I have all my music in my phone on my itunes playlist but not in my library? Im trying to update my phone and it wont allow me to because it says i might lose my songs, cuz they arent in my library.. How do i get them from my iphone 4 to my library? I'm new at this n rarely update my phone so i'm onfused..

iCloud only syncs contacts in your iCloud group, not contacts from other services such as hotmail. You need to copy or move the contacts from the Hotmail group to the iCloud group in order for them to sync with your iCloud account. If you have both groups in a contact managment program on your computer that is syncing with your iCloud account you can drag and drop them between groups there. If not, you'll need to use an app like Speed Names to do this on your phone.

Trouble with back button in Safari, always resets to top of page.

I am running Safari 6.0.5 on a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8.5
The problem that I am having is that every time I use the back button to my previous page it always takes me to the top of my previous page. All of my other Macs running Safari always take me to the point in the page I left from. It is a real headache to always have to search for where I was on my last page. I have gone through every preference I can think of that would be relevant and updated several versions of Safari with no change. This issuse is only on my laptop
Anyone that has had this issue I would appreciate the help.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Help trouble with forwarded message

I realized that many people have this issues as I had recently, but I still need some help about this.
I found that original sender was actually receiving my forwarded message to other people. I had an important correspondence to make with my Attorney since February, I forwarded several messages from my opponent to my attorney. We have been resolving issues very well, but one day, the opponents suddenly changed their attitude and giving me a hard time. I was checking my older correspondence with the person who was actually mediating the situation and found out that my conversation with my attorney was leaked to the opponents because I hit "forward" to including the original message from the sender(opponent). The mediator actually saw what I was talking with my attorney. it was bad enough, the mediator was not telling me she was recovering my e-mail to my attorney. Now I have a trust issue to my mediator. It is not professional that mediator leaked my conversation with my attorney to the opponents, but Apple mail set up caused this situation. Am I wrong? I want to know if I could avoid this by myself, if it was my problem, I want Apple to teach me how to use e-mail setting correctly ASAP. In my understanding, it should be my choice if I including the original sender or not when I forward the message to others, correct?

We act civil to each other and the mediator was taking her position fairly, but once they knew my attorney has more to say to opponents, the mediator revealed her position toward executives in the company (opponent) My legal issue to justify my position should not be jeopardized by something like this that I cannot control. Bad thing is I didn't know the opponent are reading my conversation to my attorney until now. I didn't say anything wrong on the e-mail to my attorney to offend the opponent, but the opponent has been over reacting to the issue with me. Original issue was mediated by the mediator, but now I need my attorney longer to resolve the issue. Because of the forwarding message setting with Apple, I had extra problem. I recently send a message to the mediator and asked if she received any e-mail that should be going only to my attorney, she has no answer. I don't like any e-mail setting I cannot fix causes this trouble in the future. I will never forward the message to my attorney and ask a question again, but I want Apple to make better setting to avoid this kind of situation.

hi im trying to back up only my photos onto icloud and ive copied all my previous images from the icloud and put them on my computer but it now says that it cant back up 'cos i need an additional 3.7gb. is there any way of saving the first 5gb of photos first? and then doing the 3.7 afterwards? please help thanks Haidee

The easiest way to put your photos in large numbers onto your computer is to connect the iPad to it with a USB cable and import them into your photo software.

Guys, I heard the new OS 10.3.1 has been released, but my Blackberry hasnt updated yet! Tried BlackBerry link, OTA, Web, none works. It shows that my device has the latest available device software! As has always been, unless you purchased from ShopBB, then your carrier controls when (if ever) you will receive the update via the official methods.
If you want to move to it anyway, then I suggest you try the very clean and very forceful AutoLoader method:

Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)

Can someone help me with backing up my iphone over wifi then restoring it?

basically i wanted to download the new ios 8 on my iphone 5c, i did not have enough memory and was unable to get onto a laptop/pc. i went onto settings>icloud>storage&backup>back up over wifi. i enable back up over wifi so when connected to wifi it will automatically back up, anyway after enabling this i pressed back up now and it backed my iphone up. i then started to delete apps and PHOTOS to get enough space, i then was able to get onto a laptop and tried to restore my iphone but it would not let me . it said i had to download ios 8 first then it would restore my device so i tried this and it will not download the new update, i still dont have enough memory to download the update but i do not want to delete more photos if i will be un able to get them back.
basically if i delete more photos to make enough space for ios 8, and then restore my iphone will i get all of the photos, apps and games i had before i started to delete them (baring in mind i did back up my iphone over wifi)

Trouble with back to my mac in hotels?

I've got several Macs that are are connected via iCloud and back to my mac for screen sharing. I've noticed that while traveling I cannot "see" the other Macs and am wondering if some hotel wifi's close out these connections. I can easily see all the other mac users connected to the hotel network.

Hotels often block all ports except for those used used by common programs such as web browsers and email. If you are trying to use another port it is possible they have blocked it for security reasons. Ask the hotel it support. They usually have a trouble number or email address in the room.

Having trouble with backing up my iBooks and possibly a corrupted file

I have several iPad ebook and PDF purchases that were not from the iTunes store that I would like to backup somewhere, either in the cloud or on my Mac. I cannot figure out how to do this. When I tried syncing books in iTunes, it wants to replace everything on the iPad with what's on my Mac, which would be a disaster. If anything happens to my iPad, I will lose these books. How can I back them up?
In a related question, the issue that started all this was an epub I purchased from LexisNexis, a rather large book (8 mb, thousands of pages). The first time I opened it, it was fine, but after the second time I think the file got corrupted because it freezes whenever I try to navigate anywhere in the book. If the file has gotten corrupted, I have no idea how to delete the book so that I can reinstall it. I have no idea what to do. I know this is technically two questions in one post (sorry) but I'm really at a loss. I need that book, and I'd really like the peace of mind knowing my books are backed up somewhere if my iPad dies. Thanks!

What I need to do is to get difference of the start dates of the maximum available dates, if data is valid. The pseducode is as follows:

HELP: Trouble with partial filled arrays

For HW, I have to write a deleteRepeats static method for an array of characters that deletes any character previously listed and returns the new array size. The example the problem gives is:
char a[10];
a[0]='a';
a[1]='b';
a[2]='a';
a[3]='c';
int size = 4;
size = deleteRepeats(a, size);
The problem then says after the code is executed, a[0] should be 'a', a[1] should be 'b', a[2] should be 'c' and size is 3. I read the section in my book on partially filled arrays, but I still can't get this method to work properly. Here is my code:

First, I have no idea why they make you work with partially-filled arrays. It seems like the worst idea in the world. You should use ArrayLists for this kind of thing.
Why do you do "size=a.length;" at the beginning of the method? You lose the size information.
And I don't see how the algorithm does what you want. When you "delete" an element from your list of numbers in the array, you need to shift all later elements backwards to fill the gap.

HELP troubles with dynamically generated URLs

I'm trying to integrate a new shopping cart, but DW CS4 can't follow the dynamic links in the template pages. They render fine in Live View. I can follow the CSS in the CSS Styles panel, but of course, it's not editable. Related files are far from complete and if I try to click on one, I get an error that the file can't be found.
The templates all contain dynamically generated URLs such as:
<?php include("${__TPL_DIR__}pages/templates/part.header.tpl.html"); ?>
The .ini files used have site root relative references.
Any ideas? Or am I stuck limping along?

I found a few articles in the Developer Center that were helpful in understanding what I was looking at. The articles on creating Drupal and Wordpress themes explained how the pages are created dynamically, as well as how to use DW to modify and create themes. Though the specifics are different than what I am looking at, the concepts are similar. They also confirmed that attaching the relevant CSS files as design time style sheets was a practical workaround in the absence of an add-on to help DW understand the site structure. I was hoping that I had just not done something correctly, but I can live with a workaround, knowing that an "easier" way isn't just waiting for me to learn something about DW.

Trouble with Back up Copies of iTunes and iPhoto

I place copies of my iTunes library and iPhoto library on a portable hard drive for when I travel. However, when I launch iTunes or iPhoto on my laptop with the hard drive connected, I get the following problems:
1) Not all songs from iTunes are in the right playlists or even the Library. I often have to add songs back to the library.
2) iPhoto albums are not recognized. The data simply appears as dated albums or a folder called "modified"
I would like everything organized just as it is on my G5 home computer. Any suggestions on how to copy files from the G5 to the portable hard drive so everything remians intact?

In the case of iPhoto, make sure that the Portable HD is set to ignore permissions. (You do this in the Get Info window.) Then copy the iPhoto Library Folder from Home/Pictures to the portable. Copy the entire folder intact, not just the constituent parts.
Then, on the laptop, hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. Choose 'Locate' and navigate to the new location of the iPhoto Library Folder. But of course, you must have the same version of iPhoto on both machines. This won't work if one is a v5 and the other a v6.
A similar system will work for iTunes - just copy the iTunes folder from your Music Folder to the HD, use the option (or alt) key on Launch trick and so on.
But remember, if you launch either app without the HD connected to the laptop, they will default to their original locations, and you'll need to use the option (or alt) key trick to get back to the library on the HD.

Is anyone else having trouble with backing up before 2.2 update?

I downloaded the 2.2 update around 4 PM (eastern), and have been trying to update most of the time in between.
I connect the phone, enter iTunes, and tell it to upgrade. It extracts the downloaded update, and begins backing up the contents of my iPhone. And it continues backing up, with absolutely no progress, forever.
When it goes over 30 minutes without even starting to back anything up, I disconnect it and try again. It did actually begin showing some progress on a sync earlier, but it stalled at about 5%, and didn't move a pixel for an hour.
I'm using a 2G iPhone, not jailbroken, and it's connected to a Macbook with iTunes 8.2.
Could this just be overloaded Apple servers? Has anybody had similar issues, and does anyone have any ideas?
