Help transferring photos from iPhone to macbook

when i switched from the 4s to 5s i transferred all of the pictures from the 4s onto a windows laptop, then transferred the pictures from the laptop onto the 5s. now my 5s is almost out of storage, and i was wondering if it was possible to transfer the old pictures onto my macbook and then delete that album from the phone. also the album of pictures from the computer doesn't have the delete option when you go to edit albums.

If you still have the windows laptop your best option is to get the photos from there. If the only copies of the 4s photos that you have are now on the 5s (placed there by using iTunes to sync from the Windows computer) then you will either need to email them to yourself or use 3rd party software such as http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php to salvage them from the 5s.
Once you have safely recovered the 4s photos that were transferred to the 5s via iTunes sync, you can remove them from the 5s by syncing with iTunes using the following instructions from iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support . Note that if the original computer isn't available you may first need to sync a few new photos from your current computer using iTunes and then sync again to delete them using the following instructions.
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
Click Apply.

  • Need help uploading photos from iPhone to Macbook Pro?

So say I took a lot of photos on the iPhone, then I created several albums that contain a substantial amount of photos too. When I uploaded photos to the Mac using iPhoto, I noticed that all the photos got put together into one "Event" and the other albums in the iPhone were nowhere to be found. Is there a way to upload photos so that the "Camera Roll" gets an "Event" and the other albums get their own respective "Events"?
What I want to know is how to upload photos so that each iPhone camera album appears as a separate "event" in iPhoto. Please help and thanks in advance.

Per the iPhone User Manual, I don't believe you can do what you're inquiring about.
Among other things, it clearly states albums on the iPhone are not transfered to iPhoto as such.

By albums are you referring to albums in iPhoto on your iPhone.  Only photos in the Camera Roll get imported into the iPhoto library when connecting the iPhone to your Mac.

  • Trouble with transferring Photos from iPhone to MacBook...

Hi. I might be missing something really basic here but can someone tell me what exact steps need to be taken so that photos taken on my iPad/iPhone, will automatically appear on my MacBook. Thanks!

Assuming that you are referring to the photo stream feature of iCloud, then photo stream needs to be turned on in the iCloud settings on both devices (system preferences on the Mac). In addition to this, you need the most recent version of iPhoto, along with the iPhoto photo stream plug-in, all of which should be available via software update, assuming that you already have iPhoto 9 or better.

  • Transferring photos from iphone to Macbook via WIFI (not photostream)?

    Hi,
I enabled my iPhone for wireless transfer, and I see it in iTunes as soon as I am in my homeWIFI.
    I don't use iCloud.
Now, how can I transfer the pictures I made on my phone wirelessly on my Macbook? I don't find the solution, as the iPhone doesn't show up in iPhoto?
Do I still have to connect with a cable in order to do that?! then the whole WIFI syncing is kinda useless...
    Cheers

You need iCloud enabled and iPhoto 9.2, it's called Photo Stream, to do what you want.

I'd like to transfer the photos from iPhone to MacBook Air. My iPhoto used to detect my iPhone automatically, but it doesn't happen anymore. How could I fox this? Thanks for helping!

    Check the iPhoto preferences:
From the main menu bar:  iPhoto > Preferences > General:
"Connecting camera opens"  : Set this option to  "iPhoto".
If that does not help, disconnect your iPhone and reset your iPhone.
To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

You should ask in the Apple Forum. This has nothing to do with Adobe Reader, which only reads PDF files.

Can it be possible to transfer photos from iPhone 4 to MacBook Pro via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or apps from the app store?

You may want to take a look at DropBox instead. Details here:

  • How to get Photos from iPhone to MacBook?

I've just upgrade my iPhoto library to the new Photos app and photos which used to automatically copy from my iPhone to all my devices, including MacBook are no longer copying. I can't use iCloud as I have too many photos to mirror the whole library and connecting my iPhone to MacBook by cable no longer syncs via iTunes either ... HELP please

and connecting my iPhone to MacBook by cable no longer syncs via iTunes either ... HELP please
After connecting to your Mac by USB download directly to Photos or to Image Capture.
If iTunes does not copy from your photo libraries to the iPhone, it looks like you enabled iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone. Then iTunes will no longer sync photos, and My Photo Stream will no longer stream from your Mac to your Phone.
Try to disable iCloud Photo Library in Settings > Photo&Camera.

  • Transfer photos from iPhone to MacBook

    Hello:
The hard drive on my MacBook crashed two weeks ago and I have replaced it. Most important loss was the entire iPhoto library that I had not backed up. Much of that, however, is on my iPhone, and I want to know the most efficient method of transferring those photos to my MacBook. Is there a method OTHER than emailing almost 8 thousand images? I posted a similar question re: iTunes purchases from iPhone to MacBook and the solution was simple. Will that be the case with the photos?
    Many thanks, in advance.

  • How synchronise photos from iphone to macbook

I recently got a MacBook Pro.
How can I synchronise my photos from iPhone 4s to my MacBook, without deleting first on iPhone, as suggested by iTunes?
    thanks

You can import photos from an iPhone to a MacBook using the following instructions (note that iTunes is not involved) and you can either leave the photos on the phone after the import or you can delete them from the phone. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
iTunes can be used to move photos the other direction -- from the computer to the phone. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236
Where in iTunes are you seeing a suggestion to delete photos? (Exact wording may help, if possible)

  • Problems transferring photos from iphone to mac, iphoto says there is nothing to download...

Hi, I need to transfer photos from iphone to mac. My mac can 'see' my iphone with iphoto open, but the box says there are no photos to download. Could anyone help me please? This has never been a problem before (it was fine about 2 weeks ago). I've tried turning both devices off and have spent a couple of hours trying to search for this problem on the internet. I can't remember when I updated to OS 7.1 but I guess that was recently; could this be the problem? Thank you so much.

This has nothing to do with iOS 7.1
