have used tungsten for years. want a phone and pda combo for business app. the ones i tried in the sprint store will not open my quickbooks online web pages. is there somthing that needs to be added? i am not a teckie but would like the freedom of doing business in the field.

It sounds as though Intuit has created mobile apps for the iPhone and Blackberry OS, but nothing specific for PalmOS, Windows Mobile, or Palm's webOS. As far as browser access, which devices did you try? Did the site just fail to work correctly, or does it say the mobile browser was not supported?
You could try the QuickBooks Online support options for advice on devices other than the iPhone and Blackberry if you prefer. If you find a Palm-friendly solution, please post back for future reference.

Need help- trying to figure out if Spotify would work for my senior living community

We are a senior community that has activity programs running in like 7-10 areas in the building. Music is a big part of our day. CD's for all these areas is getting crazy. There has got to be a better way. We want to be able to pick music genre, a song even to hear and have playlists. What we have currently: We have some laptops and desktop computer using windows. We also have a few MP3 players, boomboxes and IPODS. We also have Wifi. But sometimes of course we have Wifi issues. We have access to usually a laptop or boombox. We could use the MP3 players/ipods. I like the idea of playlists that we share, pulling music that is alike. These are my quesitons or issues below: Things are my questions:1. Can we have 1 account be made for different appliances and be on spotify at the same time? Premium said 3 but you can't be both logged in under each account. Is this still true? Postings were old. 2. With even the Spotify family can you be on to the account at the same time? 3. What would be our best solution for this for accounts- would we have to set up different account for each device if we want to play at the same time? Any ideas - I just really need suggestions4. If we did our laptops, we would need speakers? Also for boomboxes- is this possible? I am assuming using like an MP3 player or IPOD. Spotify work through them? Is it certain type of MP3 players and IPODS. I believe a few of ours are older ones. 5. If we have tons of accounts, can I start all accounts on same computer? Would I set them up by each device we have?6. Can you run ipod/mp3 through large TV speakers? or laptop music through big screen tv speakers?7. 1: Each Spotify account can only play on one device at a time. You can have the account logged into as many devices as you want, but you can only play on one device at a time.
2: With Spotify family, there are several Spotify accounts under one plan. Each account is able to play on one device at a time.

Hopefully this information helps. The family plan can have up to 5 accounts. It might end up being too expensive for what you need. The free plan has ads, but it still might be worth looking into.

We were told our computer had a NI GPIB. After your response, I checked again and found CEC on the board. A quick internet search and I found the manufacturer.

How to figure out which tables are using Extensible Optimizer?

I'm sure that there're several tables those are associated with Extensible Optimizer in my database, I can also find the Extensible Optimizer relevant type and the implementation of interface functions ODCIGetInterfaces, ODCIStatsTableFunction.
I'm curious to know is there a way to figure out which tables are associated with this Extensible Optimizer, does anyone have any clues?

How to figure out which universes they use for a massive number of reports?

Hi,
In Web Intelligence or CMS or by using any means, is there an easy way to generate a list that shows all reports and the universes they use? The reason I'm asking this question is that I want to clean up universes but I need to know which reports use which universes. With over 1000 reports in repository, it is not feasible to go into every report to see which universes it uses.

The Query Builder does the trick: http://<CMS host name>:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/adminlaunch/query/ie.jsp although it cannot provide the location of the reports but it does provide the name and owner of the reports.

Will you help a clueless PC user trying to figure out which Macbook to buy?

Hi everyone! I am a PC user and am pretty clueless about Macs. I'm trying to buy a laptop for my boyfriend (a Mac user) as a gift and would be happy with any feedback you can give me. I think I'm trying to decide between the 13" Macbook Pro or the Macbook Air. He is a writer so pretty much his only requirement is to be ablet to run a writing program. He's also a director so at times he travels frequently. Thank for your help!

As others have posted, the MB Pro is much more powerful and feature rich than the Air. The only thing the Air has going for it is its thinness and weight. The other dimensions are pretty much identical to the 13.3" MB Pro. I think the MB Pro is also a much better value.
Now... having said that... does your boyfriend currently have a Mac notebook? I know you said he is a Mac user... but he may just have a desktop. If he does have a current Mac notebook... do you know what it is (and the size)?
Notebook choices can be very personal decisions and what you think he may prefer may not be what he would prefer. If you're going to spend the money on something like a new MacBook, you really want to be sure to get him the machine he wants vs. taking our suggestions. While the MB Pro is a much better machine all around, he may actually prefer the Air for his own reasons. After all, the MacBooks and MacBook Pros have been better machines and values than the Air since the Air was released... but they still sell them because there is still a market segment that wants them.
Maybe you could just treat him to a trip to a surprise trip to an Apple store where he can pick out what he wants. That way it's still a surprise, but you can be sure that he'll end up with what he wants.

I'd love some help trying to figure out why my 2008 MacBook no longer recognizes my external drive and now is not downloading photos from my iphone....?

After many years of having no problems at all on my Macbook, I recently figured I should finally upgrade my OS. I did that about three weeks ago, updating to Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I used Time Machine at least once after the OS upgrade but now Time Machine no longer recognizes the external drive I have used for all these years to back up. The MacBook does not "see" it. (Disk Utility does however.) The computer then also stopped recognizing another La Cie back-up that I have and now... my iPhone cannot download photos? Yikes.
I have, of course, shut down numerous times, used different cables (that worked for some) and the two USB drives. I even used a firewire. Nothing worked. I also tried to "Repair disk" on Disk Utility. It didn't work either, giving me an error (that I didn't save, sorry).
I read many other discussions on the file format of the external drive and of course I'd be happy to reformat the external drives--however, it is obviously a tad nerve-wracking to reformat drives before having an accessible back-up. Suggestions? I do not remember what file format they have but am pretty sure it's not the Mac file system someone mentioned. The drives are a 2009 WD "My Passport Elite" and La Cie 2007 d2 Quadra,
In terms of other hardware available, we do have another MacBook Air but it has started rejecting both drives as well (without the Snow Leopard upgrade). We have an old Dell but it wouldn't have the disk space to help out much.
Any thoughts on the process involved would be welcome. Any ideas on the iPhone rejection would be helpful as well! It is a 30gig iPhone 4 that has 20 or so gigs free (not clear as iTunes says that there are abour 18 Gigs on the phone but 24 free gigs? I may be bad at math but that's 40 gigs...).
I am checking out iCloud but apparently there are only 55 gigs available?

I verified the startup disk on Disk Utilityand nothing showed up.

The La Cie is format Windows NT Filesystem 3G ....At the time that I bought it I was still using a PC as well as a Mac and was told by afriend to use this format...

Yes, I used the Firewire cable from the La Cie and it is indeed present, though still not visible in Finder. Since it is not Mac OSExtended I know that I can't use Time Machine with it.
So, in summary...
I can plug in the La Cie and it is functional on the MacBook, visible on Disk Utility but not visible in Finder. The WD drive is not visible and not functional. So we can think it is indeed the WD that is not working.... Also, the iphone photos did, in the end, get downloaded, so it is not something more general.
Causes...
I forgot to mention that there is a "lost+found" file on the WD which apparently points to a UNIX /OS issue?
Some kind of "insurance"?....
I'm curious about how people avoid this kind of issue. You just regularly replace back-up drives and hard drives before problems come up? Time Machine is great and saves many of us from disasters, however, knowing that your Time Machine back-ups are vulnerable makes the whole system insecure. No way to have alarms ring before the drive goes out?
As for ways ahead...
It seems that I ought to be able to copy off of the WD to the MacBook then erase it and reformat it and start over again. However, I haven’t been able to see its contents except on random occasions. If you have any ideas on how to copy the Time Machineback-ups from the WD, again, I'm all ears!

HT201260 I'm trying to figure out which OS X version and build I need to completely reformat and then re-install the OS on my G4 Power PC (Quicksilver 2002)

So I've started my quest for the correct information and software required to completely erase and then re-install the OS on my G4 Power PC (Quicksilver 2002) roughly 2 days ago only to be stuck and very frustrated! So I could more than likely figure this out on own BUT the OS currently installed is so screwed up I cant even safe mode start it.. so I cant get the information I need from the "about this Mac" details if it were running. Is there another way to figure the correct OS X and build I'll need to reformat. I just want to return it to it's factory state and then give it to my kid. Need help trying to figure out unusual browser behavior

Every couple of days the browser on my balckberry 9300 refuses to connect to the internet. When I type in an adress the loading bar will appear at the bottom but then it will just stop and the browser will go back to the start page.Facebool and bbm still work properly. I can solve the problem via a battery pull but the problem returns again after 2 days or so

Trying to figure out which software this is

I have the X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card and has been working fine for the last year.
Recently, I wanted to use my current rig also as an HTPC.
Found that my XtremeMusic can do this just fine, using the FlexiJack. I've bought the Digital I/O accessory that allows me to hook up Coaxial or Optical in or out. Hooking optical to my AV reciever, didn't seem to work.
According to knowledge base, by enabling the Dolby Digital/DTS Bitstream Out option in Audio Console, or the On (External Decoder) option in Entertainment Mode or Audio Creation Mode.
Didn't seem to work...
Than I found more info on the knowledge base, using a Creative software where you can do more detailed setu

In the main installation menu there are two options, 'X-Fi' and 'MediaSource', select X-Fi and click on next. If you have installed part of the software suite it will give you the choice to add remove or repair, else choose custom installation. In the next screen or two you will be given the option to install the mode consoles.
Another option is to copy the entire installation CD to a hard dri've folder, copy 'engine32.cab' from ATH>\Audio\Setup to the individial app installation folder and run setup.exe from the app folder. The installation folders should be ACreMode EntMode and GameMode, I think you should also install ModeSw.

Trying to figure out easiest formula to use in iOS Numbers

To all you smart function Guru's. Looking for help to see if this can be done.
All help will be greatly appreciated here. Using Numbers on the iPad.
My situation. In the "Pick Up" box I select a location from a drop down, it then puts in a numerical figure in the "HOE 1" box from the HOE Chart. (Easy part).
Now once I "Pick Up" I then select a "Drop Off" location (it will only be a few different locations) and want that to pick a numerical figure, depending on "Pick Up" and "Drop Off" location selected, from the HOE Chart and input the numerical value into HOE 2 box. This is the problem. I want it to look also at the "Pick Up" location to select the correct altitude for the "drop off". i.e. I depart my standard location and I pick up from Citrus Mem Hosp and I am going to Shands (as in the picture) I need it to select the Altitude from the HOE Chart that corresponds to the Drop Off leg (HOE 2).
Pick Up Location selects from B Column (HOE Chart) HOE 1 altitude is picked from D column (HOE Chart).
Drop Off HOE 2 would be picked from E, F or G Columns (F & G not completed yet) of the HOE Chart.
I am not a novice in using Excel or charts but am a novice when it comes to complex functions. Please spell out some of the function with your reply.

Thanks for helping and I think you are on the right track. The formula works in iOS Numbers with a little tweaking with 1 problem. Why Apple can have the programs work the same is beyond me but hey, I am a Windows guy so I won't complain.
The problem is that, and its probably my fault in the way I asked. I need the Drop Off (Table "Location" B2) to select from the HOE Chart either Columns E, F, or G (possibly an H in the future) of the Pickup Locations ROW (Highlighted in Blue for this example)
example.
I leave my location (always the same) and go to Pickup Location = Citrus Mem Hosp. HOE 1 gives me altitude from highlighted Row + Column D (HOE Chart).
Now the complex part (to me)
I depart Citrus Mem Hosp (pick up location) and I am going to Shands (Column E (HOE Chart)) so I select that from my drop down list in "Drop Off" location(location table), I need HOE 2 (hoe table) box to give me the Altitude for Row (Citrus Mem Hosp) + Column E (Shands Column). If I select Orlando or Tampa Columns I would need it to select that altitude for the same Row.
I hope this explains it a little better and the pictures outline it a little more.
Your equation selected (once I input the correct Hospital name in my Drop off Location list) the altitude as if I was going from that location to GNV (Shands).
I hope this can be done as it would make our lives a lot easier and help us get in the air quicker.
