Help! Support for MSI-K8NGM-V board
I have this mobo for two months now.. and im regretting it...
The reason i choose this mobo is because of the chipset: nvidia 6100
The reason why I'm frustrated about this mobo is that I can't overclock it...
Is there a way?
Can I do it by flashing the BIOS?
There seems to be less support from MSI for this mobo.
Also, i have a 2xDDR400 modules but when i used Aida32 it is showing that it is DDR333...
Any insight would help.. TY
-V series boards are 'Value' boards, and not really aimed at overclockers; there certainly won't be any overclocking features in BIOS, though you may be able to use software tools to acheive this.

First I don't think you or anyone should put up with having only 3 channel memory when they paid for 4. If the board or CPU are faulty they should be replaced.
You can start with MemTest86 or MemTest86+. MemTest86 has multi CPU test option that is more real life like, I don't know about MemTest86+, haven't used it for quite long time.
Before using Prime95, make sure you have CPU/Core temperature monitoring software such as RealTemp, Core Temp, HWiNFO, or CPUID HWMonitor.
Prime95, I assume th 64-bit version, but this create a lot of heat, what cooler do you have?
You can choose to run 6 threads instead of 12, it should be stressfull enough, also you can add the line Code: [Select]
CpuSupportsFMA3=0 to local.txt to disable FMA3 instructions that are more stressful on the CPU but not necessarily on memory.
If it is still too hot (>70c) add Code: [Select]
CpuSupportsAVX=0Do not close the window to stop the test, select exit from the file menu.
Or you can try OCCT which is all-in-one, stress + monitoring in one program. Select Large Data Set to stress memory. It also runs somewhat cooler than Prime95.
trust me i agree i talked to msi support and got no help they just kept telling me they know about the issuse and should have a fix for it soon, But yet i have seen many people say they have the same problem over 5 months now....... So i just talked to amazon and they said no problem they will give me a refund so now i need to find a good board to work with my i7 5820k 2011-3 pcu -
Blue screen of death help needed for MSI PM8PM-V motherboard
I am having sudden pc hang up (BSOD) and have failed to troubleshoot by myself after searching through internet resources on this topic. Will greatly appreciate any help with this.
The recent changes to my PC are:
-changed the PSU
-flashed my BIOS
-updated my drivers.
That is when the BSOD problem started. I tried drivers from MSI and VIA but both gave BSOD problems.
My PC specs are:
-Windows XP Pro Ver 2002 (SP3)
-PM8PM-V motherboard
-Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80 GHz
-960 MB RAM
-CoolerMaster 460W PSU
-Pheonix AwardBIOS v6.00PG
-153.38 GB IDE HardDisk
-BenQ DVD-RW
-Buffalo wireless LAN
-Onboard graphics and sound
Drivers (in chronological order):
-Installed from MSI
--P4M800_V30003
--VIA4in1_MB
--Realtek_AC97_MB
--Realtek_Gigabit_LAN_MB
--VIA8237_LAN_Driver_MB
-Installed from VIA
--VIA_HyperionPro_V524A
--VIA_FalconIDE_V280C
--wIShld
--Vinyl_V700b
I removed unused drivers from my hardware profile after this.

Closing open log file c:\debuglog3.txtI've done the 20x Memtest. No errors...
Meanwhile, my pc gave the BSOD again when I pressed the shutdown button.
Btw, is the minidump text of any use? I read elsewhere that this can pinpoint to the problem, but I don't know how to read it.
Anyway, here's the latest minidump text, if this is of use.
Thanks!
* Bugcheck Analysis *
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 000000b2, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000001c, IRQL
Arg3: 00000000, bitfield :
bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: 804fa276, address which referenced memory
Debugging Details:
ADDITIONAL_DEBUG_TEXT:
Use '!findthebuild' command to search for the target build information.
If the build information is available, run '!findthebuild -s ; .reload' to set symbol path and load symbols.

Nokia N80 support for MSI Blueplayer
Hi,
I have a Nokia N80, and a pair of i-tech bluetooth stereo headphones.
I have been waiting in hope for about 6 months now that MSI would support the N80 in Blueplayer. on the 17th of June a SDK 3.0 version came out which actually runs on the N80, but sadly it cant play to the headphones - it says "MP3 playback is not supported".
Does anyone know when the N80 will finally be supported in blueplayer?
Thanks,

There's a good possibility that as this is a user-to-user forum, and no-one from MSI visits here, there are no answers yet, or nobody is able to help you yet. In that case, your best option is to contact MSI Support themselves, and see if they can help you with your problem.

Looking for recommendation on graphics card for MSI H67MA-E45 board
This board doesnt have an adjacent psi-e slot, so any card that requires that is out right ?
So the HD 5770 is out ?
Any suggestions ,looking for something at least as good as a GTS 250.But not looking to break my budget either.Would like ,but dont need dx 11support
Thanks for any help .Some of these cards list as- Required Peripheral / Interface Device- CD-ROM, adjacent PCI slot...
So all that means is it needs the space an extra slot would take up ,not the actual slot ?Thats seems a very confusing way to say that. -
Support For MSI-9130 "K8T Master Series"
When are MSI going to pull there finger out and release a new bios,
Last BIOS out was a Beta release. 2004/06/01. version 1.35
Come on MSI get your act into gear.Quote from: Bas on 17-May-05, 22:03:37
Do not try one of the 1.4x BIOS'ses!!!!
They will render the board dead....I have tested several of those...
Also, don't forget these are server/workstation boards, they don't get new BIOS'ses that often.
Why do you want a new BIOS anyway?????
I'm still running 1.10 and 1.20 here, they work just fine.
Bas -- thanks for the clarifying information. That must be why the system will not post at all, anymore. I guess my next step is to try to convince MSI to send me a ROM flashed with the 1.3 or earlier version of the BIOS -- which could be interesting since they are the ones who emailed me the 1.45 BIOS that killed the system..... -

2:Contrast is the difference in battery mode when the power cable is connected.
Are you one of the numbers is the contrast of the display is higher battery is bad. What can I do?
I have this problem in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The driver is the latest version.
3 : How hard Ssd raid, is how to install Windows? I do whatever I want to install Windows from my driver! Where can I get the drivers?
Thank youOk, I got word back from my MSI rep. Apparently, it's a limitation on the RAM that is used for the video card. Other laptops that use the HD8970M or R9 M290X that are not MSI suffer from this as well. This is an AMD goof-up, not MSI's, so don't get mad at MSI. The rep said that they tried to overclock to 1200MHz, but got BSOD's all the time. The rep assures me that the gaming experience is minimally affected (so nothing you'd notice, like 1-2 FPS difference)

Optimal bios settings for MSI KT400 V board, ms-6712
Is there a list of all the bios settings (not the normal manual, which came with the board), that are the best safest for this motherboard.
I have this board with a 2400 Athlon CPU.
Already flashed to the latest bios (i think 1.6..)
Happy X-mas.. :Doptimal settings are hard to pinpoint for a board because of the individual hardware. Some RAM can be run at aggressive timings like 2-2-5-2 with 4 way bank interleave/1T timings/Ultra Timings. Other's cannot.
AGP seems to be the best at 128mb aperture, fast writes enabled (if vid card supports it, nVidia's do).
PCI Busmaster enabled
32bit transfer mode enabled for the hard drives
System bios cacheable disabled
the list could go on but it's really a matter of trial and error. -

Thanks, Ted U -
I have been receiving this error trying to install SQL Server 2012. Initially I already had SQL Server 2012 on my machine and attempted to install BIDS 2008. My IT guy stated that there was a conflict in the installation and suggested that I uninstall SQL
Server 2012 and then attempt to install 2008 BIDs again. Fail. I got a similar error as I pasted below. Giving up on having 2008 BIDS I've been trying to reinstall 2012 SQL Server but am getting this message below.
The links provided by this message are no help at all (For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkID=20476&ProdName=Microsoft%20SQL%20Server&EvtSrc=setup.rll&EvtID=50000&ProdVer=11.0.2100.60&EvtType=0xDF039760%25401201%25401)
I've attempted to repair my .NET framework, didn't help.
I've followed the steps in these threads (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2688946), (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/957310?wa=wsignin1.0) and (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/beeceb19-69cc-4044-94f0-591feec04626/an-error-occurred-during-the-installation-of-assembly-microsoftvc80crt-public-key),
neither one fixed the error.
Any help? Anyone else run into this error? What should I do?

HRESULT: 0x80073712 means ERROR_SXS_COMPONENT_STORE_CORRUPT, and it is one of the error codes listed at this
KB article.
I suggest you run the System Update Readiness tool and check if the error still persists.

The following link might give you a starting point: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7066
How much external hardware support do you need out of the box? If you are willing to develop your own hardware drivers (such as LCD, user input, etc), then you can use almost any board with an ARM processor on it.

MSI TV@nywhere support for linux?
Hi,
i'm interested in the MSI TV@nywhere - it looks wonderful. Would anyone know if the linux support is planned for this card?
thank you,

Somehow someway I got the mix right. My only problem now is sound cuts out when I change chanels,to fix I need to shut off and restart pvs!!! This was the 22nd of April 2003! Try the new fix patches see if its any better.

I've writed to Online Custumer support on MSI Company, asking for new BIOS version fo my laptop. They send it to me, and i flashed BIOS successsfuly to new version, but i didn't like it becouse a lot of config menus were removed. I asked Tech Support for the original one, i've flashed it the same way, but laptop wont boot on now. Everything start exept of display.
I'm waiting them for answer from 1 week- nothing !! There is not MSI representive company in Bulgaria and i'm stuck :(
Also i want to say a lot things to MSI Customer support !!! For me - THEY bricked my laptop. And i can't understand how htey just stop write to me and leave me with this brick :(
Can anyone help with something ? Blind flash, recovery, other ?? Thanks a lot !Quote

Can anyone give me 1.0F Bios for my GX660 and what is hiw auto recovery name so i can try blind flash/recovery ?
attached it below
but for recovery name is unknown.
you can try names: AMIBOOT.ROM , E16F1IMS.ROM
placed over FAT/FAT32 USB key, and use this procudure: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=134435.msg1009999#msg1009999
just use your bios file names.
other option is to desoldier to bios chip, then to repprogram it and resoldier back
[assume your NB has no warranty]
