Help - The screen's gone black!!!
Hmm not sure what I've done here. I have FCP6.0.4 installed, I was entering settings to allow my Canon camera to communicate when I sneezed, selected something - no idea what! - and hit the mouse button the screen went black with just a white outline of my mouse arrow visible. I waited...nothing... so restarted....
Now when I try to start FCP the program goes through it's boot-up sequence, the the screen goes black again!!! What have I done? Can it be recovered?
Press APPLE-F12. This turns on and off FULL SCREEN mode...when you are in Digital Cinema Preview...which it sounds like you are.

We have iPhone 4 and I plugged phone into after market hardwired plug in car (that we have used successfully for two years). The screen has gone black and wont turn on. Phone was charged. I have tried force quit- home screen and top button. iTunes is not recognizing phone when I plug into computer. help pls
FIRST charge with an Apple charger for at least 15 minutes. Then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears. Hold for up to 30 seconds. If nothing happens the phone hardware has failed.

My iPod touch suddenly stopped working. It was fine earlier, but when I went back a few hours later, the screen had gone black and I was unable to turn it on. It is now unresponsive and my computer does not recognize it when it is plugged in. I thought it just needed to be charged but there seems to be a larger issue now. What should I do?
Let your ipod die. Then when it is dead charge it adn turn it back on. After that it should be fine.

I'm trying to backup my iphone and restore it because the screen has gone black. It won't allow me to do anything without putting in the passcode. I can't put in the passcode because the screen is black.
Try rebooting it (hold home and power together for 15-20 seconds). If the display doesn't come back to life, you're out of luck. You're supposed to back it up before it fails. It's too late to do so after the fact.

My i-pod won't charge or start, black screen, is this battery failure. If so can a new battery be fitted and is it going to be cost effective
Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
Apple will replace the battery for $79
A third-party place like the followiong is less expensive.

I recently updated my Ipad 2 to IOS 8. Yesterday I was playing Candy Crush Saga (No sniggering) and put it down to do something else.
I returned to find the screen had gone black, but was still illuminating. Tried to wake it up, but with no success. I then tried holding the power and front button together for up to 30 seconds to try and reset it. This didn't work, although power to the screen cycles from off black, to illuminated black whilst trying this.
I then connected it to my laptop and downloaded IOS 8.0.2 on the laptop and transferred it to the iPad. Got a warning that this wasn't successful as the iPad was locked and needed its passcode put in. Obviously couldn't do this as I can't see anything on the screen. Pressed the retry option on the laptop and it seemed to work. This still didn't unfreeze the iPad which still shows a black screen.
I then tried doing a factory reset on it from the laptop, got the the same passcode error message, retried and was told on the laptop that the reset had been successful. I still can't get a screen on the iPad however. laptop shows the iPad to be 100% charged.
I've looked through the help files and tried connecting it to a power source, the hold both buttons to reset trick and a factory reset, all to no avail. I had a similar problem a week ago, but that was resolved when I plugged it into the mains.
It's only 18 months old and has been well treated, and as it was working when I last left it so can anyone helop me get my iPad working again? Is the battery empty ? If it is then it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond.
And by had reset do you mean pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons ? If so then how long did you hold them for - it can take up to 10 to 15 seconds. -
My ipad screen has gone black and I don't know what to do the screen still works and I can still unlock it and I can still type. But I don't know what to do can anyone help me it will be much appreciated
If the reset doesn't do it then it's possible that the backlight or another part of your screen has broken. Unfortunately it's not really user servicible. I'd make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out. If your device is still under warranty and they don't determine that the damage was the result of 'abuse or neglect' (their words) then it could be a free replacement.
I'd just do a backup before you take it in, just in case. -
My screen is gone black on my mac book Pro.when I restart I get the chime but no picture mac.can any help get me going again
Is the TV at minimum a 1080p with an HDMI port?
What is your Machine ID? DO NOT give us your serial number. We just need the x and y values of the Machine ID in your system profiler as given in this format:
MacBook Pro x,y
This will tell us what display cables can connect to your TV. -

You can access iCloud.com on a computer to turn it off.

My iPad screen has gone black. I have tried resetting it with the sleep and home buttons and it only flashes the apple on the screen for a nano second and then it goes black again. I can even hear notifications arriving, but I cannot see anything...I'd rather not reset it to the factory settings as I have a lot of things I worry about using. Either way seems to me that the system itself is working since I can hear it working, but its the screen that isn't. It has not been dropped and has been in a case for years! Please help!
When the power is on and I press the home button, I can slide my finger where the slider bar "would be" and it makes the noise as if its "opening" flashes a blue screen then returns black...

my iphone 4's screen has gone black, like it would if i had turned it off except i have'nt turned it off and i cant turn it on or anything. can anyone help?
Try a reset. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button + Home button for around 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
Let me know if this helps.
