Help stop Dmailer app from launching

I downloaded an application called Dmailer (http://www.dmailer.com/) but then decided I didn't want it and deleted it from my Applications and Downloads folders. However this application still launches automatically whenever I start up my iMac. Any ideas how to stop this?

Not sure if this will help but I had a similar problem with a software product on start up. If you go into:
system preferences
accounts
login items
then deselect Dmailer. However not sure if it will show up there if you have already deleted it.

Does anyone know how to prevent the default application for video from lauching when I choose to open a video file? The default program doesn't want to play my mkv files despite the manual saying this is a supported file type. Or, is there something I can do to these video files before uploading them to my Playbook to increase the chances of them playing?
The default program does see those files and even shows the in-play type icon which would indicate that it CAN read them but when I try to open that file, it claims the file type is not supported.

1024*600 resolutions are perfect videos to play on playbook. You can convert the videos and upload it. I prefer you to convert it to mp4

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

you can't reverse the process, once you accepted there is no other way, if you sync it to your itunes library in your computer it will automatically update the updated app as well.
What you can try though is delete the app from your iPad and try syncing it to your itunes library but if you set up iCloud it may update the app automatically

Several point :
1st : do you select "auto relaunch" application when you close ML last time? don't do that next time
2nd : in system preferences/Users and Groups look at applications that are selected for automatic opening. You can remove application. Tab called "Open At Login"
3rd : have a look at /Library/LaunchDeamons/
4th : buy Lingon

Removing apps from launch pad

Does anyone know how to remove an App from the launch pad that isn't downloaded directly from the apple store such as products from Microsoft office? I know that with app's downloaded directly from the App store all you have to do is press Option+ X. However with programs such a outlooks from Microsoft office 2011 which i don't want in the launch pad the X does not show up.

Open Terminal and type:
sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db "DELETE from apps; \
DELETE from groups WHERE title<>''; DELETE from items WHERE rowid>2;" \
&& killall Dock
Then, open Applications and drag to Launchpad icon all the icons except the ones you don't want to appear

I have tried to delete the Virtual Friend Finder from the launch pad!! I have tried dragging it to the trash and then clicking and holding icon till it shook and got the x in the corner to delete and nothing!! It always ask do I want to delete I say yes and yet it still stays on launch pad I want to get rid of it though anymore ideas!!!

Find the actual original file that the alias points to.
If you click and hold on the icon there is a pop up (drop down) list of Options.
If you have trouble with uninstalling whatever the app is, either look to see if the installer will, or just drag to trash.
Most applications are in /Applications folder.
you are not in notebook territory though.
And you do want to brush up on how to use Mac OS probably.
Uninstalling apps from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch are of course different.

Too bad. When I had a Droid there was an app that you could set which apps to quit and which to leave running. Just convenient rather than having to go through the apps bar repeatedly and quit apps individually. It is not an intrusion to control the phone or quit other running apps... it's my choice... Ooops! My mistake. Forgot that I no longer have free will in what I do. The Company knows better.

MacUpdate.com for OnyX or TinkerTool, one of those has the ability to lock the Dock so no changes occur, basically giving you what you want.

How can I stop the default in iTunes that is set to update iPod automatically. When you connect your iPod to your computer, iTunes opens, then transfers selected songs in your library and playlists to your iPod, and erases songs from iPod that aren't in the iTunes music library. Is there any simple way to overwrite this default setting and stop my songs from erasing just because they are no longer stored in the iTunes library???

Ok, what am I missing here? My iPod shuffle options in iTunes doesn't have an option to do manual sync vs autosync.
The only options I see are:
"Open iTunes when this iPod is attached"
"Keep this iPod in the source list"
"Only update checked songs"
"Convert higher bitrate songs to 128 kbps AAC for this iPod"
"Enable disk use"
That's it. Nothing about auto/manual sync. I wish it did. That way it wouldn't delete my songs when I forget to turn on my external hard drive (with my music files on it) before I plug it in to charge.
