Help the unknowing with Raid- cant install windows!

Hello all-  I am new to all this but...
I hope someone can help...I just built a new computer using a K8N neo4 (7100) with a 4400+ X2 and maxtor diamondmax 10 sata...amongst other things.  I had been using an old copy XP home but decided to buy xp professional and do a clean install with a slipstreamed CD.  I have tried with the sata drivers slipstreamed and the f6 method, but every time I arrive at the "installing devices" segment of the GUI setup- windows installs the wrong driver for my hard drive (a new hardware found wizard pops up) and I get a BSOD...
Amongst my research- I have used this page pretty heavily because it seems to be my problem-
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=51140&st=0&p=356029&#entry356029
but I seem to be missing a driver somewhere or something.  The funny thing is that a basic xp home setup will do the same thing but struggle thru setup and fix the problem after I boot into windows.  I have tried a lot of things with and without nlite- but I am not sure if I am doing it correctly.  I integrate the drivers for textmode in the setup- but do I need to physically copy them to setup folders before I create the iso??  Any ideas?  thanks for your time-

Thanks for the time-
my bios is 6.0 pg
my power supply is here-
http://www.masscool.com/masscool/Product.aspx?ID=249
...I will work on getting these in my sig.  So my hard drive has a bad history with this application??  In that case, maybe I just need a rock-solid recommendation around 200 gig and I will just upgrade, or just change my boot drive.  Anyway I suppose I could nlite my standard XP Pro and add the service pack from there...but my perfectionist side really hates that.  Thanks for any input-

I just purchased the Mac Mini Server with the intention of replacing Lion Server with Lion for the first hard drive while installing Windows 7 thru Bootcamp on the second hard drive. Is it possible for me to do this? Thanks.

I would use Parallels or VMWare and use the second drive to hold the virtual machine. That way the VM only uses the space that it needs and you can still use the remainder of the drive for other things, not to mention that you would not need to reboot to run windows.
Also Time Machine does not back up a boot camp partition.

Hi Andreas,
Please specify your hardware and software. Running OSX? Which version? Old hardware/new hardware?
It is not sure what your problem is: is it that the CD will not eject? Or is it that the winbdows cd is not installing?

• SCCM 2012 Report that shows the users with specific software installed

Hi,
Is there a report in SCCM 2012 that shows the users with specific software installed? The report should show username, machine name and the software name. I am looking for a report that shows the users with the following softwares installed:
1. Adobe(all versions)
2. Photoshop(all versions)
3. MS Project(all versions)
4. MS Vision(all versions)
Regards, Lorin Davis

Take a look at the Asset Intelligence reports in the software section. You may get a list of computers with a product installed, and you might have to use that list to find the primary users based on user device affinity.

• (OS X Lion) cant install windows on HD with multiple partitions

I have installed os x 10.7 lion the day it rolled out from the app store and everything was good. But now, I decided to re-install windows 7 on my macbook on lion.  I currently have 2 partitions: 1 for media files and the main partition for the os files.  But I cant use boot camp because it keeps on notifying me that i can only have one partition so I could install windows through boot camp. Is that the thing with lion, when I was able to do the same with snow leopard?
Now, I figured that I could not really do anything about and decided to install windows on a single partition and everything went well, though I am still sick that I had to copy everything on one parition.
My next question is: how come that after everytime I get to install windows, the partition does not recognize it anymore after I try to divide the mac partition on disk utility? Here's the scenario, I am able to install windows properly, so I boot to the lion parition and divide it into 2 through disk utility (making the total number of partitions to 3), so I could have one partition I could access both on windows and lion, but after that, when I try to boot windows, the system does not recognize the boot camped anymore.  Do I have to stick with just 2 partitions(1 for lion and 1 for windows)? Or there is something wrong with my windows installation?
I am certain that I do not erase the windows partition as I can still the files on that partition through the finder.
I am in need of serious help here. Please.

Greetings,
Use Fusion, or Parallels. They are better for running Winblows, and you don't have to reboot in to it, you simply run Win 7 as an app. I have tried Boot Camp, a few times since it first came available, and it has always been cumbersome, and problematic, to use, and allows typical Winblows issues to happen. Running Win 7 virtual seems to not have those same issues.
Until I retire, soon, I still have to use Windows, along with Macs, Linux, and UNIX, but after that, it all goes, except for the Macs - no more headaches.
Give Fusion, or Parallels a try, they are cheap, and work really well.
Cheers,
M.

• Cant install windows with 2 hard drives attached

i have an sata drive that i use for boot drive and ata for back up. i can not install windows on the sata drive if the ata drive is hooked up. windows only sees the ata drive. it will not give me a choice to install on the sata. if i unhook the ata i can install just fine on the sata. does anyone have any ideas why?
it's like when i have windows installed on the sata drive, then the windows xp pro cd does see it and lets me install on that drive only, it won't let me choose sata or ata. but if there is no OS installed on anything it only goes to the ata drive. i only want to install windows on the sata drive and do not want to keep unhooking my ata drive constantly when i reinstall windows on the sata.
can someone please help?

Danny you don't have to stay out, I just already said stuff and you told me to do something i already said i did.
Here is my current settings to get it to show my ata drive in windows and i boot from the sata cus windows is on it. currently when i install windows if no OS is on either drive it will auto install on the ata and i don't want that. i want to have a choice what drive and where to install on which means i would always install on the sata drive. but it just installs on the ata not giving me a choice. if windows is installed on the sata already then it will offer me that drive only and not allow me to select the ata. when i do a complete reformat reinstall i must unhook the ata drive and then it will work on the sata drive.
on chip ata mode - legacy
ata config- sata only
sata keep enabled - yes - greyed out. i had to mess with other native or something mode and change it to yes in order to get it like this and work for me. why?
pata keep enabled - yes- adjustable
pata channel selection - both
combined mode option - pata 1st channel - greyed out
sata ports definition - p0-1st./p1-2nd. adjustable
config sata as raid - no, greyed out.
is this a weird set up? and exactly how do i get it so i never have to unhook my ata drive again?
each drive they are all on their own channels. ata by itself, dvdrw by itself and sata by itself. all master.

2x Maxtor DM10 Sata 160gb Hard drives

Ok i can setup the raid as Raid 0, striping 64k.

windows scans my hardware, i press F6.
it loads some stuff.
It then asks for the nv-raid drivers, i press s.
insert the floppy load the 2 drivers. (tried orignal floppy that came with board and the 6.66)
press enter.
it loads some more stuff.
then it gets to the point where it says windows is starting...
then it hangs.
it will stay there for ever if i leave it.
ive got no idea what to do..
please help.

Ok, I just went through this mess with my neo2 f. Go to nvidia website and get nforce 5.11 drivers and extract to folder. Go to IDE then WinXP folder. Copy everything in WinXP folder except raidtool to a blank floppy. Use these drivers for raid setup at f6 prompt. But first set up nvraid bios just like the user guide says, but shut down PC just after you hit Ctrl+X to exit raid set up. Boot back into MB bios and go to hard disk boot priority. You should now see your raid array listed below the two individual hard drives. Select raid array and use + key to move raid array to priority 1. Boot PC and hold F11 key down, set it to boot to cdrom, boot and hit F6 and load both drivers when prompted and you should be good to go. It took me 5 days to figure this out. The drivers on floppy from MSI are no good. The drivers from MSI website are no good, and to top it off, they leave out a critical step because you have to go back into the bios to set disk boot prioity to your raid array. Hope this helps.

• Cant install windows with boot camp

I had a new hard drive put in my moms macbook. I had the old drive cloned and then put on the larger hard drive. I want to install Windows in bootcamp, I did this before on the old hard drive with no problem. Now when I try and run bootcamp I get this message:

I went into disk utilities to see how the hard drive was formated and it appears to be extended (journaled):

I am a bit confused as to what to do now, the first time I had no problems at all. Any help would be appreciated.
this is running Leopard with the latest updates.
Thanks

It has to be formatted using GUID - your second shot shows "Apple Partition Map" (APM) instead which won't work.

• I cant install windows via Bootcamp because I get an error. Help?

Every time I try to install windows with Boot Camp assistant, I get the error:
The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.
I looked at my Disk Utility and I only have one partition. I tried something out in terminal which lets you see hidden partitions and I saw that I had a second partition labeled EFI but that shouldn't be affecting Boot Camp Assistant right?
Anyways does anybody know how to fix this I really want to run windows natively on my macbook.
