  • Help me find out the error in my first hello application

    Hello every body !!!!
    I am new to JEE.I am competent on JDK and also have worked on Tomcat JSP,servlet.
    But i am having problem running my first JEE programme.
    I have Sun Java System Application Server 9.1 with NetBeans 6 on WinXP.
    I have used NetBeans 6 hence those comments are there.
    Below are the code i have used:
    In the hello-ejb module i have following Bean and remote interfaces==>>>
    package hello;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    @Stateless
    public class HelloBean implements HelloRemote {
    private String name="Yoodleyee";
    public String sayHello() {
    //return null;
    return "My Name is "+name;
    // Add business logic below. (Right-click in editor and choose
    // "EJB Methods > Add Business Method" or "Web Service > Add Operation")
    package hello;
    import javax.ejb.Remote;
    @Remote
    public interface HelloRemote {
    public String sayHello();
    In the Hello-app-client module i have main()==>>
    package hello;
    import javax.ejb.EJB;
    public class Main {
    @EJB
    private static HelloRemote helloBean;
    * @param args the command line arguments
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    // TODO code application logic here
    System.out.println("Hi "+helloBean.sayHello());
    since this program does not require deployment descriptor and also NetBean creates its own deployment discriptor hence i have not written any.
    While the BUILD is successfull.But when Run this application I get deployment error.I am pasting the error stack below:

  • JNDI in ActiveX : javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow() can't work ?

    Hi All,
    I got a big head ache of this problem for several days, much appreciated if
    I can get help from you.
    The problem is, I wrote an EJB and already deployed it into Weblogic5.1. I
    also wrote a java EJB client to access this EJB. Everything seemed ok at
    this moment.
    The problem occured after i convert this EJB client to ActiveX and test it
    with Microsoft ActiveX Control Test Container. I log each step in the
    ActiveX, and find the problem is caused by
    javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(). Below is my source code and log
    information. My environment is Server side(weblogic5.1),Client side(java

  • InitialContext and javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject

    I've been trying to locate a very annoying problem that I get when I try to bind remote objects in JNDI. I have now located the problem but I have no idea why this causes a problem or how to fix it. It seems that creating an InitialContext has different effects depending whether I create an instance of javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject before.
    Here's what I am doing...
    1:Context ctx = new InitialContext(); //Create Initial context
    2://Instantiate remote object (extends PortableRemoteObject and stubs gen with rmic with -iiop flag)
    3:Hello hello = new HelloImpl();
    4:ctx.rebind("hello", hello); //Bind to JNDI
    5:System.out.println("Object bound!!!!!");
    This code works fine. The problem occurs when I try to instantiate the remote object before creating the InitialContext for the first time (I.e. I move line 3 to the top) I then get the following exception:

    I assume the problem is in the javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject's (HelloImpl's) constructor since that is the only code that's beeing executed. But how could that effect the instantiation of the InitialContext? I should also say that it seems that it is only the first time that an InitialContext is created that is critical. If I create on instance of it before instantiating the first PortableRemoteObject, all subsequently created instances of InitialContext succeed in binding remote (RMI-IIOP) objects.
    Can someone help me understand why this happens and how to avoid it? I don't want to have to create an InitialContext the first thing I do in the code. It seems the PortableRemoteObject constructor somehow changes the configuration in a way that makes the bindings fail... How? Why? Can I prevent it from happening?
    Any input appreciated!
    Kristofer

    my bean is running in my EJBServer, and I have it in the classpath of the RmiRegistry (which runs as part of my server). The RmiRegistry is an actual ".bat" file that starts an RMI Registry (I assume).
    The client is not a bean and is run like this:
    java com.titan.cabin.Client_1
    All it does is create a cabin and then read it back. It works, it not only gets the context, but also creates, persists and reads that cabin bean.
    Is it because java automatically finds all RmiRegistries running on the computer? This makes sense, but I read on java.sun.com that you need a stub class for your clients. And if it is true, then how does it get the context and remote/home interface of a bean on another server?

  • Javax.rmi.*;

    Hai...,
    I have a problem of API javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject;
    when I compile a class using java 1.3, it can't find the API,where I should find this API?
    if in java.sun.com where is it?
    Thank,
    ciou, sudarto

    Hi,
    javax.rmi.* is contained in J2EE. Please use docs like http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/index.html and http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/index.html to find any such packages.
    So, as EJBs are part of the J2EE you should not be surprised to additionally download the j2ee.

    hedtfeld.

  • Cannot find javax

    Hi I hit 2 problem here...
    1) My jbuilder got corrupted when I closed it without saving my project and I hit the following error
    "Fail to start Java VM:193"
    May I know how am I going to revive it back??
    2) Left without any choice, I compile my java file from the jdk1.3\bin directory... and I hit this error--( basically I import javax package and I compile them in dos mode using javac.)
    testAppln.java:10: package javax does not exist
    import javax.*;
    ^
    1 error
    I had include those classpath that store all the javax folder but still I cannot compile successfully.....Pls help.........:((((

    The rt.jar that hold all of the "standard library" classes, java... javax... Are not part of the "user" classpath. Instead, they are part of the "bootClassPath" so the users don't have to worry about it.
    So basically if you can't find javax.*; for an import your installation of the JRE is messed up. You can try to set the bootClassPath to the path of rt.jar and see if this is true with the following command.
    java -XbootClassPath:c:\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar MyMain
    experiment with that, and see if that works. Or just reinstall :)

  • Orion primer: javax.rmi.CORBA.Util not found

    Hi,
    I have been trying to run the orion primer (hello-planet) on the most recent release (9.0.3.0.0), but I am getting this error when trying to access the app:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/rmi/CORBA/Util
    I have followed the directions on the orion web site. I am running on jdk1.2 so I had to add jndi.jar as an extension so I am wondering if I need to do something similar for this class, but I can't find info on where this class may be stored (which jar). I have manually looked through the different jars that came with oc4j, but can't find this class (it is possible that I overlooked...so many jars).
    ***While writing this I decided to run on previous release (9.0.2.0.0) and it worked.......
    but why does the default-web-site.xml work on this release, and the http-web-site.xml work on (9.0.3.0.0)?
    so I guess my question is now, Why doesn't this app work on newest release, and should I continue to test apps on 9.0.3.0.0, or go back to previous?

    Linda,
    I just tested this app with 9.0.3.0.0 and it works fine. Please try with JDK 1.3.1 and above. From 9.0.2.0.0 we decided to have http-web-site
    as the default web site instead of default-web-site. In the prior versions i.e. 1.0.2.2 and 1.0.2.2.1 we had default web-site. However if you
    want to create more websites e.g. default-web-site then you can do so.

  • Can't find javax.ejb

    Our instructor has given us a sample program that demonstrates ejbs.
    I could get it to run on the school computer but when I try at home I get the error:
    C:\includeEJB>c:\Java\bin\javac @HelloEJBOptions @HelloEJBclasses
    HelloEJB\ejb\Hello.java:13: package javax.ejb does not exist
    public interface Hello extends javax.ejb.EJBObject
    ^
    The instructor has us compile the code with the following batch file:
    :: Compiling EJB code
    c:\Java\bin\javac @HelloEJBoptions @HelloEJBclasses
    :: creating the JAR file
    cd HelloEJB
    c:\Java\bin\jar -cf  ..\Hello\HelloEJB.jar *
    cd ..
    :: Compiling Web code
    c:\Java\bin\javac @HelloWeboptions @HelloWebclasses
    :: creating the WAR file
    cd HelloWeb\web
    c:\Java\bin\jar -cf  ..\..\Hello\HelloWeb.war *
    :: creating the EAR file
    cd ..\..\Hello
    c:\Java\bin\jar -cf  ..\Hello.ear *
    cd ..
    pauseI believe the school computer uses j2se sdk 1.4.2 and that's what I have installed on my computer.
    I believe the error I am getting is saying that the compiler can't find the javax.ejb class. Is this a correct assumption?
    If so, why? Do I have the wrong java version? Does it have to do with the classpath? I am at a loss and have tried downloading j2se sdk 1.5 and j2ee sdk 1.4 and still get the same error.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I am still trying to find the package javax.ejb. Can anyone please explain what directory I would find this package. I can find the javax directory but I don't see the ejb package included. Should it be listed where I can see it,, or is it something that is down in the directory further? If it should be present in the javax package and I'm not seeing it, can I download just that package from somewhere?
    Thanks in advance for any help. I'm sure that I'm doing something basic wrong so please don't be afraid to give me the most basic help. I have tried downloading J2SE SDK 1.4.2, J2SE SDK 1.5, and J2EE SDK 1.4 and always get the error saying the compiler can' find javax.ejb.
    I'm almost positive the code is fine because it ran on the school computer, but I'm still not ruling that out.

  • Cant find javax.vecmath!

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to compile a very simple java3d example (Simple3D.java if anyone recognizes it). But it doesn't compile, because it complains and can't find javax.vecmath.* Why is this? I mean I can run Swing code, and all other 3D code. Where do I download javax.vecmath separately?
    Very grateful for help!
    / jez

    Okey I found it at last somewhere on the net. Crazy thing I didn't get it in the Java3d download... But anyway :)
    Have a good day!!

  • Need help in finding a font for a logo

    I was looking for help in finding a font for my logo. I'm not a designer at all, so I'm calling on all the fine designers and folks on the Adobe site to help me out. All replies are, of course, appreciated and any suggestions/comments/ideas will be welcome.
    I'm designing a logo for my film company. I wanted to keep it simple but not boring either. I put together the first draft of the logo using Photoshop CS3 and used Trajan Pro for the film company words (Panthera Films) and used Futura for the slogan ("Inspiration through Imagination"). While I don't mind the fonts, it's simple but, alas, too boring. I love the panther image but need a dynamic font for "Panthera Films" and a complimenting font for the slogan.
    Can anyone recommend a good combination of fonts to replace the Trajan Pro and Futura? As well, I want to give the logo a nice presence without it being too loud, bold or jumping off the page. As well, should the font for "Films" be the same as "Panthera" or can they be different?
    The image I attached is something I was thinking to use as a banner on a website.
    Any help would be appreciated too with this
    TIA,
    Dale

    Dale,
    As I said, I like it too.
    You may consider making it a bit heavier, maybe bold, for readability at small sizes.
    It is hard to recommend a specific font because it should represent your company and what it stands for. Have you tried typing the name in a word processing application (Worst or something better) and then running through all the font you have? If not, that might give you a few new thoughts about the overall kind of font you feel is the right one. And then it is much easier to recommend something.

    You are not addressing Apple here. We are all just users like yourself

    No app on the iOS device is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod/iPhone/iPad on the iOS device in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected or cellular data is on and connected for, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iOS device and have the device play a sound via iCloud.
    iCloud: Erase your device
    iCloud: Use Lost Mode
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the device and report to police and carrier if iPhone or cellular iPad
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the erase (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 or later on the device. With iOS 7 or later, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.
    - Apple will do nothing without a court order
