HELP!! STUDIO 8

My team is developing graphics for use in Afghanistan and
we're trying to aquire the Creative Suite CS2 ME(Middle-Eastern
Edition).
I've got all the contacts I need and a trial version of
Photoshop CS2 and it works great typing Pashto scipt from Right to
Left (RTL) rather than LTR as it is in North America and Europe.
We're planning on using Dreamweaver and the entire Studio 8
package for web design but we're not sure if there is a Middle-
Eastern. my question is, is there a MIddle-Eastern Version of
Dreamweaver.
Thanks in Advance
Hago

  • HTML Help Studio?

    Hello,
A forum search didn't return any results, so apologies if
this has already been asked and answered:
Where do I find the "HTML Help Studio"? We have a CHM that we
need to decompile as we no longer have the project itself, and the
instructions in RoboHelp Help indicate that this should be an
    option on the Tools window.
However, I am not seeing this under Tools, nor under any
    other menu option.
EDIT: We are using RoboHelp 7.
    Thanks!

You can also decompile outside RoboHelp, using hh.exe which
    is part of Windows.
Open a command shell and navigate to the directory containing
the CHM to decompile (you may want to place a copy somewhere easy
    to type like C:\test).
    Give the command:
    hh -decompile scratch MyHelp.chm
This will decompile the CHM file into a directory called
scratch. The directory will be created if it does not exist, and
files will be overwritten if they exist.
What this procedure does not give you is the project file
MyHelp.hhp; there are various tools which attempt to reconstruct it
but none seems to be perfect.
BTW I have RoboHelp 7.02.001 and HTML Help Studio is in View

  • Migration Assistant. extra User, double the files - only 10 GB left on HD

I restored my system after a login "freeze", following an upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard.  Apple help advised to use Migration Assistant to back up everything from Time Machine.  Now I have an extra user ID (as they said I would) but the file structure doubled!  This leaves me only 10GB on a 500GB drive - which I read is not good.  Do I wipe the drive and start over but instead restore files one by one, or do I delete all the files in the new user ID, or is there some other idea I should consider?  It appears there are dups of all the files from user to user, but I fear they are linked and deleting one will delete the other.  Help.

    Studio B player wrote:
Apple told me to go back to the originally supplied OS X (Leopard 10.5.x), then use the Snow L upgrade disc - is this really required ?
Yes, because your machine came with 10.5, there is a free iLife suit on the 10.5 disks that is not on the 10.6.3 retail disks.
BTW the 10.6.3 disks have the full 10.6 on it too, just no iLife. So you could have installed 10.6.3, Software Updated and installed another iLife if you needed it.  A option to keep in mind for the future if the 10.5 disk no longer boots.
Last question ( for now;), what about apps I've downloaded (no disks)?
You need to download new copies from original sources. Your basically rebuilding your machine from the ground up to be reliable. If you have licenses, just email the developer and tell them your TM drive got screwed up, you had to rebuild your machine from scratch and need a new license code.
Programs need to be installed in most cases with the developers installer as they can place files in certain locations on your computer, including copy protection methods etc.
Once you have your brand new pristine system, then clone that to a couple of new blank external drives, date them, leave one as original, the other you set to update by tweaking CCC's settings to clone/backup according to your preferences.
    Good Luck.

  • RoboHelp chm to Word doc

How can I convert a RoboHelp chm file to a Word document? I am working with RoboHelp HTML 6.
Is there any free software that does this?
    Thanks,
    Judy

    Hi Judy.
A quick google of "CHM to Word" reveals many freeware/shareware applications for this purpose. I'm not sure of the results though. I suspect some shareware apps have a watermark on them in the trial versions. If none of these meet your requirements, you could decompile the CHM using the HTML Help Studio tool in RH6. From this you can create a new project and import the HTM files from which you could use the Printed Documentation single source layout to create your Word document.

  • Decompiling chm, opening hhp in Robohelp, 2 questions

Hi, I've been looking through the forum posts, as well as on Peter Grainge's web site under Reverse Engineering, and I haven't quite found the answers to some questions I have about turning a chm file into a RoboHelp project.  Any help with the following would be much appreciated.
    Background
Our .net API developers use ndoc (which I've never used) to generate a chm file for each API. I received a copy of one of the chm files. Kind of looks like a handy dictionary, in the same spirit as Man pages, with definitions of methods, elements, types, and syntax.  Useful for what it is. But there's very little in the way of context or "big picture".
What is missing is an overview, method examples, a discussion of the business rules and constraints that the developer needs to keep in mind for each method, and so on.  As the tech writer, I'm tasked with adding the missing info as well as clarifying some of what's already there.
The final help documentation needs to be useful to developers, QA testers, or even a PM who wants to have a general understanding of what the methods do, what data is used, and so on.
So, I thought maybe I could just pull the chm information into a RoboHelp 8  project and augment it with additional text, topics, etc.
    What I Tried
After reading Peter's reverse engineering info, I opened RH8 and used HTML Help Studio to decompile the chm file I received.
However, when I opened the resulting hhp file in RH8, all of the topics were on the same level, unlike in the original chm file.
No nice hierarchy. Plus there was no TOC or index.
I then thought I would try Pete Lees' suggested method of recovering the TOC and index, as a start toward fixing things, but since I did not see two hhc and hhk files in my project, I couldn't use that method.
I then tried decompiling the chm using Keytools, but the results were the same when I looked at the project in RoboHelp.
    My Questions
    1. Before I spend more time on this, am I even on the right track, thinking that the way to go is to take API Development team's chm files and turn them into RH8 projects that I can doctor up? Or am I overlooking a better alternative?
    2. Is there another way to recreate the topic hierarchy, TOC, and index after decompiling the chm file and then opening the hhp file in RH8?
Thanks again for any and all help.

I think you are on the right track.
    TOC AND INDEX
You should be able to recover those. Check the detail of my article. Post back if no joy.
    HIEREARCHY
It is a while since I have done any reverse engineering so I would have to test whether or not the hierarchy is maintained. I thought it was but not sure.
It maybe there was no hierarchy in the source. You don't need one to create a TOC with hierarchy so are you sure the developers had one? I suspect they may well have ignored niceties like that. If so, you would either have to live with that or undertake it manually.
    FUTURE
Have you considered how you will maintain this arrangement when the product is upgraded? I guess you could reverse engineer the CHM you are given and then import the topics you need, provided they don't need too much massage.

  • Multiple gateway & split gateway

    Simple question.
Is the multiple gateway used when the same copies must be passed to different users in the same time. And each user cannot view the copy or result modified by other users.
Is the split gateway used when same copies will be sent to different branches. Users in the same role can view the copy?
Oracle BPM 10.3 Help Studio Reference does not give very detail information
Edited by: YE on Apr 22, 2009 2:33 PM

    Hi Ye,
    Yes that's one scenario.
A Multiple activity (called "Split-N" in releases before Oracle BPM 10g) is used in three scenarios:
    (1) Voting design pattern - It's fairly common to want to form a committee at runtime of participants. The size of the committee can be a decision made at runtime. A copy of the work item instance is assigned to each of the people on the committee. Each participant has a "vote", but cannot act on the other committee member's work item instances votes since the instance is assigned to each person specifically using participant.next for the copied instance.
    (2) RFP design pattern - The companies responding to the proposal are assigned the instance typically as the copied instance flows into an activity that is inside a parametric role. The parametric role in this example would be based on the supplier's name so only people in that supplier's company can respond the the proposal.
    (3) Changing granularity of a work item instance. Although not suggested for work item instances that can break down into hundreds of individual work items, it is a simple technique to have a single batch job (e.g. batch of claims coming in) and breaking this down into its invidual components (e.g. each individual claim would become a separate work item instance inside the Multiple / Join).
In the first two patterns above, the end user participants involved would not have access to instances in other copies spawned by the Multiple activity.
Use Multiple when you're using any of these patterns and the number of copies spawned is determined at runtime.
A Split activity on the other hand is used when you do not need to determine the number of copies spawned at runtime. There is always more than one transition coming out of a Split activity. A copy of the instance variable flows through each of the unconditional transition leaving the Split and through each of the conditional transitions that evaluate as true coming out of the Split.
Whether you decide to assign a specific copy of a work item instance coming out of either a Multiple or Split to a specific end user is based on your need inside the process. Assigning a work item instance to a specific participant can be incredibly useful, but it is an option that can be used anywhere inside a process. It is not a requirement of either the Multiple or Split activity.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan

  • Easiest way to create h2s and h3s in Robohelp 8

I've created my toc book in RoboHelp 8, but having a tough time determining how to drill down
in the topic further than an H2 - I would like to create H3's - but not having luck yet......
    How do you do this?

    Hi there
I have no clue as to how Help Studio works. It seems many of the Help Authoring Tools (HAT) out there operate in different ways.
In RoboHelp, we have individual HTML pages. Each of these is known as a Topic. You also have a Table of Contents (TOC). You may have RoboHelp build one for you or you may build it yourself. You do either using the Table of Contents pod. The Table of Contents is represented by Books and Pages. Think of these as you would a Web Page. They are simply links to the HTML Topic pages.
    Does that help any?

  • I got stuck on "Getting Started" guide

I'm obviously new to C++. Sorry, for a question that might seem obvious to you.
I can compile the Helloworld project. I cannot get it to run.
I can not complete the instructions for the "Visual C++ template." I've copied the file and folders to they're appropriate places. Visual Studio gives me an error when I'm trying to create the project.
I did compile the Annotator sample and it did run properly.
I started out with Visual Studio 2008. I'm also trying the Visual Studio 11 beta... even more problematic.
I've downloaded the SDK twice. Thinking something may have been corrupted.
Has anyone gotten this to work with Visual Studio 2008?
Is there a problem with one of the template files or is there something wrong with the instructions or is there something wrong with my brain?
    thank you for your help,

Studio 2011 might be problematic. I haven't given that a try yet (no reason to at our end since we're stuck on 2005 for the forseeable future anyways). And its not officially supported by the SDK yet. Not sure if it will be until a fair bit in the future (though I'm not saying its not doable, it probably is).
Honestly, I've always just taken a good sample project and modified it to be my basis. If you open up the vcproj (or whatever the extension is in 2008) and .sln, you can just do search & replace on 'annotator' or whatever the project is called to give a name you like Then you just change the name in code and once it all compiles you can make your own plugin. Its honestly easier than building one from the template. At least, I find it that way.

  • RH7: import HTMLHelp

We have cracked our skulls because of this one, and now we
are afraid that this is just a really dumb question.
Simple scenario (and this also happens with other scenarios
    of course):
    In RoboHelp 7 HTML:
    1) create a new Microsoft HTML Help project
    2) create Single Source Layout > Microsoft HTML Help
    3) start HTML Help Studio (included in the Toolbox), and open
    and extract the CHM file
    4) close the project
    5) import Microsoft HTML Project
RoboHelp will prompt for a HHP (HTML Help Project) file.
However, RoboHelp itself does not seem to create one, when
inspecting the created CHM file (in Microsoft HTML Help, or after
    extracting it).
In contrast, we distinctly recall that at some point in time,
we managed to import some HTMLHelp file succesfully (although the
map keys did not make it, but that is alright).
What are we doing wrong? Can RoboHelp really not even import
    its own CHM files?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi, Pet3689,
The project (.hhp) file isn't compiled into the help file
unless you add it to the baggage, so it's not usually recoverable.
However, the freeware utility KeyTools can generate a fairly close
approximation of the .hhp file when you use it to decompile a help
file, so that may be an option to look at.

  • Chm to pdf

    Dear all,
My Manager has provided me a chm file and asked me whether a
pdf can be generated using this chm file.
    Note:
However she does not know, in which software has this chm
    file been generated.
I did the following steps (using Robohelp 6) to generate pdf
    from this chm file.
    1. Using HTML Help Studio Tool in Robohelp i extracted all
the files from the chm file.
    2. After Extraction, i got HHP file (hope this is prepared
using HTML Help Workshop). I opened the same in robohelp.
    3. But when I open the htm file (topic), in Robohelp which
has been extracted from this chm file, only notedpad is getting
    opened.
    4. Then i just used Convert to pdf option to generate the
    pdf.
Kindly clarify me the following questions:
    1. How can the topic be viewed in RoboHelp WYSIWYG.
    2. When i open this generated pdf, certain internal links
were not working.. Am i using the right procedures to generate the
    pdf from this chm file.
    Thanks with Regards,

    hi peter,
Thanks for the details. I went through your site.
When i create my printed pdf, i face the following issues:
Only Bookmarks created for internal links are not working.
When i extracted the source files, the following folders were
    present in my project.
    Folder File
    ====== ======
    Associative links property
    keywordlinks property
files all images, stylesheets and .fpj file were present in
    this folder
NFO again some images and .fpj file were present
When i opened the HHP file in robohelp 6, all the images were
copied into my baggage file automatically, and images directory was
created in the project Tab and all these images were pasted into
    it.
I've also added *.stp file into my baggage.
In my printed documentation, properties, I chose the option
    Images>Embeded in documents.
However, When i create my printed documentaiton some internal
    links were not working.
I've also chosen "Retain hyperlinks option also
I'm not clear on the file created under Associative links and
Keyword links. It is just present in my project folder.
Pls help me where am i going wrong.

  • Printing Tip of the Day

    Hello All,
My co-worker is beginning the process of learning RoboHelp
X5. He finds the Tip of the Day very useful, and prints the topic
daily. Can he print the entire Tip of the Day file? If so, how?
    Cheers,

Hi CR01. Yes there is a way of them doing this. Navigate to
the Robohelp sub-directory where RH has been installed and you'll
find a file called TIPODAY.CHM. Now the trouble is that you can't
print multiple topics but if you could print them all one at a
time. Alternatively, decompile its contents using the HTML Help
Studio tool, create a new project, import the .HTM files, compile
and then print all the contents.

  • CHM integration into HTMLHelp

Well for the moment, I have discarded the idea of migrating
to Sandcastle - now I'm looking at going the other way. Sandcastle
can output a CHM and I know I can import CHM
topics through the HTML Help Studio (X5 utility), but what I
would like to do is extract and imbed the
whole thing in my HTML project so that the external CHM
becomes just another "book" in my TOC with the same chapters and
    sub-topics as the original CHM.
I'm on RH X5. Is there an easy way to do this?
    Thx,
    Keith

    Keith,
The most straightforward solution would be to configure your
Base .chm file so that the Sandcastle-generated .chm merges
seamlessly into it at run time. That's to say, in the table of
contents (TOC) for the Base .chm file, you'd add a link to the TOC
in the Sandcastle .chm file. And you'd also need to modify the
project settings for the Base .chm file so that the index and
full-text search information for the Sandcastle .chm file are
    merged into it.
Although neither is RoboHelp-specific, the following articles
give a good overview of the procedures involved:
    http://helpware.net/htmlhelp/how_to_merge.htm
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms524251(VS.85).aspx
The result will be that, even though you're delivering two
help files, the user will perceive them as a single, unified help
    system.

    Hello,
I am having Visual Studio 2012 and SQL Developer 4.0 installed on my system with Windows 8 - 64bit
I want to shift a VS project with an SQL database connectivity to another new Laptop (above mentioned) ...
I have the project opened in VS without bieng connected to the database..
I have a backup file of the database (which needs to be restored to a new created database on SQL Developer)
    The problem:
I am unable to create a server connection in SQL Developer which will allow me to create a new database followed by the recovery from backup file.
I am getting the following error message when I try to create a connection:
Status: Faliure - IO error: The network adapter could not establish a connection
Please help me in setting up a server connection and adding a new sql database

The error message seemed unfamiliar to me and since I had never heard of SQL Developer before, I went to Google. Google might be pulling my legs, but it appears that SQL Developer is related to Oracle. This forum is devoted to SQL Server, so you are in the
    wrong place.

  • Help needed with Sun Java Studio Creator and EJB in a Portlet Project

    Hi
I have created an web-application with JSF in Sun Java Studio Creator 2. The web application uses a lot of EJB's which acts as the dataProviders. In a typical jsp page i have more that one data providers(the EJB's) getting used. When i run the project everything opens up properly in the browser and the application seems to be fine.
But when i create a JSP 168 Portlet project and do exactly the same thing for some reason the Apache Pluto(comes as the default Portlet Container with Studio Creator) conks off.
Then i started going ahead step by step:
    1. First i created a portletpage and added only one dataProvider(EJB) and ran the project...It gets deployed properly in Pluto and the browser comes up and everything shows up fine.
    2. Just to re-confirm i did the same thing with another dataProvider(EJB). So still we have just 1 EJB in the portlet page. As expected it also worked fiine.
    3. Then when I added more that one dataProviders(EJBs) in the porlet page the Apache Pluto conks off(saying that Pluto is not available)
I tried doing a lot of things but nothing works...Surprisingly the same thing works when u create a JSF web Application project but the same thing does not work when u create a JSR 168 JSF Portlet Project...
Did anybody face the same problem..Is it a bug in the Studio Creator...Any help would be highly appreciated.
