HELP-Time selection tool acting crazy all of a sudden

Hi all, Audition CS6 is suddenly acting strange on me! I am editing an audiobook, and have to pull dialogue from a male character from another open file to insert into my larger raw narration file....so I go back and forth between these two files quite a bit, but have to stay in the place I left off on each one....normally, this works beautifully; when I switch to view a different file and go back to the previous "still open" file, the time selection tool remains in the same place I left it...but suddenly, it has started remaining at the time I left it on the PREVIOUS FILE... when I return to the other file. Wow, let me rephrase that incase that was too confusing. If I am at, say, position 02:14:12 on file A, and then open file B, and copy a piece of audio, leaving the cursor in THAT file at position 00:00:45, when I switch back to file A, the time selection tool is now at position 00:00:45, rather than where I left it. Again, it didn't used to do this (as in didn't do it last night even!) I tried restarting the computer, and that didn't fix it. I am not aware of changing any settings, but I'm guessing I must have accidentally hit the perfect storm of keystrokes to engage this "option."
BTW, I thought it might be the Preference-->Playback-->Return playhead to start position on stop (not that I had changed it) but that does not fix it either.

Souinds like the "Synchronize across files" preference got enabled. Open Preferences > General and uncheck "Synchronize selection, zoom level, and playhead across files in the Waveform Editor"

Can someone explain to me how to disable "Time Selection tool" while in Waveform editor view. I am skimming through audio recordings of various meetings and time selection tool is looping playback ( while skimming quickly )

Not quite sure what behaviour you are seeing. But no, the Time selection tool cannot be turned off since it is the only available tool for selection in the Waveform view.
To stop looping make sure that the looping icon is turn off in the Transport tab, green arrow bent back on itself.
To skim through the audio quickly you can either user your left click key to select the Playhead cursor, yellow heart shaped icon in the Time bar at the top, or by using the Right arrow key on your keyboard.

Adobe Muse keeps crashing every time I publish any website all of a sudden

Adobe Muse keeps crashing every time I publish any website all of a sudden. Not just for the website I was working on but now all my websites. It was working perfectly fine and when I hit publish it just crashes. I have multiple copies and different websites and they are all crashing when I try to publish. It seems like it is not an error for just the one website I was working on but the entire program is not functioning correctly. Here's a screen shot of the error.

Mac or Windows? What's the error that appears? If it's an Apple Crash Report, please copy/paste the first few pages of it here.
I strongly recommend against it (for multiple reasons below) but if you uninstall Muse, then go to the Creative Cloud Desktop App, and choose "Previous Version" in the Find New Apps section there will be a dropdown arrow next to the Install button. That dropdown will list all versions of Muse.
If you've saved over top your existing file using the current version, reverting Muse won't work, since older versions cannot open files saved from newer versions. If you've don't significant work in the current version, that will be lost because you'll have to go back to the file as last saved using the prior version of Muse. Finally, there's a significant probability that error/crash is related to content in the file, network configuration, or other outside forces and if that's the case reverting won't avoid the error/crash.
If you share more info about what error you're encountering, I expect we can determine a workaround/solution.

Help! Selection tool functions switched / reversed!

This is driving me crazy and impeding my work.
The functionality of the selection tool (v) and the direct selection tool (a) have apparently switched. The selection tool behaves exactly like the direct selection tool should (example: click-dragging a selection over a point or path selects that point or path, not the whole object). The reverse is also true: the direct selection tool behaves as you would expect the direct selection tool should (example: click-dragging a selection over a point or path selects the whole object, not the point or path.
Platform: MacBook 2.4 Ghz, OS 10.6.5, CS5
Attempts at fixing: Deleted preferences for Illustrator (multiple times), including quitting Illustrator and restarting machine
Also, I went so far as creating a new user on my Mac, opening Illustrator, and testing the selection tools. Under a different user, these tools behave as expected, the selection tool behaves like the selection tool should, the direct selection tool behaves like the direct selection tool should.
Google and forum searches have yielded no help.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

1) Quit Illustrator
2) Delete preferences
3) Restart Illustrator
I have tried deleting these files and folders:
1) user/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings
2) user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS5
Perhaps there's some preferences file hierarchy that I'm not aware of, and I
need to delete a file higher up this hierarchy? Like
"com.adobe.CSXS2Preferences.plist"?

Please help me with adding a white background with my pic, am not even sure if i should searching how to perfectly use the selection tool or how to add white background, I need to add a solid white background to my pics but when i try they dont turn out so well, here is a pic, thats the best i have gotten, what am i doing wrong? Selection tool acting differently than expected, what did I press?

I must have selected a preference inadvertently, because I'm getting some different behavior from the selection tool. When selecting a box, for example, I get two sets of handles instead of one, and this makes resizing and snapping to where you want it to go want almost impossible.

You toggled "use preview bounds" on, which will include the stroke in the size of an object. Look in the flyout menu of your align panel for the toggle to turn it back off.

HELP! Selection tool problems cs3

Suddenly my selection tool(v) will now only select as the direct selection.
How do I fix this?

It looks as if you've accidentally hidden the bounding box. Go to View>Show Bounding Box, or keyboard shortcut command [control]-shift B.

Time Machine backup painfully slow all of a sudden

For some reason my time machine backups have become painfully slow for some reason. They were fine earlier today, then IIRC I booted windows, then booted back into OSX to run a backup. Despite there being only 1 or two changes (files added to the system) time machine began "preparing backup" by going through all the files on my HDD! Now, it is backing up, but at the rate of about 5 Kb/s!
Something is wrong. I've tried deleting the progress file in the backup folder and "resetting" TM by deselecting the backup drive and selecting it again. Nothing worked. Why would TM be so slow all of a sudden?
Has anyone any ideas?

That is a bit suspicious, but not necessarily wrong. Something caused it to think about 16 GB had been changed (it adds 20% for the "padding" in the message).
How are you running Windoze? Is it on a separate partition? If you're running it via virtualization software, with the vm file on an OSX disk but excluded from TM, that's a possible explanation.

Those counts are nearly always very high, and sometimes crazy high. There's some indication it's counting all the metadata, extended attributes, etc., as separate files.
If in doubt, boot up from your Install disc and do a +*Repair Disk+* on your boot volume. Then reboot normally and run another backup. That should trigger a "deep traversal," where TM will compare everything on your system with it's backups, to be sure it's got everything it should.

Zoom tool acting crazy (Photoshop CC 2014)

Hello, all. I'm starting to go crazy here. Whenever I use the Zoom tool in Photoshop CC 2014, it zooms in continuously and doesn't stop zooming until it reaches an absurdly zoomed-in level (like 3200%). And when I try to zoom out, the reverse happens, and zooms out all the way to a tiny size. I the past I was able to zoom in standard increments of 25%, 33.3%, 50%, 66.7%, etc. but now I can't hit any of those numbers.

One thing to note is that the zoom tool works properly when I use my keyboard shortcuts (Command and + or - keys) but when I use the mouse or laptop trackpad it goes haywire.

This feature is known as Scrubby Zoom. By default, the option is enabled, but you can turn it off by unchecking it in the Options Bar (when the Zoom Tool is selected):

Then I tried to Pwned DFU mode to restore, not work. Then my brother said, use TinyUmbrella, using TTS server thing, still not work. Fire Fox started acting weird all of a sudden what can I do?

Fire Fox is being redirected all the time while I'm searching on Google, and its not just one site its multiple sites. It is constantly asking for site certificates on sites like PayPal, and Yahoo, when I have been on these sites multiple times before with no problems. Also when I finally do get through to a site after going through multiple pop ups about the site certificates it looks like Firefox has blocked most of the content and java scripts.

HELP!Use the calenders and all of the sudden everything is gone!

I synced to computer and nothing restored.

What IOS are you using?
I'm not clear what the relationship to the synching and the lost calendar entries is.
Were your calendar entries missing before you synched the iPad to the computer?
What else changed from the time when the entries were there and when they were missing?

Time Machine dong full backup all of a sudden - why?

I have had time machine going for months, from both my Macbook and my Mac Mini, and this AM I noticed that it is doing a full backup, instead of the incremental backup it normally does. Yesterday, I updated this Macbook with the latest iDVD update, and I installed iLife '11 on my Mac Mini, but that's it. My Mac Mini uses a referenced iPhoto library on a NAS, but that is a different NAS drive than the time capsule. The only thing the time capsule is used for is or backup.
Could the upgrading of my iPhoto library on my Mac Mini have messed something up?
I will see if my Mac Mini does a full backup also.
Thoughts anyone?

MBP acting weird all of a sudden!

I'm sitting at the airport today and my MBP goes crazy, it cannot connect to MSN Messenger (yes I was connected to the Internet ), Safari and Software Update get blocked and I had to "force quit" them. Also, when I'm scrolling a webpage in Safari, parts of the screen go completely white...
Could this be because of a software update or just plain madness?

More likely that the Public wireless access you were using was blocking some Ports ...
