Help!  Started getting No Service Vodafone NL last night.

I started getting this last night.  I also get Mobil Network Unavailable or possible invalid MMI Code. 
I have tried the following:
- Rebooting
- Shutting down and restarting
- Hard boot (removing battery with phone on
- Removing battery with phone off
- Dialling *228 and trying to select option 2
Any help at this poing would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out to us about this issue. I want to confirm your current location. May I ask are you in the Netherlands? If so, have you  contacted us prior to your travel to have the global services activated on your device? If you are using a Verizon Wireless SIM card while in Europe on your Incredible 2 then please verify that the global setting is active on the device. I have the steps listed below.
1.  Press Menu & select Settings
2.  Select Wireless & Networks
3.  Select Mobile Networks
4.  Select Global Mode
If the steps above have been verified to be correct in the device and you are still experiencing lack of service, then encourage you to call our global support team. The number to call while roaming internationally is 908-559-4899. Calling us from another phone other than you cell is preferred. We look forward to hearing from you so we can get your service restored.

  • Need Urgent Help With Getting Intl Service from Bangkok

    Before I arrived in Bangkok, I spoke with Verizon CS from the US because I needed Intl Service on my Iphone 4. My boyfriend has an Iphone 5 and was able to add a calling plan in 5 minutes of calling Verizon CS. I then called Verizon CS, and was told that my Iphone 4 cannot be used in Thailand. I told the CS Rep that my boyfriend just added the service on his Iphone 5, and did the same on a trip to Thailand last year with an Iphone 4. She told me that with an Iphone 5 he also cannot use the service in Thailand without a Sim Card or Global Phone? I then put him on the phone with her, and they spoke for ten minutes about this before my plane departed.
    I have been in Bangkok since 04MAR14 trying to reach Verizon by web, Instant Chat, phone, and even called Verizon 611 from my boyfriend's handset. he call Failed! He then gave me this number to call Verizon Global Support: 908-559-4899. I have called this number numerous times from the hotel. The recording does not recognize when I "Press 1" or "Press 2", and proceeded to hang up on me several times. Is there no human at Verizon that help me????? I have spent approx 3 hours now trying to contact Verizon since 04MAR14. I am supposed to be enjoying my vacation here. Can someone please address these questions immediately?
    1. Am I currently being charged to use WIFI in Thailand?
    2. I transited Tokyo on 03MAR, and tried to call Verizon Support from my Handset, which Failed. Am I being charged for that?
    3. What message do my contacts receive when they text me in the US?
    4. Can I activate message response to contacts in the US now telling them that I am out of the country until the evening of 11MAR14?
    Please help me, I am extremely frustrated, as I desparately want Phone service here in Thailand, and I am transiting back to Tokyo on 10MAR14, arriving there at 245pm, and I will need Phone service there as well.

        I'm so sorry you haven't been able to get any service while traveling NancyStuckInThaiWithNoService, as well as for not being able to get a hold of anyone to assist you. I'm happy to answer your questions here. As you mentioned, the iPhone 4 is not a Global phone. Therefore, you can only use on a CDMA network, (not GSM). Thailand is GSM/Global, Japan/Tokyo is CDMA; therefore, you can use phone there. (It could be settings were not set correctly to use in Tokyo.
    1. If you're using WiFi, there is no charge. Its best to turn Mobile Data off in Settings to avoid any International charges.
    2. Japan/Tokyo calls are $1.99/minute. However, if trying to reach Global Support, you will not be charged.
    3. Your contacts don't receive any notification when they text you. They may get some alert days later, that the message was not received by you/ or it has been timed out, but it won't say why.
    4. If you're able to use another phone, and call your mobile number, you can press # when you hear your voice mail greeting, enter password, then # again, to change personal greeting. You're able to update greeting with notification that you're traveling.
    ** When back in Tokyo, you can go to Settings & make sure Airplane Mode is OFF. Also, you can go to General, (from Settings),> Network> Cellular Data- ON> Data Roaming- ON.***

Following the instruction found on Apple website, I installed OSX Mavericks starting at around 11pm last night, it's 10:25am now, yet it is not yet finished. My question then is how long does it take really to do the upgrading? Or is there anything else that I missed out? One thing sure, my macair13 is compatible with OSX Mavericks.

    depends on your ISP connection speeds, on a 10mbs connection at around 6gig download, it takes around 40 mins to 1hr and half.

  • Help!! I downloaded the update last night, and now my phone wont even turn on!

    I downloaded the update last night for my Pearl Flip, and it did the usual (turn on/turn off) during the update.
    When it was finished it turned off-figured it had to reboot to take effect-now it has a new hour glass on the main screen when you open it up, and wont get past the 'app world error' reset page.
    It thinks/thinks/thinks and takes me about 20-30min to get the error. I've done the reset it asks me to (mainly b/c thats the only option).
    So I think it's reseting, then I get the same darn thing. HELP

    Yikes...a 200 error...while the official KB for that is not presently available, the usual fix is to reload your OS...something during the update did not go right.

  • When I touch the sift key a noise is made and sometimes it will capitalize my letter and sometimes it will capitalize all the letters.  This just started happening this morning after upgrading last night.

    When I try to use the sift key to capitalize a letter if makes a sift type noise.  If I hold it down too long it makes the sift noise 3 times and then it doesn't capitalize but leaves the letter in lower form, ex: i instead of I.  This just started this morning after downloading mountain lion last night.  I had snow leopard previously.  How do I turn this off?

    Sounds like the computer or harddisk sustained damage. I would try booting off the OS disk and restoring from your backup. If the computer won't boot from the OS disk then I would replace the computer and reintall from your backups to the new computer. Send the damaged computer in for evaluation.

  • Water Damaged iPhone, turns on, no service, but worked last night, not this morning?

    So on Monday, I dropped my iPhone in the toliet after using the bathroom. I had never dropped any phones in water before so didn't know the steps to take afterwards. I kept the phone on and used it, shaking all the water out of the dock, til it shut off. By this point, I thought the phone was done.
    Later that night, I put the phone in a bag of rice and had it sit there til the next morning. I plugged the phone in, and it turned on, but I didn't have any service. The date and time were also messed up too.
    But Tuesday night, I plugged it in, turned it on, and I HAD service! It was working just FINE! The screen did show water spots so I answered my texts, turned it off, and put it back in rice,
    Yesterday and this morning, I turned it on again, and I have no service again.. So what should I do? Keep it in rice and hope for the best? Tuesday night it was working PERFECT! Such a disappointment because I thought I fixed it
    Has anyone successfully fixed their iPhone using IFixIt? I looked it up on there and I think I can do it myself.

    not work. Out of Warranty replacement for iPhone 4 is $149 US,
    adjust for your location.
    The iPhone may work sporadically, but the water caused permanent
    damage and the iPhone will die sooner rather than later if it starts up
    again.

    The charge symbol wont turn on or anything. It wont turn on when i plug it into my laptop either.

    Try:                                               
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable       
    - Try on another computer                            
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • No network all of a sudden. 4g all last night and up until 10am and then it quit again. Same thing yesterday.

    Starting yesterday around noon I noticed my phone has been going to no reception.  Once every 30 minutes it will pick up a 3g for about 10 seconds then go away.  It just started up again around 10am.  Last night I got full 4g around 10pm up until 10am this morning.  What is going on?  I have called in and they had me restart. take out my sim card. stitch to lte from global and back again.  I noticed our wifi card was also going out of service however my moms iphone was still getting service when the wifi card and my galaxy 4 was not working.  Is this a network issue?  I have a new sim card coming in the mail but I feel like that is not the problem.

  • Nation-wide broadband outage last night??

    My service went off last night at 7pm and stayed off.  On calling technical support this morning I was told that the whole of the UK suffered the outage.....is this true? 

    I live in Manchester(0161) and my broadband and BT Vision went off at just after 11 am Saturday morning.On phoning the BT Status line I was informed that BT was aware of a temporary problem and this message would be updated when the problem was fixed.Two updates at around 3pm and 5pm followed but the problem had still not been fixed.On phoning the BT tech help line around 7pm the automated message informed me there was a "major incident".Finally My Broadband and BT Vision came back on at 11.30pm.All I can say it's a good job I also have Sky + HD (Sky World)

    Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
