Help to revert to previous version

Stupidly I upgraded to 7.0.2 the other day, I have now had enough of my PC crashing, I tunes failing to update the Ipod and now its just lost all 6000+ tracks in my library and wants me to remap the lot. To be honest I neither have the time or the inclination and want to go back to my old version, any suggestions on how I can do this as I am not even sure what it was. Just remember, there is probably someone more stupid out there than me, somewhere.
Thanks in advance.

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

Firefox 4 overwrote previous version in Applications folder, now will not run on my system. HTF do I revert to previous version?

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Reverting to previous version of Numbers

Is there a way to revert to previous version of NUMBERS? I am using MAVERICK and I want to go back.

You can have the iWork '09 apps be the default but still have the new apps installed. After I installed the new iWork updates I created a folder on an external drive & named it "other applications." I then moved the new iWork apps to this folder & renamed the applications Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. I have icons for two versions of Pages & Numbers (I rarely use Keynote) in my Dock. Even with two versions of Pages & Numbers running, double-clicking an existing file opens in Pages 4.3 or Numbers 2.3. This will also keep the Mac App Store from nagging you to update.

  • Hate Safari 4.  How can I revert to previous version?

I can't count the ways that Safari 4 is a pain. I'll just go with Firefox if I can't revert to previous version. Any directions to get me back to the older version?
    Thanks!

    Couldn't agree more.
As only having my macbook for less than a month starting with Safari 3, everything was a dream. Now since the update with Safari 4, i'm doing everything but enjoying my new macbook, trying to figure out why my gmail doesn't work, looking everywhere trying to figure out how to uninstall this CRAP FING BROWSER!
Thanks for already wasting 2 days of my time with this crap. I wanna smash my new macbook against the freaking wall.
As a newbie, it takes along time to figure anything out on a new system.

  • I wish to revert to previous version of Firefox. Version 5.0 is not compatible with Google Toolbar

I upgraded to Firefox 5.0 and now have no Google Toolbar. I'm not sure what else is disabled as incompatible, but I want to revert to my previous version. How can I do this without losing my settings and plugins? I could not find version 4.0.1 on Mozilla's website. Only version 5.0 appears to be available.

Firefox version 4 (4.0, 4.0.1) is no longer supported.
'''The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up''', you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.

  • Help w/ revert to old version

I have a 60GB Video iPod and it updated to 1.2.3
now I can't download movies or video to it that was on it before
how can I delete the firmware in Leopard, I have 1.5.2, for the iPod to revert to the previous version?
I am not going to reformat every video in my library to work on an iPod, that is a waste of time.
    Thanks for help.

You must be referring to the new Photos application.  You just upgraded to 10.10.3, right?
You should still have iPhoto on your MBP. And you should have a library that it can open, iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary.
Better yet, recover your iPhoto Library from the backup made just prior to upgrading to 10.10.3.  You will need iPhoto 9.6.1 to run with 10.10.3.
What version of iPhoto did you have before upgrading to 10.10.3?  If it was not iPhoto 9.6.1 you'll have to  go to the App Store and download it.  Delete the current iPhoto app before you go to the App Store. This post by user Tom Perking may help:

I just went through the situation of not finding iPhoto 9.6.1 in the App Store.  Working with Applecare, the solution was to (a) delete the iPhoto app, (b) restart my iMac, (c) go to the App store and click on Purchases, and (d) reinstall iPhoto.  In my case, for some reason, iPhoto was hidden from my purchases.  Go to Store > View My Account, and go to Manage for Hidden Purchases, where you can unhide iPhoto.  Once I did that, things seemed to work okay.

  • IBooks 3.1-all PDF books in my Collections disappear after updating to 3.1 on iPad 4 ios 6.1.2! How do I recover or revert to previous version? (Can one do selective restore of back on iTunes?)

Just updated iBooks app on my iPad 4 to ver 3.1.  Upon launching iBooks 3.1 briefly saw my PDF books on my Collections bookshelves then they suddenly disappeared! (Purchased Books are still present)
How do I recover all my PDF titles in my Collections?
Can one revert to the previous version of iBooks?
How can one do a selective restore from iTunes backup of iPad on PC? (Don't have iBooks running on Mac/PC)

You've tried tapping on the Collections button at the top of the bookshelf to see if they are in a different collection ? If not then do you have a copy of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library (though PDFs aren't iTunes purchases, if you've done 'transfer purchases' whilst they were on the iPad then they should have copied over) ?
ibooks and PDFs aren't included in a device's backup, so if they aren't in your computer's iTunes library and/or you don't have your own backup copy of them then they won't be on your computer (for info there isn't an iBooks app/program for a Mac or PC).

  • Had to revert to previous version of Flash to regain HD in video.

I dual boot Xp and Win 7.  Win 7 is fine but after updating to flash version 10.2.153.1 in Xp the high definition videos became unwatchable (herkyjerky).  I reinstalled everything...drivers etc., even reinstalling XP but it was useless.  As a last resort I decided to reinstall the previous version of Flash Player...or the one that I could find and it was version 10.1.102.64.  Suddenly it all runs like a dream again.  I realize my video cards are aging...I have 2 Asus 8800 512 gts's in sli, but they should be more than enough to play internet video easily.  My cpu is an Amd dual 6400+ 3.2 ghz and that shouldn't be a problem.  There is a definite problem with this version of Flash Player.  I'm just glad I finally figured it out...Thanks

  • Can I uninstall Safari 4.0.3 and revert to previous version?

Apple updated my Safari yesterday and now my bank website says it's an unsupported browser (it was fine with 4.0.2). Also, since the update, Glims has stopped working for search engine functions.
Is there a way to revert to the previous version of Safari (I don't use Time Machine)?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the forums!
In future please start your own thread - it can be confusing to deal with more than one problem in the same thread!
Those who for some reason do not want to continue using the fastest, safest version of Safari (4.0.3) and want to revert back to an older version, can do so by performing an archive and install:
    How to Archive & Install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
But there may be another way, BUT this is for TIGER users only:
Download Safari 3.2.3 from Apple's Download page. http://support.apple.com/downloads/Safari3_2_3_forTiger
    Quit Safari.
    Delete Safari
Delete the receipts file at /Library/Receipts/Safari4.0Tiger.pkg
    Empty Trash
Mount the Safari 3.2.3 dmg file and install it.
    Restart your Mac
    Repair permissions
All should be good with Safari 3.2.3.
I am unable to verify whether this works. Try it and post back with results!

  • Revert to previous version after update

How do I revert iTunes to a previous version after an update; I don't like the fact that they changed it to strictly a player-only and one cannot access things like the Radio stations, etc. any more.

I'm looking for a way to go back as well.  With each new rev, iTunes becomes ever more nebulous.
I still burn CDs...but the new version makes this difficult.
In past versions of iTunes, the total time of a playlist was shown in the Status Bar and could be toggled from a rounded total (e.g."1.2 Hours") to an exact total (e.g. "1:20:23")
In 'the new itunes', the total time length of playlists seems permanently fixed ion the broad value only. (e.g. 1.2 hours).
This is terribly inconvenient if one is going to be burning a Playlist to a CD or DVD-A.   Where 79 minutes would fit on a CD, 81 minutes will not.....yet 'the new itunes' will show both only as "1.2 Hours".  Very inconvenient if one is now to be forced to manually add track times together in order to decide if a playlist will fit or not.
How do I get 'the new itunes' to show me a more useful total?  Or has Apple now decided that we aren't going to burn CDs any longer? (Surely, by now you can figure out on your own what my opinion of that might be.)

  • Revert to previous version of CS6 not happy with 12.1

How can I revert back to the previous version of Dreamweaver? CS6 12.1 is not what I need

Uninstall Dreamweaver. You can then open the Adobe Application Manager to reinstall Dreamweaver. By default, it should install the original version. However, you need to be careful when the Application Manager advises you subsequently that updates are available, because you'll overwrite the original CS6 if you automatically accept all updates without first checking what they are.
I suggest that you submit a report through the form at http://adobe.ly/DWBug explaining (politely) why you're uninstalling the Creative Cloud update. I think that sort of feedback will be useful to the engineering and product team. Alternatively, you can summarize your dissatisfaction here, and I'll pass the details on.

  • Version 4.0.1 - can i revert to previous version?

hi just wondering if its possible to revert back to my previous version? any ideas? thanks for looking! (MY Phone is 3gs)

yes there is a way. i figured it out a few days ago. first download the firmware 4.0 from a site. then go into itunes with your phone plugged in AND ON (do NOT put in recovery mode).. hit shift, update. find the 4.0 firmware you just downloaded. it will take a minute but you will downgrade right back down to 4.0. when it completes, a screen should pop up saying there is a new update available (4.0.1) & asking if you want to update. CLICK CANCEL. then you're done! if you want to make sure it worked, go to your phone--go to settings-about-software. it should say 4.0. hope i helped

  • Using Time Machine to revert to previous version of iTunes

    Hi everyone,
as many of you will know, iTunes 10.4 is very buggy (I and from what i've read, quite a few others are having problems with adding new songs to the library, in other words, they keep being deleted or disappearing.)
What I want to know is, is reverting to a previous version of iTunes simply a case of going back to an older version with Time Machine, clicking on the iTunes icon in Finder > Applications and then letting the OS do the rest, or should I first delete my existing Library and then do the Restore?
    Any tips gratefully accepted.

I use a Imac desktop and online time machine backup with Mozy for my work. If I purchase a snow leopard laptop, would I be able to access the time machine backup files with it?
yes. you could access them in browse mode. control-click on TM in the dock and select "browse other TM disks". this will let you browse backups of another computer and restore what you want where you want to.
Could I clone the whole computer if I wanted?
TM does have a full system restore function but it should not be used on different model computers as it will result on a nonbootable or malfunctioning system. but you can use Migration Assistant on the original computer setup to migrate your data from the old computer to the new one.
I'm looking for a system where my computers could be portable workstations. Any ideas?
Time machine is a completely wrong tool for this. it's for backup, not syncing.
you can use some sync tools to sync some specific data folder (NOT the whole computer). the easiest is a cloud syncing solution like DropBox. or you can use and external drive with a folder syncing tool like Chronosync.

  • How can I revert to previous version of iTunes

How do I revert to a previous version of iTunes.  Just loaded the new one and I don't want to have to learn the software all over again.  From what I see so far I hate it.

Also, if I can do that without destroying my library and files, it would be great!!

  • 7.1 update drains battery on iPhone 4, can I revert to previous version?

Ever since I updated to IOS 7.1 (I can't find the version number on the iPhone itself) like many users, my battery no longer lasts 3 days, but drains at about 3%/minute, even with all the apps and location services switched off. Can I revert to the previous version please? And, if so, how? Thank you for allowing me to use the phone without switching the entire phone off 99% of the time! Thank you for any assistance that you can give me on this very frustrating problem, over which Apple is sure to lose customers!
