Help! Text is dissapearing when re-opening pdf docs

I'm useing Windows XP- Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro version 8.1.4. When I export a document to a pdf and save it, then I go to the docuemt and open it for the first time- everything is fine. But as soon as I close it and re-open it- whether I make changes and save it or not. All text is gone. If I make any comments in it- they are still there- but no original text. This just started happening. I can open any pdf's before April without any problems. I just updated today from 8.1.2 to 8.1.4 hoping this would fix my problem- but to no availe(sp?). Can anybody please help me? This probelm is on all computers wiht Acrobat pro- not just mine.

I'm useing a program called topguard. There is an export to pdf on it. We've been useing it for over a year now without any problems. Here are the steps we take:
1- In the topguard program- export to pdf
2- Go to the saved pdf file and open it (Opens in Acrobat pro)
3- Everything is good- make a comment if necessary for gaps in time using the Sticky (comment) feature
4- Save the file.
5- Boss wants to view the file- so he goes and opens it up. No text is visible except the little sticky notes

Why does text box move when I open pages doc on my friend's mac?

Hi Everyone,
So I have this very vexing problem with pages. I have been trying to collaborate with a friend of mine and everytime the pages document moves from one computer to the other the text boxes move terribly out of place. So for example, I will make a document and format it perfectly on my computer. Then I will email it to her (or put it up on dropbox or yousendit or zip it and email it) and without fail when she opens it on her computer the text boxes have moved and the document looks horrible, all my design work is totally wasted. The same thing happens if she starts a document on her end and then gives it to me.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions?
Oh and by the way we are both running OS 10.8.2 and Pages 4.3

Hi Swati,
That was a shot in the dark. I remember that the now obsolete MacDraw would reset its margins to suit different printers. I had the thought that because Pages page layout seems similar to MacDraw, it was doing the same. I don't have a printer, so my print settings don't tell me much. Maybe Page Setup or the Print dialogue?
Let's hope that someone else has more ideas.

How can I get my instructional text to display when I open the pdf?

I have some fields which I have set up which have help/instructions for completing the information required. This is a questionnaire. When I save it as a pdf, the instsructional text does not display. I would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to fix this.

Both Memory Clean and Clean My Mac could have cause the damage which triggered the kp.
I would back up your Mac, erase and reinstall. Then Migrate your user data from the backup.
Uninstalling Tuxera is a troubleshooting process. You don't have to keep it uinstalled, just long enough to test to see if it is causing the problems.
However, if it doesn't happen regularly, it would be hard to determine if it was the cause. And, as I mentioned, I don't think it would be the cause.

I recently upgraded from Adobe 8.1 to 9.3. Now, I can no longer open pdf docs.

I have run 2008 Advanced Registry Optimizer.

Back up all data.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combinationshift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and pressreturn:

From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
If you still have the issue, repeat the above steps using this line:

I haven't use the C# API but I imagine it is the same as C ShellExecute. Which in turn is the same thing (in essence) as double clicking in Windows Explorer.
So... does Adobe Reader run normally on this machine?
And does it start and open if you double click on a PDF file?

Adobe for Palm is an ancient program that requires you to convert the raw PDF files on your desktop before you can sync them on a PalmOS device. Are you using the converter program from Adobe?
I gave up on this program a long time ago, and switched to the freeware "PalmPDF" available on freewarepalm.com. You can put raw PDF's on an SD card and they can be read by the program with no conversion necessary!
