Your internet connection depends on access to a wifi network. When you leave your house you go out of range of your own network, so the only way to connect is to find a free or paid public wi-fi service in the location you are in at the time; the alternative is to use your iPhone for what is called 'tethering' (providing a wifi signal you iPod can connect to) but it you have an iPhone you would want to use that anyway (and many service providers don't allow it - in any case it comes expensive as you are using a mobile data connection).

I can't get the music from my computer onto my ipod

Okay well I have a newish computer and i recently downladed a few songs from itunes on my computer. The thing is, it won't transfer the songs onto my ipod. Online it looks like it's doing so but ig i look under what's on the device or just go look at my music on the ipod, they don't shpw up. I have like 6 songs I really want to transfer and when I called apple asking for help they sent me instructions that didn't end up helping me at all. I'm at a loss for wat to do. I tried backing up the files on my computer and syncing the ipod to the computer multiple times. I've also manually tried selecting and moving over the songs and it just won't.
Any thoughts on what to do or why they won't move over? Thanks

How do i resynk the music from my computer onto my iPod touch?

I did an update a couple of months ago. Recently I went into my music and it was COMPLEETLY empty; even the songs I bought from the itunes store. My iTunes thingy on my computer is saying that those songs are still in my music, but their not. Please help me, I'm lost without my music when I'm away from wifi (with wifi i listen to pandora). Any sugestions? I'll take any.

My Ipod Touch 2nd Generation Froze And Is Trying To Install ALL Of My Apps!

A few hours ago my ipod touch 2nd generation froze, and then it took about 15 minutes to unfreeze. Now it's working very slow. I soon realized that it's trying to istall ALL of my apps I've downloaded since I got my ipod. I had to attempt to shut off the wifi so it would stop. right now over 25 apps are on Pause. I don't want to restore my ipod because I last did a backup about a few months ago. My computer is out of memory, and it's a very slow computer. I recently send an email to apple because of an issue I had with two missing itunes store purchases that it deleted off of my ipod when I connected it with itunes. They never emailed me back and it's been over 24 hours. Could apple be attempting to send me back ALL of the things I've purchased and downloaded with my account? If they are, IT'S NOT FUNNY

Set you 2nd iPad from your 1st iPad. If you have your music in your iTunes library, it's easier as you can set it up as a new device and then go to music>sync all music.
Once you set up you 2nd iPad from your 1st one, if you want do not want the other setting to be synced, turn it off. For example, in apps, uncheck everything and you can get rid of them.

I have already tried following those steps. I went back and tried to follow them again but they did not work. Some of my songs have synced, some have not. If I were a teacher setting up iPads to be used at school/work, I wouldn't link it to my personal iTunes, rather I'd create/use a different one. If for no other reason than to keep the kidlets and your fellow teachers from possibly accessing your account.

This problem happened to me a month ago. The way I used to fix it:
1. Go it DFU Mode. For going into that, check this page.
2. Connect your iPod to your PC which has iTunes and iTunes will detect your iPod in recovery mode.
3. Press Shift + Restore if you have the .ipsw firmware file downloaded on your windows PC or just click Restore and follow the instructions to download the firmware file.
4. Wait and finally you're done!

You are as far as you can be with the original iPad; only iPad 2 and greater will update to 7+
