Help syncing facebook contacts

I recently got a black berry storm 9530 and I'm trying to sync my facebook contacts to my phone and its not working. I went to verizon and they couldn't help me either. When I first set up the phone I set up a work related email (my facebook email is different) then I installed the facebook app and tried to sync my contacts. This failed it said it worked but there was no phone numbers or anything, then I added my facebook email and tried again. this still failed. I'm not sure what to do. the calander and birthday/ notifcations go through but i have no contacts. what should i do?

Facebook will only sync with existing contacts. For example, if you have John Doe in your BlackBerry Address Book and he is also your Facebook friend, Facebook for BlackBerry will link to the contact. Facebook friends that are not in your BlackBerry Address Book will not be synchronized.

I need help syncing my contacts between Outlook and iPhone using iTunes. I used the knowldge document and set it up to transfer my Outlook contacts to the iphone using itunes.
In contacts on the iphone I only see the email addresses.
Yet in Outlook I have email, snail mail and phone numbers.
I followed the knowledge document from iphone.
I did it once, didn't work so deleted all the contacts from the phone and tried again. Same result. I have a PC using Windows 7 64 bit.

You can't access an Exchange account via ActiveSync with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac.
You can access a MM account with Outlook on your PC at work and keep your MM email account server stored mailboxes synced between your PC at work, your iPhone, and the MM "cloud". Not sure about syncing MM contact info and calendar events with Outlook at the same time with an Exchange account.
This will not provide for syncing your Exchange account contact info and calendar events with the Addresss Book and iCal on your Mac because the accounts are separate.
You can access an Exchange account and a MM account at the same time with the iPhone's mail client, and sync contact info and calendar events over the air with both accounts at the same time. You can view combined contact info or separately for each account, and the same for calendar events.

Did you try setting >facebook> turn off/on contacts. I dont understand but try this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5500 article which only has some basic info.

I have followed all the steps to syncing my contacts however when I go to my friends page, there is syncing option. What do I do? I took it to the sprint store and they were absolutely worthless and no one knew how to do it :-(

Go to settings, scroll down to facebook, login and turn on contacts , facebook and calenders if you want that too. and update all contacts.

We certainly want you to have your contacts syncing correctly. Check your phone's settings by going to Settings>Applications>Contacts>Contact To Display. Select the option to show Facebook contacts here.

Syncing Question: Is it safe to sync email contacts on iPhone?

Hi guys,
I have just bought an iPhone which I intend to use for both work and personal stuff. I am wondering when I sync my mail accounts with iPhone, will I be actually exposing my personal email, phone number or any type of personal info to my work email contacts?
I have synced Facebook contacts to iPhone and saw that some friends have whole lots of contact info exposed. That is why before I synced my work email contacts, can anyone explain if our personal things on our iPhone will be exposed to the synced email contacts we have on the same iPhone?
For example: Can work email contacts (Gmail or Yahoo) see my personal Facebook profile photo since it is saved in my own contact list?
Can work email contacts see my phone number when I reply from the iPhone?
Basically any answers related to syncing safety will be much appreciated.

Thanks, modular747. Sure, but isn't there only one "sync" button that will then sync everything, and isn't iTunes the only place to control what is synced?
I suppose one way to fix this would be to sync my calendars and contacts using iCloud. This would also mean that my iPad was kept in sync more regularly. But I use Google Calendar as a Calendar app and sync this to iCal via BusySync, and am yet to find a way that I can get this (and my Google contacts, which sync with my Address Book) to play nicely.
If there's some way I can use iCloud to sync my calendars and contacts between Mac, iPhone and iPad, while maintain the synchronisation I've currently got running between iCal, Address Book and Google, I'd love to hear it

My facebook contacts are synced with my phonebook. But when I add new friends to my facebook, then are not added to my phone. How do i do this ??? I've been trying for days! On my facebook when i click settings there is no option to sync contacts. Someone please help!!! Thanks

The best way to do this will be to add the Facebook account on to your device. The steps for doing this are listed below:
Menu
Settings
Accounts
Add Account
Choose Facebook
Enter information
Continue
Once you have done this you need to perform a soft reset by removing the battery then re-installing and powering the device on.
After you have done this the contacts should be included on your device's.

Can anyone help me with iPhone 6 and removing Facebook contacts?

I recently got an iPhone 6 and i recently set up a family sharing plan and now all of a sudden all my Facebook contacts are now in my contacts on my phone and I do not want that - they are mostly just email addresses and I manually have the one's I want in my phone already so don't want those Facebook email addresses in my contacts on my phone. When I go to edit them (they have an "F" by the picture) and go to the bottom it doesn't give me the Delete option, only to "link contacts". There are also some others I can delete and not sure where they are pulling from, but I only want the contacts I first set up and not all these extras...how do I get rid of them so it doesn't sync and keep adding them back please? I went under Settings/Contacts but turning that off removes most all my contacts...Please, any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you may have enabled Contacts in your Facebook settings. You can navigate to Settings > Facebook to see these settings. Please use the attached article to use as a reference for this situation.

Sync Gmail contacts with Facebook

All of my contacts are on my Gmail account and are synced to my iPhone and I've also synced Facebook to contacts. If I open any contact now they have a 'Facebook line' so it's clear that the sync has worked, but only a few contacts have also synced the Facebook profile picture! As it's linked ALL of my contacts to the relevant Facebook profile, why aren't they all now displaying the profile pictures?

I believe it will auto link if the name is identical (first and last)

I had this problem as well and after several weeks of research I found something that worked for me. I went into contacts clicked on groups and determined which email I had synced with contacts. I had 2 however I was only showing my Gmail account in my contact list. I went to my Gmail account and entered an individuals name, phone number and email address into my contact list in Gmail. Then went into settings, Facebook and update all contacts. it updated that one contact with all the information that is shared with me on Facebook, including the profile picture. I found an even easier way to accomplish this if you're using a Yahoo account because at this time Yahoo has a sync option that it seems that Gmail's latest version currently does not. Go to your Yahoo account, contacts and import all contacts from Facebook. Once that is done go back to settings, Facebook and update all contacts. Voila all you Facebook information in now in your iPhone contact list. Note: You may end up with some duplicated in your contact list. Simply link the contacts together and all of that individuals information is stored in one contact in your phone. Hope this helps and Happy clicking! lol

Facebook contacts will not sync into passport

I have tried everything I can think of and even though this has never happened on my other blackberries, I cannot get my passport to sync my facebook contacts... help!

I've just come off the phone to Apple Support who seem to be totally unaware of this change. Whilst I understand that this decision was Facebook's it seems rather strange that Apple were not informed, given that it fundamentally alters the ios experience. I think the best way forward with this is to contact Facebook direct. Does anybody know how best to do this?

View > Show Sidebar
Then it should work just the same as on your old computer.

How can I sync *CURRENT* contacts with Facebook?

I searched the discussions and found numerous questions asking how to sync Facebook's contacts with Address Book but those results just put all of Facebook's contacts in your Address Book. I would like to sync the my current addressbook with Facebook and import user pictures, email addresses, etc.
I'm an iPhone user all of 24 hours but this is done pretty seemlessly on Android phones.
Is there a way of selecting just current contacts to be synced with Facebook?

I have found that syncing my contacts then un-syncing them results in my current contacts retaining all the info and picture from Facebook. I just don't have the Facebook updates, which I'm happier about anyway.

How do I sync individual contacts with Facebook?

On iOs6, on the iPhone 5, how does one sync individual contacts with Facebook? I don't wish to use the sync all contacts feature, as it adds thousands of Facebook friends to my contact list. I simply wish to connect the contacts already in my address book.

I realize this is really old, but on the off chance of you never having found a way, I figured I'd pop in with something actually useful unlike this Raz fella.
I couldn't figure out a way to do it without connecting to facebook at all, but here is what I did:
1. Connect to facebook.
2. Update contacts.
3. Click groups and uncheck facebook contacts.
Now contacts which are only on the phone because of facebook will not show up, and yet the others will have been connected.
If a specific person does not connect properly to facebook, add their FACEBOOK EMAIL (found in their about section) to the email section of contacts and again go to the facebook settings and click update contacts. This should connect that person.
