[HELP] Technical drawing

I am working in a company that fabricates signages. I am new here.  We are using AutoCad and Adobe Illustrator for making shop drawings and actual size print for the signages. Please help me or give me some tips for technical drawing. We're just two designers here and I'm not that aware about making plans, mock-up drawings because I am a fresh graduate I.T and the environment of my work is for Industrial, Architect, and Engineering. Thank you.

I was refering to Corel Draw Graphics Suite X6, although Technical Suite is certainly worth considering, too.
Draw is Corel's general-purpose vector drawing program, just as Illustrator is Adobe's general-purpose vector drawing program. Draw is the "central" program in the Graphics Suite bundle, which also includes PhotoPaint, a raster imaging program comparable to Photoshop, and other programs.
As mentioned above, Draw has basic dimension tools, callout tools, provides for drawing to scale, and lets you specify type in terms of cap height, which is how sign shops often prefer to do it. Corel Draw is widely used in the sign trade.
Corel Technical Suite is a similar bundle, but the drawing program is a version of Draw that is modified to includes features and functionality from another more expressly technically-oriented drawing program formerly known as Micrografx Designer, which was acquired by Corel in 2001. Corel originally called that program Corel Designer, but is now called CorelDRAW Technical Suite.
Corel did a very nice job of merging the two programs. The interface of DRAW Technical is almost identical to Draw; a Draw user can jump right into it and feel right at home. Graphically, it's interface is toned down a bit; rather cleaner and more "business like" in its look and feel, which I prefer.
Beyond that, though, there is significant functional addition. It includes a feature set expressly to facilitate axonometric drawing (isometric, dimetric, trimetric). It also is able to import 3D models from many common CAD/CAE programs, rotate them to a desired orientation, and flatten them to 2D to then proceed with enhancing them with all the mainstream graphics features of DRAW. This additional functionality (and the more vertical orientation of the market) is why Technical Suite costs significantly more than Graphics Suite.
An optional expansion pack adds to Technical Suite more CAD/CAE imports, such as CATIA. That adds significantly more to the price, no doubt due to exhorbitant licensing fees Corel has to pay to the holders of those program formats.
So you might do well to take a serious look at Technical Suite. But for most sign shops' purposes Graphics Suite does the job. It all depends on what specific aspects of your work you intend to use the drawing program for.
Deneba Canvas is another quite good general-purpose vector illustration program that expressly caters to technical illustration, and is actually a bit more CAD-like in its interface scheme, and it also includes the dimension tools, callout tools, and user-defined drawing scales you'd most likely want in the sign trade. (Among almost all general-purpose mainstream drawing programs, Illustrator is the only one still missing those basic features.)

    Does any one know of software that you can import a PDF and then draw  on it, dimensions, notes and symbols...technical drawing?. Blue beam have the perfect software for this BUT it's not Mac compatible

    You need a PDF editor, at the high end use Adobe's Acrobat Professional, at the low end use the editing features in Preview (pre-loaded on your iMac). However you should probably look at the Mac App Store, you will find many of PDF editing applications. You simply need to find one that suits your needs.

  • Need Help to Draw and Drag Triangle - URGENT

    Hi everyone - I am developing various proofs of the pythagora's theorem
    and the following code draws a triangle on screen and the proof follows -
    but i need to know how to drag the triangle such tht 1 angle is always set to 90 degrees.
    i.e. i need to resize the triangle by dragging its vertex points by which the1 angle remains at 90 no matter what the size.
    The proof has got some graphics code hardcoded in it - i.e. LINES AND POLYGONS have been hardcoded
    i need to reconfigure that such that everytime the user increases the size of the triagnle and clicks on next it draws the lines and polygons in the correct area and place

    THANKS

    One of the problems you face is that it is hard to recognise which parts of your code are drawing the triangle. This is because you are writing code in a procedural way rather than an object oriented way.
    In object oriented code you would have a triangle object that could draw itself. You would create the triangle object by specifying its sizes and angles in some way. Then it should be easy to change the triangles sizes and angles and ask all the drawn objects to redraw themselves.

  • I need help to draw an image and move it plz plz : )

    Ok, so I have this whole code and I understand most of it but not all of it but I'm trying to make image "drop.gif" to move down the right side of the window. For each shot that is taken the image moves down ever so much and if the image hits the Entity ship "background" than notify death. PLease anyone help me !

  • Need help to draw a graph from the output I get with my program please

    Hi all,
    I please need help with this program, I need to display the amount of money over the years (which the user has to enter via the textfields supplied)
    on a graph, I'm not sure what to do further with my program, but I have created a test with a System.out.println() method just to see if I get the correct output and it looks fine.
    My question is, how do I get the input that was entered by the user (the initial deposit amount as well as the number of years) and using these to draw up the graph? (I used a button for the user to click after he/she has entered both the deposit and year values to draw the graph but I don't know how to get this to work?)
    Please help me.
    The output that I got looked liked this: (just for a test!) - basically this kind of output must be shown on the graph...
    The initial deposit made was: 200.0
    After year: 1        Amount is:  210.00
    After year: 2        Amount is:  220.50
    After year: 3        Amount is:  231.53
    After year: 4        Amount is:  243.10
    After year: 5        Amount is:  255.26
    After year: 6        Amount is:  268.02
    After year: 7        Amount is:  281.42
    After year: 8        Amount is:  295.49
    After year: 9        Amount is:  310.27
    After year: 10        Amount is:  325.78
    After year: 11        Amount is:  342.07
    After year: 12        Amount is:  359.17
    After year: 13        Amount is:  377.13

    The above is also good.Sorry but you need to look a bit more closely at URLs that you cite. What the OP wants is a chart (as in X against Y) not a graph (as in links and nodes) . 'jgraph' deals with links and nodes.
    The best free charting library that I know of is JFreeChart from www.jfree.org.

  • Help in drawing graphics.

    Hi friends,
    I'm newbie in drawing graphics with Java, and I need some help in a specific part of my program.
    What I want to do is to draw a waveform of a sound file. That waveform is built based on the amplitude of each sound sample. So I have a big vector full of those amplitudes. Now what I need to do is plot each point on the screen. The x coordinate of the point will be its time position in the time axis. The y coordinate of the point will be the amplitude value. Ok... Now I have a lot of doubts...
    1 - can someone give me a simple example on how to plot points in a java app? I know I have to extend a JPainel class, but I don't know much about those paint, and repaint methods. It's all weird to me. I already searched through the tutorial and the web, but I couldn't see a simple, good example. Can someone hand me this?
    2 - Once I know how to draw those graphics, I need to find a way to put a button, or anything like that, in my app, so the user can press that button to see to next part of the waveform, since the wave is BIG, and doesn't fit entirely on the screen. Is this button idea ok? Can I use some sort of SCROLL on it, would it be better?
    Well... I'm trying to learn it all. ANY help will be appreciated, ANY good link, little hint, first step, anything.
    Thanks for all, in advance.

  • Need help with Drawing applet

    im in the process of making a network whiteboard as a project for college and i was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem im having. When my application minimises or a window is placed over the application the drawing is erased, even if a window is placed over a certain part of the application it erases the part it covers is there any way to stop this from happening i cant seem to fix it, any help is appreciated, thanks

    You should be buffering what the whiteboard is to draw, either as a BufferedImage or in some
    data structure so that you can refresh when asked to repaint. Are you doing that, or are you
    just drawing new graphics as it arrives from the server?

    Hi,
    I want to right click on a WDA, click on More Field Help then click on technical help to see what the underlying WD components, views etc.... are. But when I right clcik and then click More Field Help all I get is No Help Available. I have not touch the application parameter WDHIDEMOREFIELDHELPASDEFAULT. Nor do I see it on the parameters tab. So there must be something somewhere that is turing it off. Even stranger is there are to WDA's for this component. One works and one doesn't. Wonder if it is getting set on fly in the code.
    Anyone seen this kind of behavior and could shed some light?
    Thanks!

  • I need help on drawing a circuit

    Hi im a student and relatively new to Multisim. I need to draw a circuit that shows a PIR sensor connected up with 12V relay that's it connected to 85 LED's at 3.5V 20mA. The LED's contain a resistor of 1K ohms every 3 LED's. My power supply is a 12V battery.
    If anyone could put me in the right direction for drawing this circuit it would be much appreciated.

    Hello,
    If you're looking for components, go to the component selector window (ctrl+w), there you'll find LEDs under the Diode group, and resistors under Basic. There is alot of helpful resources on how to use MultSIM here on the NI website. You'll find kownledge base articles, tutorials, labs, and help pages.

  • I just upgraded to CP 5. Need help with drawing objects.

    I am trying to put a simple drawing object around a word.  Like a square.  I can't figure out how to not have any fill, just the outline of the box.  Any suggestions?  I was able to do this in CP 4.

    Hi there
    Personally, I'd use a Highlight Box to accomplish this. But that's just me.
    Here are the steps for a square drawing object. I'll assume you have already inserted the object and placed it and all you want are instructions for dealing with the fill.
    Look inside the properties inspector at the Fill & Stroke section. Click the Fill color and configure Alpha to 0%.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Need help on drawing multiple squares on the screen

    I am working on a project for aircraft seating and what i have to do is create square on the screen as seat. I got to draw 180 squares on the screen and it sounds easy but i have been stuck at it for about 10 days now my superviser doesn't know java so he can't help me on what i should do next and java superviser's told me they have no time to see me so if anyone here can help to guide me where i am goin wrong or how i should do it would be very helpful. Here is the code i have so far i think i am maybe close to gettin it working but then again i could be far off.
    import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    import java.awt.Dimension;
    import java.awt.GridLayout;

                    boardPanel.add(board[row][column]);
                panel2 = new JPanel();
                panel2.add(boardPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER);

                        super.paintComponents(g);
                        g.drawRect(0, 0, 19, 19);
    }

    Yeah I'd make a Seat class, subclassing JLabel, and then add some business logic to them to reflect that. For example, if they're already booked, given them a different color and disable clicks on them. If they're bookable, add a mouse click listener. Maybe I'd make different subclasses of Seat for those different roles. I'd add them all to the grid, but also add them to a Map indexed by seat name or something so I could find them and update them as needed.
