Help to save a playlist in MP3 from ITunes to a USB stick...

Hello, I am trying to copy a playlist for my Dad to a USB stick, formatted Fat32.  The files save as M3U, which my father cant play on his portable player.  Can I save the libraary as MP3?  I am fairly tech savvy, but this has got me stumped.  Deb

Drag the files from the iTunes window to the flash drive on the desktop.

How do I move/copy music (a playlist) from iTunes to my USB stick, so that i can play it on my Media Center?

Are you using Finder to try and transfer, or are you using iTunes?
Using Finder should yield no "Decoder" error.

How do I copy music from my computer to a USB stick?  It won't let me click and drag - it bounces back.

If you drill down within the iTunes folder to the "iTunes Music" or "iTunes Media" folder you'll see that iTunes has the songs organised by artists. If you want a particular album, you'll have to know who the artist is. There's also a folder named "Various Artists" for complication albums. And as for me, I don't use a USB drive to back things up, I use an external hard drive, which can hold more data. If you don't have one, I recommend getting one.

  • Can I buy mp3s from itunes ?

First time I used this forum so apologies if already asked. Can I buy mp3s from itunes ?
Fine for my ipod to have mp4a format aac or mp3 etc.. but for my car I use a USB stick which needs to be all mp3 format. Yes I can convert in itunes to mp3 format but that means I end up with two versions on my laptop.
If I just accidentally sync one non-mp3 format file to my memory stick then the car won't play anything on the **** stick !! Annoying.
So unles theres a way of getting mp3 thru itunes I guess its back to amazon for me for mp3 purchases - and then add the folder to itunes. Not ideal
    thanks in advance

But the question was Can I buy mp3s from itunes ? and my (correct) answer was no, you cannot! Specifically, the OP excluded the option to convert an AAC file to MP3.
I didn't mention the Import Settings, since it is in no way relevant to the OP's question. Despite your recommendation to marktko, I can see absolutely no reason to buy a song from iTunes, if the only intention is to convert it and then delete the original, having possibly paid more for it into the bargain. The conversion process may possibly introduce a reduction in the quality of the file, so why do it if you can buy the format you want and save yourself the trouble of the extra conversion work?
    marktko;
I am astounded that you have been won over by Brij011's arguement about paying more, converting, and then deleting the AAC file. Absolutely astounded!
Is there a hidden agenda at work here?

  • I have transferred all my music from iTunes onto my USB to play on my car audio radio. The radio reads the music but does not play it in sequence. There is a specific way to save the music into folders and name them. I have a Pioneer DEH-2350UBSW.

I have transferred all my music from iTunes onto my USB to play on my car radio. The radio reads the music but does not play it in sequence. So it plays certain folders, then it skips folders. in certain folders it skips tracks. apparently there is a specific way to save the music into folders onto the USB with regard to naming the tracks and folders.. I have a Pioneer DEH-2350UBSW. Can anyone please help.

It is a stick, Cruzer Blade 16gig.
In the manual it says the following about the USB storage device:
    1. Playable folder hierarchy is up to 8 tiers
    2. Playable folders up to 500
    3. Playable files up to 15 000
Under sequence of audio files it says that the user cannot assign folder numbers and specify playback sequences with this unit. It also gives an example of a hierarchy:
    01 - folder
Under that is 02 which is also a folder
Under that are compressed audio files 01 to 05: folder number
Under that there is another folder same concept as above - I have attached that part of the manual in this response.
I named my folder - Folder 001 Artists name and then in that folder I added the tracks as:
    001 Song title
    002 song title
It played the 1st song in the folder and skipped to the next folder, I can't even locate the other tracks.
On another folder I saved 31 songs but only 29 played so I am not sure whether there is a limit.
All I need is an example of how to number and name everything.

    Hello surig84,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing when syncing your iPad.  I recommend reviewing the following article specifically the section titled "Authorize using the correct account name."

Are the playlists still on the iPod? If so I can probably cook up a script to read them back into iTunes, or you can check the features of the various tools listed at the end of this user tip to see if you can find one that you want to use.

  • How can I copy a podcast from iTunes to a SBU stick to use in my car radio?

Before latest update of iTunes, I have always been able to copy a podcast downloaded to iTunes , into a USB stick for my car radio. I can't see how to do that anymore.
I have no similar problems with my iPhone and my iPad.
By the way. Is it possibly to play from iPhone or iPad into the car radio ?
With cable, BlueTooth or a third possibility???
    Can anyone help me.
    regards
    Ebbe

Copy the file from iTunes or from Windows Explorer to the USB drive.
Nothing special and in no way involves or requires iTunes.

That depends entirely on the head unit in the vehicle and what it supports.  Check the Owner's Manual for the vehicle or the head unit (if aftermarket).

  • How to export MP3 from iTunes to sD card

My car radio has an sD slot and can play MP3 files. How do I export from iTunes to an sD card in MP3 format?
    Thanks,
    John

Insert the card into a card reader and connect it to your Mac. Open iTunes and when the card is mounted on the desk top highlight the songs you want and drag them from the iTunes to the card icon.
If the songs in iTunes aren't in MP3 Format you'll need to convert them before dragging them to your card. You can use iTunes to convert any copy protection free songs in your library another format. When you convert a song in iTunes it will be converted to the format that you have set to import your CDs in. Converting creates a second copy of the song in the format you have chosen which gives you the opportunity to either keep or delete the original. If you are using iTunes 8 go to Edit>Preferences>General and click on Import Settings,, Change your Import format to MP3 Encoder for example and choose the Setting or "bit rate" you want. Go back to your library and highlight the songs you want to convert and go to the Advanced menu at the top of your iTunes window and choose "Create MP3 version": iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format
One exception to this are standard copy protected songs (if you haven't upgraded to iTunes Plus versions) purchased from the iTunes Music Store which can't be directly converted due to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protection. However you can burn these to an Audio CD which will work like any regular CD.

  • Why are my playlists not syncing from iTunes to my iPhone since updating to iTunes 11.0.2?

My selected playlists are not syncing from Itunes to my iPhone.  As a music teacher this is extremely problematic as I use my phone as my primary music player.  Anyone know why all music syncs but not the playlists?

First, you're not talking to Apple - this is a users' forum.  Second, sync operations work one way - iTunes to iDevice; create and modify your playlists in iTunes, then sync them to your iPhone.

  • A few of my playlists completely disappeared from itunes.

I have all of my devices (my iPad, my iPhone, my kids' iPod Touches and my wife's iPhone) set up to sync wirelessly when connected to wifi.  Just yesterday, all of my wife's playlists disappeared from her iPhone.  When I went onto to iTunes, they were completely gone as if they had been deleted.  She didn't delete them (she never goes onto iTunes)  Any thoughts on how this could have happened?  None of the other playlists are missing.  Only the ones synced to her phone.  Also, this is not a new phone.  It is my old one, and I never had an issue with it.

Perhaps what happened is that your kids may have (accidentally) deleted those particular playlists on their devices, and that deletion then cascaded through your sync setup to all your other devices.
Something similar happened to me, in that our little guys were playing with one of our iPod nanos and deleted a couple of playlists. When I synced (via cable) that device with my computer, those playlists were wiped from my iTunes library, and then via iTunes Match, also instantaneously deleted on *all* of our family computers and iPhones! So not only were those playlists gone, but I didn't even have evidence of their existence from which I could manually re-create them.
Automatic syncing (whether via Match, or your wi-fi setup) is really great, although it does permit accidental deletions from causing some hard-to-fix, hard-to-identify damage to your music library.
That's just my suggestion, although I certainly don't want to impugn your good kids! :-)

  • Help, I am having problems syncing songs from itunes to my ipod.

I am having great difficulty in trying to sync purchased songs from itunes music store to my ipod.
I have just registered my ipod to my home computer after having it originally registered on a friends computer. Now on my own computer I have purchased 14 songs and have tried to sync them onto my ipod. However it keeps coming up with a message that my computer is not authorized to play them. Therefore its not copying onto my ipod.
Any solutions/help would be greatly recieved, thanks.

I'll wager that you have a second account that you forgot about. Fire up iTunes but do not log on to your account. Try to play one of the problem songs. A popup window will appear asking you to authorize your computer for that account.

  • Help! Slow download on TV show from itunes

I bought a TV show from itunes, and it's downloading REALLY slowly. This is my first time using itunes, and right now, it's looking like my last. It says there is 270 hours remaining...that's ridiculous. I'm on a fast connection, I'm at college. My roommate says hers take 90 minutes, tops. Who can I get in contact with to fix this or get a refund? Is that even possible with Apple? I know how sh*tty the support from these companies can be. What should I do?

If you mean, can you download to Tunes on a computer, can you stream it to the Apple TV, then Yes.

  • Pls help. How to import Vedio purchased from Itune to Vision

Kindly advise on how can I import all Vedios purchased from Itune to Vision M?.

iTunes movies are in Quicktime format, so you'll need to Google for a convert to either XVID, DIVX or a supported format (if such a thing exists!).
