again. But it has now gone from the picture password and asks "enter device password".
    The thing is that I haven't entered one and can't find any details of a default one.
    I really think it should not say you have 10 attempts if you have 5 and then the input system changes. I am away on business and need some critical files. Any help would be appreciated

    as i edited above.
    check your sd card if you have one loaded in the phone which you should as they come with one. your pictures should be on there.

  • On which device do you set the password?

    I have a AP Express g connected to a Extreme n. Because I am using the AP Express g, I understand I need to use WEP security. My question is when using Airport Utility, do I set the password on the Extreme n using "WEP (Transitional Security Network)" or do I first set a password on the Express g then match that password on the Extreme.
    Thank you in advance.
    Robert

    Robert,
    You don't need to have the same password for each device. You can have a different password for all your devices if you choose, however, it is easier to have the same password for most of us.
    It doesn't matter which one you first set a password for.
