Help to set up correct Apple ID to update Apps

Hi,
I have an new apple ID set up on my Iphone 5S. When I want to update an App, a message comes up with an OLD Apple ID asking me for a password to confirm the update. However, it doesn't give me the option to change the Apple ID, only the Password.
I then went to Settings to check my apple ID and it's all correct with the new one. So the old Apple ID appears ONLY on the screen when I want to update an App.
Any idea how to change the Apple ID on the screen asking me for the password when updating an App?
FM

All apps are forever tied to the ID used to obtain them, & can only be updated using that ID. So, your choices are to either sign into the app store using your old ID, update these apps, then sign out & sign back in with your new ID, delete them & re-purchase using your new ID, or contact iTunes support, explain the situation & ask that they add these apps to the download queue of your new ID. If they agree, then just delete the apps:

My brother has just updated his iPhone, it's now not accepting either his password or apple id to update apps, any ideas how to fix it?

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • How can I get my iPhone to stop promting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I've checked settings for iTunes

How can I get my iPhone 6 to stop prompting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I have verified in settings that my acct is listed in itunes & App Store, as well as icloud. i can download new apps fine. Have shut down phone and re-powered, have tried plugging into my iMac while signed into my iTunes acct. Can't figure out what to do next?

Is the comp a synced device to your apple ID and approved as an active device for this synchronization?
Just cloud the sync once, activate the comp to your apple I'd in iTunes, ensure all software is up to date, turn on home sharing between the devices and you can reinstall the apps from the apple id purchase history via download.
You basically cleaned out the canonical data apple uses to validate all that, which was backup data. Like iOS devices have the purchased option on the App Store now, syncing the devices via the home sharing and properly activating them will give your comp the purchased cloud and free up 10gs of space on the precious solid states smaller drives.
    Hope that helps...
If you need to know the menu to find this info, let me know. But the info is easily accessible in the help menu.

  • Crossed Apple ID whilst updating apps over wifi

My wife and I were updating apps on two (2) iPhone 3GS’s on a wifi-network sitting side by side. Our Apple ID were crossed (her ID comes up on my device and mine on hers). Running latest OS(4.2) and latest iTunes (10.2).
Have booted both devices several times
    Have synced to iTunes
Under general settings stores ID’s are correct
Able to purchase new app or media with correct ID
When trying to update the remaining applications it forces the WRONG ID and insists that I am trying to use a NEW device and presents the others information for verification.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Each app is associated to one iTunes account. If you use one iTunes library then you only have one copy of each app, which is associated to one of your iTunes accounts. If you both have the same apps on your iPhones then each iPhone is going to have apps linked to both accounts. So when you update your apps, if there is a new version it will want the iTunes accounts that is linked to that app.
You could do one of the following:
    1. You could leave it as is. You will have to use each others' accounts.
    2. You could create separate iTunes libraries, where you will two copies of each app you share (which may mean paying twice).
    3. Use only one iTunes account for app purchases.
    There may be other options.

  • Wrong Apple ID when Updating App in App Store

When I try to update some apps on my iPhone through the App Store, it's requesting the password for the wrong apple ID. The apple ID it is requesting the password for belongs to a family remember.
I tried the following suggested solution:
    1) Logout of App Store & iTunes
    2) Delete the app that is requesting credential for the wrong apple id when updating
    3) Go to App Store and reinstall the app using the correct apple ID
This solution only works temporarily. When in the future if the app has an update again, it's requesting the wrong apple id again.
I think one possible issue could be that I am syncing the iPhone to the same computer that of my family member.
*Please note, do NOT ask me to sync to another computer. This is not possible .All iOS devices in my family are manged, backed up, and sync on one computer.
*My iPhone is iPhone 4S running iOS 7
*Other iOS devices are iOS 8

You'e got a mess on your hands. Let's see if this helps.
First, that app, and possibly others that you might not have noticed, were downloaded with a different Apple ID that the rest of your apps. Of course, apps and other content are forever tied to the apple ID used to purchase or download them. You didn't say where you are deleting the app, but it sounds like you're doing so on the device, but not on the computer. If that's the case, when you sync with the computer, you may be replacing the app on the device with the other from a different Apple ID.
I would suggest deleting the app completely from ALL devices, including the computer. Be sure you are logged in with the Apple ID used to download all the other apps and get it again from the App store through iTunes on your computer. Then sync it back to all devices that use it.
In general, this can now mostly be avoided if all your devices run iOS 8. Read about Family Sharing: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/

  • How do i change my apple id to update apps

I changed my apple ID however when I try to update my Iphone apps, my old apple id pops up and it asks me to enter the password. It has not updated the apple ID therefore I cannot update apps. Help?

Your dialog shows you are on iOS 5.1.1, so tap Settings App > scroll down to Store, tap > tap Apple ID: > Sign Out > Sign In. Make sure you have Wi-Fi connection or your Cellular Data is ON.

  • How do I change my Apple ID to update apps on my macbook?

My sister gave me her MacBook Pro (she got a new one) and now I'm trying to update iMovie on the App Store, but everytime I do it it says 'Updates are available for other accounts' and it says 'sign into (my sisters apple ID) to update applications for that account.
I made a new Mac account, and I signed in at the start with my own Apple ID, so if anyone can tell me how to update the iMovie??

That's a known problem and there's not other fix than using your sister's Apple ID. It happens because, when you first set up the computer, OS X, iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand are registered to the Apple ID used to set up the computer, in your case, your sister's Apple ID.
Once you do that, you can only reinstall OS X and update iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand with that Apple ID, not a different one. Also, you can't transfer purchases from other Apple IDs, and you can't buy the applications again to have them registered to your Apple ID because the App Store detects that they came for free with your computer

  • IPad mini Uses wrong Apple ID to update apps

Asks for password for another account. Have updated account settings, logged out and logged back in

It is asking for the password for the account that was originally used to purchase the App. Apps are tied to the purchase account and can't be transferred between accounts.
If you wish to eliminate this then delete the App and repurchase it under your correct Apple ID.

  • How would u change your old apple ID to update apps

How would u change your old pop up apple Id to update apps

Apps are forever tied to the ID that was used to purchase them. You'll need to use the password to the old Apple ID to update them or delete them and buy them again under your new Apple ID.
This is why you don't change Apple IDs if at all possible. If your email changes, you can always update the Apple ID.

  • IPhone tries to use old Apple ID to update apps

While updating Apps on iPhone 6 it asks for an Apple ID password that is no longer in use. How do I get it to use my current Apple ID?

Delete and redownload those applications. The old Apple ID is stored inside them.

  • HT3771 set up for printing with HP Designjet 500ps (Using Mac os 10.4.11 Printer is set up correctly showing on Mac-Updates installed but still won't print-Printer shows TIME OUT)

Set up for HP Designjet 500ps using Mac os x 10.4.11 Does any one know where to upload
Leopard os x 10.5 The printer will not print until I have the updated software. Ebay sell the
disc on their auction site, but only on disc not a download which is more convenient & faster
to get in a hurry. The software installed in the mac is working the way it should & showing up
as it would but it seems as though there is a driver that's needed. The results in any articals
that I have read suggest you don't need any drivers if you use HP EasyPhotoSoftware installed.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're users here, not "Apple Inc."
You might have better a response to your questions by posting them in the OS X 10.4 Tiger forums: https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.4_tiger
    or in the PowerMac forums:
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/desktop_computers/power_macof
This forum is for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Since that version won't run on your PowerMac, you're not likely to get many helpful responses here.
In any case, I'll try to offer some basic troubleshooting suggestions:
The PS designation on your printer denotes the PostScript printer language. Is your applications software and current printer driver configured to send PostScript (or HP-GL or HP-PCL or ???)
Does ANY application print anything (even gibberish) to the printer?
HP still shows a DesignJet 500 series raster driver for OS X 10.4 Tiger available to download here:
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/? sp4ts.oid=377952&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Di dx%253D%257CswItem%253Dpl_97046_1%257CswEnvOID%253D2072%257CitemLocale%253D%257C swLang%253D%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument&javax.portlet.begCacheTo k=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken
Does the printer time-out with every program, or just one? Have you tried another cable?
OS X 10.5 Leopard is no longer sold by Apple. It was never sold as a download, sold only on CD/DVD disc. Discs might still be available for purchase on eBay.
OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" is the oldest version of OS X still sold by Apple, and it too is available ONLY on CD/DVD for $20, but it will not run on your PowerMac, because Snow Leopard requires an Intel processor: os x snow leopard requirements
HP DesignJet 500 basic printer documentation is available as a pdf document and downloadable file here: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/manualsResults?sp4ts.oid=2 5301&ac.admitted=1391720518005.876444892.199480143
How is the printer connected to the computer? Are you using a USB interface, a Centronics 'Parallel' interface, or a JetDirect network interface?
It appears that the network timeout default for the printer was 30 minutes, but it can apparently be set in the range of anything 30-seconds and longer. The manual notes that some software does not send an 'end of job' postscript marker, so that is the reason for the time-out setting.

  • Expert help needed: why does my apple id show in app store....

when I never signed into the app store before... and... it's not even my system...
    OK...story...
On my clients iMac who is running os 10.5.8 and wishes to uprgade to 10.8, I did the following:
-installed 10.6 from my image of the 10.6 installer disc on my utility firewire hd
-after upgrade, I ran software update and installed the 10.6.8 combo update
-after reboot went to app store(1st time it has been used) and attempted to purchase & upgrade the OS to 10.8 and noticed in the Store menu that my apple Id was there???
    um….
how did it get there??? So what I then did was:
-have my client enter his apple id & paswd and sign in
-when he attempted to purchase then download, a warning appeared - (not exact) 'downloads for the acct <myappleid> are waiting to be downloaded, please complete the downloads before…(wish I made a screen shot)
The only way around this was to sign back into my apple id and allow mountain lion to download and install.
    Anyways…
I had him sign into the app store on another mac and mountain liion was not in his list of purchases, but that didn't surprise me.
What is completely a mystery is why my apple id made it's way into his app store when it was never there before, I mean the system was at 10.5. prior...I'm baffeled
This is the second time this has happened, 1st time it was when bringing a a client of mine from 10.5.8 to 10.7 with the same steps as above….
    Does anyone have a clue??

I would guess that your Apple ID is in the pirated version of Snow Leopard 10.6 that you are installing on their computers to allow them to update to Mountain Lion.
