Help to Salvage Sent Emails

I was wondering if someone would be able to help me? I've got an over-sized sent mailbox which displayed the message, go online to download from server. I have read several articles such as:

And these have helped me to at least get my mail programme restored and working again as normal. I work from 3 POP accounts and moved all three sent item mailboxes from the library folder onto the desktop. I copied all three onto an external HDD and followed the instructions to open via Show Package Contents with the three I saved onto the desktop.
One of the mailboxes, my main one, took ages to copy across to the external HDD, which leads me to believe that this is has all the messages in it that I need to have access to.
So, with the one on the desktop, I've opened it up removed all files except the mbox one, moved these to the trash and emptied trash. Then moved it back into the mailboxes folder in the library and then re-opened Mail. I waited as recommended and nothing happened. It says, 0 messages. I selected Rebuild Mailbox and nothing happened?
I know the messages are definitely in the mailbox that I copied onto the external HDD & probably in the file on the desktop, I just can't work out how to get them. If anyone can help me at all, I'd really appreciate it.

Did this error message occur with the Sent mailbox for each account?
If not, there was no reason to remove the Sent Messages.mbox from within each account named folder.
Since the Sent Messages.mbox has the same file name within each POP account named folder, I assume you created 3 folders on the Desktop to store each Sent Messages.mbox?
For the account's Sent Messages.mbox that took ages to copy across to the external HD, please list the package content file names and size of each for the copy placed on the external HD.
If some messages and message attachments are stored in any of the other package content files except for the mbox package file, deleting all other package files except for the mbox file deletes most if not all of the messages contained in the mailbox.
If this is the situation for the backup copy of this large Sent Messages.mbox, there is an mbox breaker script you can try using on this mailbox which may work to recover all messages.

Please help! My sent emails are going to the original sent folder, and a copy of them is added to a folder called "sent messages" whenever I go to iCloud.com! I need help! You could but I'm not sure it would solve anything. You might want to try going to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turn Mail to Off, then after a minute or so turn it back to On. This will remove and re-add your iCloud email account and may fix things. Then try sending a test message and see if it gapes to the correct Sent folder.

You can't send emails? Do you receive an error message when you try to send them? Have you done ANY troubleshooting on the device at all? If you don't have time to try things yourself, it will almost certainly take longer to try it in here.

I have an iMac running Yosemite 10.10.1 & Outlook 2011 for Mac. For a while, sent emails went to a sent folder on the iMac so I have a collection of sent emails there. How can I move them to a sent box on my server so I can see them on other devices?

Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Universal Access and in the Seeing tab make sure that the Display Enhance contrast: is set to Normal.
Alternatly, try holding the ⌃⌥⌘ (control command alt) keys and then pressing the , (comma) key a few times.

How to dump deleted emails and sent emails. Thank You

Greetings, When I delete my email it goes to trash and then I have to delete them again one at a time, isn't there a dump click available, and the same for sent emails that one does not keep. Thanks for this help.
PS I am a new user, had outlook express on my last computer.

trash and junk have a right click empty option. So it is not one at a time. Holding shift when you delete will bypass the trash folder, but there is no undo if you get it wrong when you accidentally delete the inbox instead of a single mail in it.

I had to refresh my computer, now after re-installing thunderbird, I only see my emails in my inbox, but not my sent emails or addresses.

First of all....well done on all your hard work, keep it up! I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for a while now...and don't plan on stopping...it's amazing!
Okay.....soo the problem....
My laptop needed to be refreshed...as it was almost getting to the point of "the Blue Screen of Death"
I had to re-install my Thunderbird with the 24.5.0 version... I am using Windows 8
HOW....do I get my sent messages (which were saved in my sent folder in my previous version of thunderbird), as well as get my Addresses from my address book..?
Ofcourse I don't have a saved or backed up file of the previous settings...messages....addresses etc....
but I do see a "windows.old/users" file though.....and I've read many....many different Mozillazines.....as well as even tried to read - Restoring a profile backup / Restoring to a different location - But that required me having to locate a backed up profile.....which again..i wasn't able to back it up.
I lost my software like Office and Adobe...however all my files and folders of pics...music....letters for work etc etc...have all be restored onto my desktop.
I have looked through many pages of your forum but I haven't been able to find an answer.....
Any help..??

The Update --
I have all my Mail in One of my accounts (work)....but not all the Mail in the other account (aka my Music account).....
Both I've set up again..using your advice...and changed both now to IMAP..
Originally after refreshing my laptop, when I set up Thunderbird....I used the POP settings.....and that's when I messed it up.....
but using IMAP now....I've gotten more of my old emails .....in my INBOX.....not all.....but most....YIPPIE
My SENT emails....in my Music account.....have all disappeared.......I've looked in both sent folders...in POP...and IMAP....and nothing is there...
However my sent folder of my work account...I have SOME of the sent emails...
Address books....Collected and Personal folders.....I have NO Email Addresses at all.
Sooo now even though I am getting confident we will solve it.....I still have 4 accounts....aka...2 Work (POP and IMAP).....2 Music (POP and IMAP) until you tell me to delete or change one from each.....
BOTH IMAP accounts.....do not show new messages...when they come in....however the POP shows it.....I did read that If I deleted the POP to change to IMAP I will not be able to get emails.....sooo not sure what to do about that issue now....
Is there an "automatic" backup feature for Thunderbird...?? All this could have been soo prevented if I did that....sheesh...

Entourage 2000 - sent emails are not appearing in "sent items" folder

I am using Entourage 200 with POP account. I have the preference for "save copies of sent messages in the Sent Items folder" clicked since I install it a year ago. But a couple of days ago, all my sent emails have vanished. Even new emails I compose and sent out are not appearing in the "sent items" folder. I did hit "option" when openning the program and everything verify ok. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

What is the size of your Entourage database file? Entourage uses a single large database to store all application data and I believe Entourage X has a 4 GB database size limit.
Does hit the option key when launching Entourage perform the database rebuild function? If not, do a search with Entourage help with "rebuild" for instructions.

I can't find older emails in my Yahoo account or iPhone app BUT I am able to see them on my Mac Mail version of email. sent emails are OK.

... for the past few months i have noticed that emails in my inbox Yahoo mail account older than a few weeks keep disappearing. i cannot find them in my Yahoo account or iPhone app BUT i can see them on my Mac Mail version of email. Emails that i have stored into folders in my yahoo account are still there... same with my sent emails... it's just the Inbox emails.. strange, very strange. I don't know how to 'move' the emails from my Mac Mail back to my Yahoo account.

Please read and begin using Can receive email, but not send email. I had a similar issue with Comcast mail (could receive by not send) and found my answer in this letter. For me it took resetting the outgoing mail and telling the system to use a password when sending outgoing mail. If you need help with that please advise and I'll tell you where to look.

Outlook 2010 not saving Sent emails in Sent Items Folder

This problem does not exist on this forum. Using Outlook 2010 (V 14.0.7106.5001 (64-bit) on Windows 7 64-bit with three accounts: 1 account is Gmail and 2 accounts are IMAP. The IMAP accounts inexplicably stopped saving Sent emails. The
Gmail account still saves the Sent emails.
Tried already:
1. Changing the Sent Items setting from Save on folder on computer to Save on server and then changed back to the way it was, which is correct.
2. Created a new profile and entered the email settings. Still no sent mails being saved.
3. Ran Outlook repair. No luck.
Not sure where to go with this next. Never have run into a problem like this before.

Please make sure you have the emails sent to the recipients successfully, if not, the emails may be saved to other folders if you have the following setting:
File tab -> Options -> Mail -> If you checked
Automatically save items that have not been sent after this many minutes,
Save to this folder, you may have your emails stored in the selected folder if the emails are not sent successfully.
Please visit the Webmail site, could you find the sent items there?
Try Reset View, then try to search for the sent emails by keywords in Advanced Find, can you find the emails?
Kindly check the following settings:
File tab -> Options -> Mail
-> under Save messages, make sure you have checked Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder

Facebook is basically broken, at least as far as it pertains to mobile browsers. THey changed something in their coding and now mobile browsers don't work with facebook. ANd their app, well their app has been less than stellar for a long time.
Unfortunately, it's up to facebook to fix things, not apple. All you can do is find work arounds. Look for third party apps, I have one called Facely HD which seems to work reasonably well (even though it does seem to not see all posts). There may be others that work better. You can also simply not access facebook on your mobile until they fix it.
It's all on them and users can only be patient or find other ways to work around it.

Re-sent Sent Email In Outlook 2010 Showing as Being Sent to the Previous Recipient

When re-sending a previously sent item from within Outlook 2010, after a few seconds, the newly re-sent email is showing as being sent to the last recipient who the email is sent to. For example;
I send an email to [email protected] I then want to send the email to [email protected].. so I click Sent Items, double click the email I have just sent, on the Message tab in the Move group, I click Actions and then click Resend This Message.
I remove the original recipient and add the new recipient and click Send.
I check my sent items a few seconds later and the newly sent email ([email protected]) is showing as being sent to [email protected] However, the re-sent email has actually be sent to the correct recipient.

I assume this issue is related to the corrupted nickname cache. Does this issue occur with certain recipients? If so, I suggest you remove the nickname cache entries of these recipients:
Open a new email message.
Type the first few characters of the nickname cache entry that you want to remove from the cache.
When the entry appears in the list of suggested names, move your mouse pointer over the name until it becomes highlighted, but do not click the name.
When the “X” icon appears next to the highlighted name, click X to remove the name from the list.
If this happens to all recipients, we can consider to reset the whole Outlook nickname cache for Outlook 2010:
Open Outlook 2010.
On the File tab, click Options.
Click the Mail tab.
Under Send Messages, click Empty Auto-Complete List.
Click Yes.

Upgraded icloud storage and lost sent emails

I upgraded the storage on my iCloud account yesterday and now all of my sent messages from my main email account have vanished. Does anyone have this problem. I also have 3 other email accounts and all of the sent messages from those accounts are still present. I have lost over 13k sent emails that are for my business. HELP!!!!

Log into appleid.apple.com and verify that both the email addresses you use do not show up there in the same account. My worry is that you might be mistaking a login alias ([email protected]) as a separate account which it might be one in the same. Either way, if you are having issues downgrading your storage you will need to contact Apple for more assistance.

Suddenly none of my sent emails are showing up in the sent mail folder. I did just do the recent OS update.

Check your settings in your email account. Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars - tap on your email account and make sure that all of the settings are as they should be.
If all of the settings are correct - Then try the basics and see if they help with this.
Restart the iPad by holding down onthe sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. Topower up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of thebutton.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons atthe same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore thered slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit Mail and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button.Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar willappear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and holddown on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in theupper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad byholding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide toshut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears andlet go of the button.

Sent emails are missing from Thunderbird following migration from alternative email client and import of emails

All sent emails are missing from the Thunderbird 'Sent' folder following import, but Sent folder still shows a count of the imported emails (Thunderbird considered them to be unread when importing them, hence the count). The messages are also visible online (BT Internet email) and on other devices (Android running BlueMail). Settings are set to place copies of sent items into Sent folder. Having imported all my old email, I can send email but again they do not appear in the Sent folder (but do appear online and on other devices). I have tried compacting the Sent folder and i have tried repairing the folder. All other folders (Inbox, other newly created folders) show the email i have imported.
If I move an email online from the Sent folder to another test folder, it syncs and appears in Thunderbird in that test folder. If I then use Thunderbird to move the email back from that test folder to the Sent folder then Thunderbird will do so, but locks up for a good minute or so while doing that.
Running TB 24.6.0 on Windows 8.1, incoming server set to IMAP on mail.btinternet.com (port 993), outgoing server set to SMTP on mail.btinternet.com (port 465).

It did seem to recover some emails which had disappeared from Mail, but not all of them. That's the frustrating thing - short of going through my Yahoo webmail accounts and logging every single email, and then cross-referencing with what's on my desktop, I just can't be sure what's there and what's not!
Sometimes it's immediately clear that something is awry - the folder I use for emails from my girlfriend is completely empty, for instance, when I definitely had things in there before the weekend. (Yes, again I went away for the weekend, with the computer still running - and Mail on - and again I returned to discover emails missing.
Arrgh!

TS3276 sent emails are in draft

Bear with me I am new to the community and not particularily tech saavy. On occassion copies of sent emails are finding their way into my Draft folder. What am I doing wrong?
