Deleting a bbm contact from BB Z10

i have tried it all, please help, how do i delete a bbm contact from BB Z10?

Welcome to the forums.
While you are viewing your BlackBerry Messenger contacts hold your finger on the one you want to delete and a side menu will pop up on the right, at the bottom of the menu you will see a trash can, select this to delete the contact.

Help with contact list :(

So I want to sync a phone number with a certain email account, right? I go to my list and only two of my emails is available. I check Default Services under Advanced Options and it's not there. The email in question is selectable when I want to choose which account to send a message from. I've gone through the host service business, deleted and undeleted, and no change. Thoughts?

First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page. If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud. Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost. Then log back in using the correct ID. ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note: Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers. So performing a restore will not help.
Contacts are gone from icloud.com.
Then they have been deleted. There are many reasons for this. One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device. How to get them back? Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases. Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the data files back to the computer. Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone.

Oh I also tried restoring my phone and starting all over again. That didn't work either!

Can iCloud help me contact iCloud user?

I legally acquired an iPad, it is stuck on Activate screen as it is locked to the original owners credentials. The guy I bought it from is now ignoring my calls as he cannot get hold of the original user either. I would like to lay a criminal charge if the guy I bought it from sold me a stlen device. Can Apple help contact the original owner? If they cannot then I would like a court to order them to release the contact details as I am suffering a loss due to their iCloud platform. What is the original guy died? Why am I being punished & losing money? What if there was a crime involved & I end up in jail? Whats the point of the platform if users cannot recover their devices even when a finder contacts Apple?

You are out of luck and purcahsed a "bricked' iPad.
Apple cannot help you contact the original owner. If the original ownner reported it and they can track it,then Apple can (and will) forward that ionformation to the police agency handling the stolen item report. At that point you are the one in possession of stolen property and it will be taken from you and returned to the original owner. You may not actually be the "legal" owner".
You have a private claim against the person whosold it to you. File a criminal police complain aganst them. You can also file a civila action in small claims against them, if you can find and serve them.
The rule of thumb before handing over the cash is to input your iCloud information onto the device and THEN pay for it.

I need help with contacts.

Ok, I just recently got the Iphone 4s. I need some help with contacts. I ended up adding my hotmail contacts to my phone and now every time I add a new contact, it adds the person to my hotmail contacts instead of my All On My Iphone contacts. I don't like it because I am adding phone numbers, not necessarily with email addresses.
If you sent me a message right now and I went in and added you as a contact, it adds you to my hotmail contacts instead of my iphone ones for some reason. How can I fix this? And if I delete my hotmail account temporarily (and re-add it) will I lose the contacts that my phone put in there mistakenly?

Well, I don't care if it makes a back-up of my contacts in my hotmail. But, I would like my contacts to go to my actual phone contacts. I call and text much more than I email and it would be nice to have to not wade through my email contacts to find someone I am looking to text, etc.
I know it's not a huge hassle, but I prefer to keep the people I contact most within my text/phone contacts, rather than email.
Also, if I opt to change my email service (hotmail gets a lot of spam), I don't want to lose phone/text contacts because I no longer use that email anymore.
I wouldn't even care if they appeared in both, for my most contacted. I just would like to have them in my phone book without having to add them all by hand.

Help please - synchronizing contacts on all devices.

Let's start with this question, where is my master contact list, in other words, which device am I working from?
I would like to sync to my MacBook Pro, Air, 4s and iPad. Currently the contacts on all devices vary or so it seems. I recently lost contacts all together from my 4s, yet they are still on my notebooks and my iPad.
Can someone please walk me, step-by-step, through this process?
Obviously, when additional contacts are added, I would hope that they would stream to all devices.

I have not thoroughly examined her Outlook files on her business computer but will be doing that. She says she has a "business" pst and a "personal" pst file. Can both pst files from one computer be sync'd as long as the path to each is shown?

I’ve had another look at this.
I was wrong about the birthday in the contact taking you to the most recent one; not sure what I did but it was finger trouble.
Unfortunately, it has just reiterated the original problem.
For example, there is a contact in my list with a birthdate of 3rd December, 1958.
The Birthday field in Google Contacts shows 3rd December 1958.
The Birthday field in N9 Contacts shows 4th December 1958.
When you open the Contact page to edit the individual fields and tap on the Birthday field, it takes you to December 1958 and highlights .... the 3rd!!
I clicked on the 3rd and then saved the changes to the Contact Birthday field in the N9 and it still showed the 4th.
I have had auto time update ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ and I have changed the time zone in my phone from GMT+11 in increments to GMT-4 and nothing changes in the Birthday field.
It looks like the error lies in the birthday coding.

I got the Z10 2 days ago and since I try to transfer my contacts from my Torch9800 to the Z10...does anybody knows what I have to do? With BB Links it doesn't work at all. Intouch app, that seems to be helpful, I can't download it because I need an invitation for it...

How can get my contact from dead Z10

Can anyone help me out, my Z10 is dead now due to car charger, I have configure, Yahoo, Hotmail and my office emial addresses, but did not configure blackberry desktop on my pc nor take back-up of my contact, can I get my contact details from dead z10, doese Yahoo / Hotmail could help me on this

Also, I notice you have your phone number listed in your profile. It is unwise to post your phone number there for all the Internet world to see and possibly harvest for spam use. At the top of the page click on My Settings and go to personal information and remove your phone number.

Broke the battery contact on my Z10 - throw it away!??

Generally a fan of BB and Z10 has been great for over a year. Now i have a problem and no apparent solution. I bent one of the 4 contact pins that connect to the battery. Carefully straightened it, and it just broke off. It is off warranty. Service companies are telling me that they cannot get the part from BB and they cannot fix it. I have been told to throw the phone away!! My carrier has generously offered to sell me a new phone once I pay off the $280 residual remaining on my plan. Checking on-line, I've found the part in the UK, I am thinking about ordering this but the techs tell me that they may wreck the phone trying to mount the part anyways (mounts to the motherboard). It is starting to sound like a VW problem i once had, I won't bore you with the ugly details....
Anyone got ideas?

If you are going to attempt this repair yourself. I would suggest searching how to do this on YouTube, so you can watch at your own leisure, while you fix the phone. And hopefully if you follow the instructions right. It'll work.

Synchronized Contacts do not appear in Address Book

Hello,
I have OS 10.6.6, iSync 3.1, Address Book 5.0.3 and a NOKIA 6500c Phone. I successfully installed the plugin for the Nokia (at least it seems like it, the phone is recognized).
I have like 6 contact in Address Book and like 150 on Phone. When I do the "first time" sync I chose "merge" phone and computer. When doing the sync, on the phone display a status bar appears and it says x/150 synchronized, as should be, and within a few seconds its done. But the contacts do not appear in Address Book. I've tried this a few times after resetting the syncing settings and everytime I do the first time sync, it appears to work, but nothing appears in Address Book.
Funny is: If I change the phone number of one of the existing 6 entries, that I have in my AddressBook on computer, on the phone, the change is synchronized to the computer. But no new entries are entered on the computer.
What am I missing?

There should be an option within the phones menus somewhere.
I think its something like choose Edit on a contact and change the *Store to* option to phone

Bell Mobility told me to contact BlackBerry about Z10. Did not say where.

I'm still having problems. Missing phone calls, they aren't even getting logged onto my Z10 at all. Sometimes I get a text message that notifies me what the voice mail says, but doesn't log the call. I have missed EXTREMELY important calls because of this. Bell Mobility told me they have no clue what to tell me and to contact blackberry directly about what's going wrong with my phone. They did not say how or where, just said to come to this site and figure it out. I can't believe I'm getting the run around at Bell Mobility. I'm disgusted. I need help please. Thank you.

Yup...someone really fobbed you off there. As has always been, there is no free channel for any end users to seek anything directly from BlackBerry. Everything goes through the carriers, authorized resellers, or authorized service centers. Each has the ability (indeed the contractual responsibility!!!) to escalate cases formally up to BlackBerry that require such. But telling someone to come here and "figure it out" is really quite sloppy...for there is nothing to figure out. The carrier can (and should) escalate your case up to BlackBerry via the formal channels to which only they have access. This is as it's always been with BlackBerry.
So I recommend you try again...and perhaps keep trying until you find someone at Bell who is (I'll be gentle) properly trained in the BlackBerry support model to which all parties are contractually bound.
Then again...did you perhaps not obtain your Z10 from Bell? If that's the case, then indeed it can get tricky. Bell would be responsible for all of your service-related support, but the device supplier to you would be responsible for all device-related support. Figuring out which it is (device or service) can be the tricky bit there...with each motivated to blame the other.
But, if you obtained your Z10 from Bell, then they are 100% responsible for ALL of your formal support, both device and service related.

Getting duplicate contacts on my Z10

I have a BlackBerry Z10 and suddenly in the past two days the Contacts app started showing duplicate contacts. I am not sure what caused this, can you help me please because it is so annoying

What is the full version of your BlackBerry 10 OS?
Are the contacts from your SIM card, were they created on the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone only, or were they added via an email account?
Were these contacts previously merged and unlinked manually from the BlackBerry smartphone?
