Hi, I need help to reinstall my Acrobat Standard X
It was factory installed by Dell few weeks ago and I had to reformat my computer.
Nolw I want to reinstall it but I don't have any CD, just a SN

I had to reinstall Acrobat Standard 8.0. It will not update and I cannot manually update it.

The link to manually update to 8.1 does not work. I'd like to update to 8.1.7.

To manually update AA8, you can go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. Start your downloads with the most recent update and note what version is needed for that update. Then download back to the version you have. This process allows you to figure out which updates can be skipped. Then install the updates in order. You only need to reboot after the last update. If this is the process you tried, the other need is generally to log in as the administrator and disable anti-virus.

Reinstall Acrobat 8 Standard after computer crash

I need to reinstall Acrobat Standard 8 following a computer crash. How can I do this without running afoul of the "activate" process because I have already activated and registered the product. I do not want to have to purchase new software, but just reinstall and re-activate my current software on a recovered/reformatted hard drive. IMy operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

Just give it a go anyway, there's a fair chance it will work, if it doesn't you will have to call Adobe, the program will give you a phone number to call.

Where can I find the Install File for Acrobat Standard 9?

I am trying to reinstall Acrobat Standard 9, but can't locate the Install File for Standard, only for Pro. Can anyone tell me where the file for Standard is kept?

As far as I know the older versions of Acrobat Standard are (still) not available... I've seen discussions where that's debated but I have yet to see anyone report finding the file.

Adobe Acrobat Standard v 8 works, but print-to-PDF does not

I've been trying to migrate my main computer usage from an XP desktop to a Windows 7 laptop. I've had Acrobat Standard v 8 on both computers for years but have rarely used the laptop. (I mostly used the laptop as a dumb terminal to reach through the internet to my desktop.) Now I'm determined to make the laptop into my daily WORKING computer.
I see that Acrobat Standard works on the laptop (opens files, deletes pages, etc.) but I cannot print anything to PDF. When I try to print (from Notepad, Word, or anything) the "Adobe PDF" printer shows as my default printer. But nothing happens. It doesn't ask for a filename and the printer window (?) shows error on printing.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Standard 8 in January 2013 when it had stopped working altogether (opening a PDF would flash open then close/crash) which was probably caused by "a friend" installing an unlicensed (or wrongly licensed) version of Microsoft Office 2010. I uninstalled all of that mush and put a new version of Office on (2013, licensed). I don't recall if the print-to-PDF has worked since; but I suspect not.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
I'm afraid to uninstall and reinstall the whole Acrobat again. Someone once told me that you can only re-activate your license so many times and then one day it won't reactivate. And since my version is so old and has been reinstalled after virus cleanups (reformatting system disks), I don't know if Tech Support will fix that sort of activation problem. That last thing I want to do is use new software, or have to go to a non-Adobe PDF editor when I already have software paid for. And yes, I have the original Acrobat Standard v 8 CDs.

1. I don't care about the button in Word; just trying to get a PRINT-TO-PDF function going.
2. The CD installed 8.0.0 even though I have 8.1.4 on my other computer (the XP desktop I'm trying to make obsolete). I will try to find upgrade downloads somewhere.
3. I tried to use the original CD and do a "Repair" option (not remove nor install). It went through the motions and would come up with an error. So I googled and found the article titled "Error "The file AdobePDF.dll is needed" | CS3 | 64-bit Windows" (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-file-adobepdf-dll-needed.html) and applied the directions for Windows 7 64-bit version (which my laptop is), but the fix didn't work.
Still researching, and #2 above looks like the best next course of action.

Acrobat Standard Ver. 7 Not saving Default preferences.

Seeking help on why Acrobat Standard Ver. 7 Not saving Default preferences. Specifically, the zoom level. It always reverts back to something other than the 100% I set it at. The operating systerm is Windows 7, Pro if that helps.

As I recall, you are the first person who has reported even getting AA7 to work in Win7. Any operations with that combination are likely to work with luck. I assume you mean the preferences set under the edit menu. You might try changing AA7 to run in compatibility mode and see if that does the job.

Help reinstalling Acrobat 9 Standard?

I recently had a hardware malfunction and had to replace my Surface Pro. I purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 and want to reinstall it on the new tablet but cannot find a link to the installation files. I have the serial number in my Adobe account but can only find install files for updates.
Can anyone direct me to the full installation link for Standard 9?

During the install of an upgrade, you should be asked for the serial number of the previous version. You should always keep backups of downloaded software and the serial numbers. As long as you registered, Adobe should be able to help you with the serial number. I am not sure why the Std version is not available for download. The Pro version is with a little searching. Though not said, I wonder if the Pro version would install with the Standard SN and work as standard -- I really don't know, but some software vendors wrap all of the versions into a single distribution and the only difference comes with the serial number.

Downloading, Reinstalling Acrobat X Standard

I have a PC that came with an Acrobat X Standard License but no media and the program is not on the PC. How do I download and reinstall Acrobat X Standard with my license when I have no media?

The Acrobat Po is completely different from Acro Standard. The serial number for acro standard will not work on acro pro installer.

As far as I know there is no web access for that download. If you did not save the install file to a backup, you have probably lost the software, much like throwing the install CD away. Sorry. Maybe you have a friend with the install disk.
However, if you are wanting to install in on one of the new OSs, then AA8 may not be of any use anyway as it is likely not compatible.

How to Reinstall Acrobat X Standard OEM

We recently bought 40 computers for our company that came with Acrobat X preinstalled (and cards with their serial #s for reinstall for each). To simplify their roll-out, we sysprepped them all and now want to reinstall Acrobat X Standard on them using the licenses/serial #s we have on hand. But I can't find ANYWHERE to download Acrobat X Standard to reinstall - please help!

As we don't offer a trial of Acrobat X Standard, there isn't just a full-time available download source unless the licenses were purchased directly from Adobe as ESD. Your best bet is to contact the OEM who provided the machines to see if a copy of the software was provided with the computers (buried on some installation disk) or if they have an ESD available.

You won't be able to install your original Acrobat 7 at all, or use your original serial number. The server which used to allow this was switched off.
But assuming you have a compatible system, like Mac OS 5 or Windows XP, licensed users of Acrobat 7 can download a replacement and get a replacement serial number.
