HELP: tile printing without borders?

Hi,
I'm trying to print out a research poster designed at 4.5 feet by 5 feet, and I want to have it tiled onto single 11inches by 8 inches paper. However, I can't find a way to get rid of the borders that is around each page after tiling - it's white space surrounds each sheet. Is there anyway to get ride of this border?
I've attached a sample picture below. The boarder I am referring to is the white space surrounding the picture.
Thanks alot for your help!!

I think I'm seeing tile registration marks printing in that white space. These are 100% normal and are added to allow you to trim and align the tiles. When you print tiles, there is normally some overlap so you have some glue surface rather than trying to butt two cut edges together. This, coupled with the marks, takes space and pushes the number of tiles required beyond a simple grid. You can change the overlap to 0, but as far as I know you can't remove the marks, so even on a borderless printer they will leave a small white border. When you print tiles you should expect to trim.

Im trying to print 4x6. In the print module there are 4 margins. Each defaults to 0.13 in. This creates a white border. It does not let me slide these to zero.
I have it cropped correctly (4x6 aspect) and have zoom to fill checked. Ideas please?

You should find those instructions in the Printer manufacturers user manual. In Lightroom you can select "Printer" bottom right hand corner when you are in the Print Module in Lightroom.
That will make your printer dialog box pop up then you would probaly have to choose properties to access the various options provided for your printer.

i am trying to print 4 x 6 inch photos using photo paper with the appropriate orientation and selecting the 4x6 inch option for size but i cannot seem to print without borders, how do i print photos on photo paper without borders

Hi @DOCMCG, thanks for reaching out to the HP Forums!
Based on what I could find in the printer Specifications, Feel free to take a look using the link above, simply click on Paper Handling. You will see that the only mention of borderless is B5 paper (7.17x10.12).
    When I look under margins, I see the following;
The document margins must match (or exceed) these margin settings in the portrait orientation.

Thus, I suspect borderless is not supported. I believe you can choose 4x6 tab and used tabbed paper., but I am not 100% certain.
    I hope this is helpful.

  • How to create a custom pattern that tiles without borders

I know that I can save a pattern as a swatch and use it as fill, but how to create a shape that tiles without borders?
My pattern now has closed paths on its edges which show up in the tiling. I don't know how to create it with open paths.
    Thanks for your help!

    rahneo,
As I (mis)undersatnd it, you may Direct Select and delete the unwanted path segments.
Deselect first before (each time) you do it.
Otherwise, you may create a nofill/nostroke rectangle covering the exact part you wisg to have in the tile and bring it to the bottom of the stack of objects that forms the tile.

  • CSC Helps Teachers Without Borders

    Hi All,
Cisco Support Community invites each of you to join Cisco in lending a hand to Teachers Without Borders.  The non-profit connects teachers to information and each other to create local change on a global scale.  The program is simple.  Each time you TAG a discussion, document, video, blog we'll donate $1 to Teachers Without Borders.  The program will run for 90 days or up to a maximum donation of $15,000 USD, whichever comes first.
Why are tags important?  Tags are a way of categorizing and making content easily searchable.  As a rule of thumb, tag content with words or phrases you might use to search for it later. Over time, as users apply the same tags to various  types of content, it becomes easier to locate that content since it is  grouped into a category represented by the tag.  Now when you do, you'll also be helping Teachers Without Borders.  We'll track our progress here in the community and on Facebook, so you'll always know how we're doing.

PS: Enable "Quick Tagging" to make tagging easier.  Just follow these steps:
    1.  View your Profile
    2.  Click "Edit Preferences" in the Actions menu
    3.  On the General Preferences tab, it is the 3rd Option down

    All,
I wanted to share a message from Teachers Without Borders about what they did with the money raised from CSC.  You should all be proud for helping this great cause.  It's amazing what we can do as a community!

Teachers Without Borders is very grateful to the Cisco Support Community for your donation, which will directly support teachers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Your contribution helps us support teachers who, at almost 60 million worldwide, constitute the largest professionally-trained group in the world and are proven multipliers of social change. They are leaders, role models, defenders of human rights, and promoters of peace, social justice, and the power of education. They know who is sick, missing, orphaned by AIDS, swept up into the sex trade or military gangs. They know the children, they provide hope, they are the key to the future. That is why they need our support. Since teachers are multipliers and pillars of strength in their schools and communities, support for a single teacher can foster the well-being of hundreds, even thousands, of learners and their communities.
Your donation makes it possible for Teachers Without Borders to continue to offer teacher development programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. Specifically, the funds will support teachers in rural Kenya and Uganda by providing access to relevant face-to-face professional development workshops and resources that can help them better support the students in their care.
We are grateful for your generosity.

  • Tile printing, please help!

I'm trying to print an image and am using Illustrator for it's tile print tool. I'm using A3 13x19 paper, tried to use as much out of 4 sheets as possible, but had some of the image chopped and looking for a way to print just the missing parts in 2 sections, hopefully only using 1 sheet of paper and then cutting it out.
So, I've printed (really expensive) 4 sheets, but have that middle part cropped out. Can I isolate that part, print in the same scale so I end up with 4 large prints, and 2 small strips in between? Thanks for any suggestions!

It looks like the full width of the image will fit in the height of the paper. Rotate the paper in the Media section (above Options, where you have Tiling turned on) and turn off Tiling. Drag the image in the preview window until it’s positioned as you want it.
Next time, use an overlap value higher than 0. Your image will not print on four sheets positioned as you have shown it, but it may fit on four, or even three, sheets rotated.

  • Print cell borders- Numbers

I just started using the latest version of Numbers on Macbook Pro. I want borders printed around selected cells for ease of reading. I have tried suggestions found in help forum but NO borders print and do not appear in print view. I have tried on the toolbar and using the inspector. Help.

    Hi Daylene,
Is this the effect you're looking for? The image is of the top left quarter of the screen.  The Numbers document has a single Sheet, containing a single 4 column by 10 row Table. The visible data are cell addresses of cells in the table. Cells whose address is not shown are empty.
The view below is of the same document, but with one of the table cells (B7) selected, making the table Active. Active tables show their cell grid, and show the column and row Reference tabs.
The example started with a Plain style table no Header rows or columns). Cell borders were set in a few steps:
    Select the whole table
    Open the Table Inspector
Click the 'outside borders' button (highlighted) in the Cell Borders section.
Set the stroke thickness to None.
Click the 'inside borders' button (immediately left of the highlighted one above)
Set the stroke thickness to None.
Apple delivers a couple of excellent resources with the iWork applications—download links for each application's User Guide and for the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide.
You'll find the link for the Numbers '09 User Guide in the Help menu in Numbers.
A search on 'cell border' should take you to an appropriate page, containing the article referenced in my reply above.
Reading the first few chapters of the Numbers '09 User Guide will also introduce you to Header Rows, Header Columns and Footer columns, the first two of which are likely what you're referring to as "the side and top bars." Cells in these rows have useful properties not shared with the 'regular' cells in the body of a table. You can have a 'plain' table without these rows (eg. the one in my example above).

    Barry

  • When I try and print an "Approach Plate, or Departure" from ForeFlight to my Epson Stylus NX430 using AirPrint the image is resized. How can I print without it resizing. I want to have the plate print in the original size so I can use it.

When I try and print an "Approach Plate, or Departure" from ForeFlight to my Epson Stylus NX430 using AirPrint the image is resized. How can I print without it resizing. I want to have the plate print in the original size so I can use it. Is this an Apple, Epson, or Foreflight Issue? I just purchased the printer so I can return it and get a different model or brand. I spoke to Epson and the suggestions given did not resolve the issue. I have cut the paper down to the size of the plate roughly 5.5x8 and it still try's to print at 8.5x11. I have also requested help through ForeFlights Tech help but have yet to receive an answer.
    Please help!

It varies based on what you ordered and whether it is in stock or has to be assenbled and shipped from China. Your email conformation should give an estimate of when the items are expected to be shipped or available for pick up if you are having it sent to a local Apple Store.

Check the App Store to see if the printer manufacture offers an app to allow you to print to that printer. If you have a Mac, you might also look at Printopia.

  • Is there any way to print directly to a wireless printer without a wireless network?

My daughter is in the dorms at a university that doesn't allow individual wireless networks and I am trying to figure out if I can print directly from her MacBook Pro to the HP Photosmart Premier C310A.  Can anyone help?

I am currently using a USB connection, but that keeps me tethered to the printer.  Which is something I would like to avoid.  I was looking at creating an ad hoc network with the MacBook, but I don't know Apple products well enough.
Is there a way to wirelessly print to the printer without an internet connection?  Will an ad hoc network work? Can an ad hoc network even be done with a MacBook?

  • My illustrator crashes when I try to tile print

This seems to be a simple function, yet illustrator hangs for me while trying to tile print a larger document on 8.5x14 paper on my Canon inkjet. Is this something anyone else has experienced? I remember doing this 20 years ago and it worked fine. Maybe adobe used to test their software better back then.
