Help tab doesn't want to close and let me continue

Please help, I've accidentally clicked on help in photoshop and was very busy with an assignment and now it doesn't want to go away. It says Unable to display online help. Connect to the internet and try again.....blablabla.... then OK, for the life of me I've clicked on OK many many times, it doesn't want to close and there is no escape or close button (x), I've even connected to my internet and it's still the same story. Please tell me this have happened to atleast one of you, I don't want to lose all my work ;(

What operating system? If Windows, open the Task manager > Applications tab. Click on your browser, and End process.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

My last tab doesn't have a "close" button.

It doesn't have a "close" button, as if it's been cut off or something, but I can't scroll any farther on the tab-bar. I have a lot of tabs up, but I've had more (by far) before and have never had this problem--although I just downloaded firefox 4.

It looks like the browsers.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab behavior has changed in a somewhat illogical way. It used to be that setting that flag to true meant that closing the last tab on a firefox window would close the window. This is still kind of true, but in the latest Firefox, if that flag is set to true the close button is hidden for the last tab, and middle clicking it does nothing. Oddly, ctrl-w still works. When the flag is disabled, the close button appears but won't close the window (it keeps opening a blank tab).
Seems like a regression.

Every time I close a window that has opened up (not a tab) all the open windows close and it's driving me nuts!

If I have opened up a link and it comes up as a separate window and not a tab, then I go to close that window, all the other Firefox windows that are open will close too. Is there anything to prevent this? It is extremely annoying when I have to go and open all the windows/tabs again!

T1200 ink cartridge cover doesn't want to close

HI All
When replacing ink cartridge on HP Designjet T1200 postscript .I followed the procedure as per the user guide manual.However after replacing the cartridge and heard the beep sound i did pressed ok on the front panel display before i close the ink cartridge cover.So i couldnt close the cover afterwards and it seems that the cover it hold by pressure system that doesnt release it ?.Can someone give me insight on this or shall i push the cover hardly as it might broke i think...

Help!! Adobe wants 600 bucks and I ain't got it!!

When I got a new laptop with OS 10.6.4, I was very surprised to find out that I couldn't install my CS3 discs!! When I called Adobe and talked to the nice man from India, he told me that CS3 is not compatible and that I need to shell out six hundred smackers to upgrade to the latest CS... is it still CS5 or is there a CS6 now?
In any case, there is no way I can afford that!! I just spent $600 on CS3 in June of 2008!! I don't think it's right that I should be forced to spend another 600 just for the privilege of using their products!! It's totally unfair.
Now, the thing is, I am a website designer!! I am hopeless without my Dreamweaver and Photoshop to do my work.
And what really burns me up is I don't need CS5!! CS3 does everything I need and more!!
So please, does anyone know of any way I can load my CS3 discs onto my new mac laptop and make it work? Or does Adobe really expect me to pay 600 every year and a half???

Dear Bob, thank you for your reply. If people think I'm a "whiner" then I'm glad then 600 bucks to burn in case their motherboard dies and they need to get a new computer to replace the old one. It is called "venting" a very human and necessary function of releasing frustration in our impersonal overly digitized world. Frankly I don't care what they think, all I care about is getting my programs back without having to shell out cash. period.
And so that being said, I thought I was being clear but I guess not. Here's what happens when I put the 1st CS3 disc in my optical drive. The disc shows up on my computer with a bunch of files and folders but no download icon. The files/folders are as follows: Adobe Creative Suite folder, Acrobat 6 folder, Autoplay folder, Autoplay.exe, Autoplay.exe.manifest, Autorun.inf, howtoinstall.html and readmefirst.html.

But there is no "Install Adobe Creative Suite icon." Only folders as I mentioned before. So I'm stuck on step #2.
When I click on the Adobe Creative Suite folder, there are more files and folders such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Adobe Version Que, several "dll" files and setup.exe. There's nothing there to install.
if you know of way to get around this problem and load CS 3 on my OS X version 10.6.4, please let me know.

Two problems with tabs: (1) no "x" to close; and (2) unable to open new tab adjacent to current tab

I don't know if this is a change in how Firefox works, a glitch in my download, or an improper setting, but my tabs don't have an "x" on them to close.
Also, tabs now open at the end of the list rather than in the adjacent window as the did recently. Is there any way to switch this back so new tabs open adjacent to the current tab?

You can reset the tab prefs on the about:config page in case they have been changed.

If you want a close X on the first tab if only one tab is open then set browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false.

IMac 27 doesn't want to close

I tried to installed OS 10.9.3. The installation failed because my iMac doesn't want to shut down or restart.
A white screen appears along a menu bar named Software update launcher.
What happens?

System preferences always wants to close and reopen

Whenever I open system preferences, and click on any icon, I get a window that says " to use (whichever icon I chose) system preferences must close and reopen". If I click OK, the reopened preferences window will then work fine. This happens every time I try to use preferences, or even use preferences for some applications. It is distressing me a bit, as I am worried that I have some virus.

If FF is set to "Never Remember History" and I try to close it with multiple tabs open, it doesn't warn me first. If it remembers history, it warns me about closing multiple tabs. I want that warning AND Don't Remember History back again!

At work I set my PC to not remember history for privacy reasons.
I always have many tabs open, and the warning about closing multiple tabs was a good thing - but now it only works if it remembers history!
I have the "Warn me when closing...." box checked AND all of the lines in about:config regarding these warnings are set to true. I have tried turning it off and back on, restarted the PC.
I discovered this yesterday with FF 3.something, tried updating to FF4.

The "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.
Firefox shows "Use custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
"Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.
You need to remove the checkmark on "Always use private browsing mode" to leave Private Browsing mode or chose the "Remember History" setting.

My Ipod Touch 4g doesn't want to restore, and is stuck in DFU mode with black screen! When in the restoring process i get Error 1618, can someone help?

My ipod touch got disabled and it said to connect it to itunes. It didnt want to recognize it so i try to restore it. Everything when good i downloaded the newest ipod software, it reach the loading bar in the ipod but didnt load anything. Then it turn off and the Error 1618 appear on Itunes can someone help me fix it???

Try a hard reset and see if you can get the Apple logo to light up.

Help, itunes doesn't want to work with airtunes and my airport express!

Strangely specific problem with playing itunes using airtunes. Just connected an Airport express to my time capsule. All the software and firmware is up to date, and I'm streaming from itunes to an airport express connected to a stereo. My itunes is on a laptop. My library is on the time capsule. Almost everytime the song changes, the audio drops out and stays out until I pause and replay the song. It's the weirdest thing. There are no random audio drops, just a failure to keep playing when the song switches (and it doesn't happen every time, just some of the time). This is similar but not the same as the problems other folks are having with airport express and itunes audio drop outs. Does anyone have a solution?

Problem solved. Upgrading to most recent itunes relased yesterday seems to have fixed the problem.

You can check for problems with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Why do I keep opening a "new tab" when I want to close the present one? I am just going round in circles.

When I try to close a tab by clicking on its "x", I get a blank page and "new tab". When I click this off, I go back to the previous tab. The only way I can get back to my original page is by going to "History". This happens with both email (clicking on links within the email) and browsing.

After buying Adobe Premiere from the cloud, installation by (Adobe service), my InDesign CS6 quits on startup. Need help, Adobe doesn't want to fix this.

If you buy a cloud application while you have a totally legal Creative Suite Premium 6 it might stop working. Adobe made the installation by taking control of my computer. The girl did not seemed totally well trained... my opinion and right after that my InDesign stopped working!!! Now my If I call to get help they send you here because they don't want to spend money fixing that problem. So, I wonder if it's a good idea to buy a new application from the cloud if you already are a good customer. It's probably safer to buy other CS6 or CS5 versions if you already have some. Otherwise you might be stuck to buy the entire package through the cloud even if you don't need the last versions. To solved my problem, I erased the applications with all the preferences on the second time around, reinstalled everything and InDesign still quits on startup. I have the same setup at home but this one does work.
