HELP!! This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone. You may experience noise interference and a decrease in cellular signal strength
Ive seen loads of people with this issue and no luck.
Basically as of yesterday, The message
This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone. You may experience noise interference and a decrease in cellular signal strength"
appeared and wont go away. I have nit used my headphones for a month so i cant think of anything that has triggered it.
Solutions I have tried..
Making sure my phone isnt on mute.
Letting the power dye and re charging.
plugging in head phones etc.
Still no luck.
Model is iPhone 3GS 16GB.
My mum's phone had that message too. I googled it. Sometimes the connection becomes dirty due to dust, dirt, water or a combination of all three. It is recommended to clean out the connection using a clean, dry brush, like a paint brush.
It worked for her
I hope that this helps

Hello abyjohn,
I would be concerned too if the speaker on my iPhone was not working, and if I was getting a message about the accessory not being optimized. I found an article with some steps to take when you are experiencing issues like this.

After that warning,my sound is off (ipod, youtube, cam) my ipohone doesnt have sound, just in headset and in ringtones.
Try cleaning the dock connector with a dry toothbrush. You most likely have grit or lint in it that is shorting the connection.

This accessory is not optimized for this iphone message
"This accessory is not optimized for this iphone - you may experience a decrease in cellular signal strength" keeps popping up on my phone. I haven't tried to put any accessories on my phone other than the charger that came with it and my ipod cord that I already had. I have reset the phone with the home and sleep button but this did not help. The message pops up like every 10 minutes or every time I try to text. It's getting to be quite annoying....any suggestions?
Get a new unused tooth brush and clean out the dock connector area at the bottom of the iphone. I have had this haapen before and there is probobly lint causing it. Cleaning it out fixed it for me.

I keep getting a pop-up. This accessory is not optimized for this iphone.... A dismiss button makes it go away but it keeps coming back periodically.

If you get this message when you are using a "Works with iPhone" accessory, make sure of the following:
Make sure the packaging for the product says "Works with iPhone" and not "Made for iPod".For more information about iPhone accessories and the difference between "Works with iPhone" and "Made for iPod' accessories click here.
The iPhone dock connector is free of any debris.
The "Works with iPhone" accessory's connector is free of debris.
The iPhone is securely connected to the accessory—that is, it is not sitting crookedly within an iPhone dock and making only partial connection. -
I have a 16GB 3GS phone since about20 months now. For the last few days, my phone is constantly giving me message that the accessory attached to my phone is not optimized for this iphone. You may experience noise or poor communication, while there is no acessory attached to it. I always used standard headphones and charging cable. Now when i recall, it started at one of the sync sessions with my itunes. I have turned my phone off and aon again and again but the message keeps coming every one or two minutes.I have also started loosing voicce on different applications like youtube etc. Also the ringer volume up and down key does not show me the small boxes increasing or decreasing on screen. The phone is playing crazy. Can someone help please
Thanks
ZiaIt helped earlier but it has come back again. I don't know what to do. I tried what you said earlier but this time even this is not working either. And quite intrestingly my phone won't turn off. I turn it off, it goes off and then restarts on its own and then keep giving the same message again and again.
Could it be a charging cable, is there any chance that the cable which was working fine one day could turn to be "incompatible" with iphone the other day????????
Please help -
Was just checking my iPhone and when I pressed the home button to wake it up the message "no sim installed" was on the screen, obviously it was so I restarted the phone, that cleared it but then I started intermittently getting a popup message "this accessory is not optimized for iPhone...(don't remember the rest), did a hard reset and still happening once in a while, there isn't anything plugged into or connected to my phone at all though, would appreciate any help or advice please
The most common reason for message "this accessory is not optimized for iPhone" with nothing plugged in, is dust, debris etc. in the iPhone dock port. Clean the dock port with a clean dry toothbrush. If the message returns again, clean the dock port again very carefully using some isopropyll alcohol, especially the pins which are on top of the dock mid rib.

This accessory is not optimized for this iphone - JBL on stage lllp
iPhone 4
iOS 7.0.4 (11B554a)

Hi,
i've got a problem with the iPhone 4 and the "JBL on stage lllp", the message "This accessory is not optimized for this iphone" appears after connecting it to the docking station. Only the battery is charging. After a reboot with "docked" iPhone it works fine till the next unplug and connect.
It sounds like a software problem to me.
Thank you for your help.
SaschaiPhone 4s.
iOS 6.1.2
I also have this problem.
I'm sure I read that the iphone 4s was supported before I bought it??
My 3GS running 6.1.6 works fine docked into the JBL on stage lllp.

I didn't know about this...
Any one got any ideas or solutions?
Many thanks. -
My iPhone 4 no longer connects to my car or alarm clock after a recent sync to my computer. The message at I get when trying to. Connect is "this accessory is not optimized for the device" or something like that. Anyone know how to fix this?
Hello there philp_69,
If I understand correctly it sounds like your phone hasnt been recognized in iTunes on your PC since the last couple of updates. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article which will walk you through the steps one by one.

My iphone 4 started displaying a message box with the following message: "This accessory is not optimized for this phone. You may experience noise and loss of battery." My question is: Why is this happening and how do I fix it? (I'm losing battery power precipitously). Thanks in advance for any assistance with this question.
Thanks Kilted Tim, you solved the problem. I'm mightily impressed at the simplicity of the solution!

How To Fix "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone" Error?
How To Fix "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone” Error?
Clean the iPhone dock port with a clean dry tooth brush. If the warning occurs again, clean the dock port very carefully and thoroughly with isopropyll alcohol, especially the pins which are on top of the dock mid rib. If still warning, then take iPhone to Apple for Warranty service.

How to deleted warning this accessory is not optimized for this iPhone
How to deleted warning "this accessory is not optimized for this phone"
You cannot delete it, it is a valid message.
The issue may be that the dock connector has dust/lint in it or the pins are bent. Try cleaing the connector with a soft dry brush.
This assumes that the "accessory" that is generating the message is optimized for iPhone. -
I get a message that says "this accessory is not optimized for this phone" how may I get rid of the message?
A lot will depend on what "accessory" the message is "not optimized". I get this message when my Mophie Juicepack is depleted, recharge it and no problems. Till the next time it is drained of course. That might give you hint of the issue. If you tell use what device you might be using when you get that message, we might have a different suggestion.

This accessory is not optimal for use with this iphone keeps popping up on my phone how do i stop it?
Can be caused by lint, dirt, or foreign material in the dock connector port and it doesn't take much.
Can also be caused by damage to the pins in the dock connector port including moisture damage.
