Help! The liquify tool is not working as expected in Photoshop CC.

I have used CS5 for a couple years and used the liquify tool very frequently without issue. I subscribed to Photoshop CC 2 weeks ago and have been having this problem with the tool:
When I use Bloat, Pinch or Reconstruct, it seem to over-do its function and completely distorts the photo, even with a single click. If I move the cursor even a millimeter, the whole image gets sucked into a blank circle the size of the brush. See examples (I used Bloat for these):

I have tried adjusting the brush density, brush rate. I have reloaded Photoshop several times. I searched online for a solution and tried the "Kelby trick" by pressing Shift while starting up Photoshop. None of those work. I have only had CC for two weeks and have not changed any settings (except increased history states to 99) and have not installed any plug-ins or anything.
Any ideas how to fix this? It used to be one of my favorite tools!

OK, that's strange. I see you have brush pressure set at 1, and the other settings are sensible, so a bit of a mystery. Have you tried both mouse and tablet? If it happens with one and not the other you could check that device's settings. Might be down to deleting preferences unless someone else has a bright idea.

(is it possible to bypass camera raw and open the photo straight into CS5 without using camera raw first. if so how do i do that. if not how do i process pictures).

Photoshop by itself cannot process raw image data. That is why the Camera Raw plug-in was developed. You could try the DNG converter and convert your images to the DNG format and then the Camera Raw that you have would be able to open them. I can't recommend Lightroom because you are using Vista, and Lightroom 5 cannot be used with that operating system. It may be time for you to get a new computer and upgrade your software.

You aren't saying what the problem is. Which of your expectations are not happening. Have you Googled Mobee to see if other people have your problem and have reported it. Have you tried to conract Mobee direct.

The Text Tool is not working in Photoshop CC

When I try to use the text tool nothing happens when I type even though the font size is 12, and the color is black, on a white background, and then when I try to get out of the text tool a progress bar shows up that says "Rendering type", and the progress bar is not done until for 15 minutes later. After that no text shows. I tried to wave the text tool cursor over where I used it previously, and the cursor does not detect any text in the area.
This is a brand new install of photoshop, I haven't done any customizations to it.
My operating system is a Mac with OS X 10.7.5.
Things I tried already:
- I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling Photoshop CC, and Creative Cloud.
- I tried changing font size, color. Each took 15 minutes because of the rendering type progress bar.
- I tried changing to main fonts like Verdana, Arial, etc.
- I did the steps on this Font troubleshooting page:

These were the steps on that page:
- Make sure Photoshop is the most recent version.
- Turn font preview off.
- Remove specified fonts known to cause trouble.
- Empty the photoshop font cache
- Empty the operating system font cache
- Try removing all but one font on the Mac, and keep rest in another folder.
- Use their font test script.
Now the only font I have in my Mac Fonts folder is Arial.ttf
I did all these things, and the problem still happens. Every other tool is working for me though! I need to use photoshop for a graphic design job I need to get done. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I found out the problem! When I pressed "File" > "New" to make a new document I typed in 1000, but I'm used to the measurements being in pixels, not inches. The new install had it in inches lol. The canvas was humungous! Once I set it back to a smaller size the text tool worked great! I feel silly I over looked that!

The type tool is not working on new projects - although I can use it on an existing one?

i need help using this tool, the reading tool, when i try to activate it in the VIEW menu, and then selecting "read only this page" only generates an error or the program shut down. i have installed already the complemet for reading but its still not working i have the 10.1.7 version.
When i check in the help menu, the option "about plug-in in adobe" says tha the readaouloud.api is not loaded, but i just cant find where to activate it.

The eyedropper tool does not work with a hue saturation adjustment layer

I am using PS CC 2014, and the problem I am having is that when I want to use the eyedropper tool to adjust the colour range affected by a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, rather than selecting the colour in the Properties window for the adjustment layer, use of the eyedropper closes the properties window and changes the foreground colour in my palette.
Here's the real hitch... the same thing happened to me at school last night where a) the Mac's are older and b) CS6 is still used.
It's something with my user settings, to be sure, because the prof logged into his account on the Mac I was using in class to test it out, and it worked for him; we logged back into my account and it still did not work for mine.
Any ideas?

Indeed Trevor, that did solve the problem. Clearly it was something I changed... wish I knew what. But, I have a list of all the settings changes I made before, so I can figure it out by making one at a time then checking...

The Split tool is not working for me?

I need to split one shot into two or maybe more shots.
I where choosing the split tool and I mowed it down to
the timeline, and I mowed the pointer down to the Timeline
and I where clicking in a point in the shot. The same working
procedure as I normally do when I´m working with FCP.
I have no idea of what`s wrong, but I really ned to find the
solution.

If you did this inside a "Send To..." workflow you just completely hooped the XML return trip.
Do not use the "Split" tool unless it is in a non-FCP workflow, and even then it might be better to synthesize that action with a keyframe.
Do not attempt to edit anything in COLOR.

The pencil tool is not working correctly

I've been making my drawing with the pencil tool obviously. After I make a stroke, I continue it with the last anchor point. But sometimes when I do that, the previous stroke disappears completley. Why is that?

That's because Illustrator has got a pretty lame understanding about what should happen when you continue a path in certain angles while the Modify selected paths option is turned on inside the Pencil Tool options.
You can disable that option but I can imagine that this is not what you're really looking for.

The type tool is not working

I upgraded from PSE9 to CS5 and I can no longer view any of the fonts or use the type tool in either program. What do I need to do to fix this issue? Thanks for any help! Cindy

The obfuscating tool Dasho not working with jre 1.5

I have a issue that Dasho (newer and old versions )does not work with JDK 1.5 . Earlier we used JDK1.4 version in which it works.
Have anyone faced this issue or worked the dasho please give some idea .

We made the move from DashO to yGuard (for various reasons)
before we made the move from JDK 1.4 to JDK 1.5.
Google suggests DashO supports JDK 1.5, even JDK 1.6; [DashO change log|http://www.preemptive.com/dasho-change-log.html].

Spot healing brush tool luminosity not working as expected?

I have a question about the content aware spot healing brush tool:
The normal and replace mode work just fine as expected... the color mode does indeed a fine job fixing the color cast of i.e. small green or purple lens flares, by picking up the surrounding color.
The next mode after color, called luminosity, should work in the same fashion: it should pick up the surrounding brightness (luminosity), and adjust the relative brightness of the area to be patched (i.e. reduce the brightness of a small lens flare, and preserve the texture underneath).
Instead, luminosity doesn't work much different than the normal mode, it creates a new texture (based on content aware or surrounding area), and thereby destroying the original texture, instead of just fixing the local brightness.
My question for Adobe: is this behavior intentional? or was the luminosity mode "overlooked" by accident?

Here are some examples of how the brush is working in a real world example:
As I have mentioned, normal, replace, and color work exactly as expected. color in LAB mode works even better than in RBG mode.
what is not working as (at least by me expected) is luminosity mode (even if the color mode brush is used first). I thought/had hoped for that the luminosity mode would work some magic without creating new textures (the color mode is only very very lightly adding a new texture).
I just wanted to hear what the logic behind this mode is... (and possibly find a 1-2 click tool to fix those lens flares.)

The hand tool is not working in certain sections of my screen where there are selection buttons that would normal show the hand tool

E.g. on this submission page there is cliveeb Inbox Other Apps where logically you'd expect the handtool to materialise when hovering over these areas. Nothing happens which means I cannot select those "buttons/drop downs".

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar or the Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.
