Help trying to load pics to timeline and it is locked
Not sure what happened... Usually i can just complete photo settings then grab photo and dragg to timeline. For some reason it will not allow. Is their an easy fix I am not getting here? Also it adds them to the back of the timeline when I complete the photo setting and when I try to grab the pic to move to the area I would like to place the pic the pic just dissapears???

that's indeed some odd behavior... never heard of...
the usual routine if ANY app on a Mac shows weirdness:
quit app/iMovie...
search on your harddrive:
user/library/preferences/ ...
look for
com.apple.iMovie3.plist
or
com.apple.iMovie.plist
drag (both) into the trash bin...
that resets any app/iMovie...
launch iM again..

The new Itunes software update is flawed! I had the same issue. You need to uninstall Apple components, then reinstall. Go to this link for instructions. Takes about 20 mins but works!

I downloaded the ios 7.0.2 update and it's asking for a passcode. I have tried my 2 passcodes, 0000, 1234, and it's locked up. I have never used a different passcode. HELP!!!
Not sure if this applies to your region, but in Australia the SIM password is often written on the "credit card" sized plastic card that the SIM was provided to you with the phone by the telco. Do you still have this? It could be in the iPhone box?

I have now tried to load this book twice. The first time it got stuck during the assembly process on page 6 of 66. The second time it got stuck on page 7 of 66. I've done a preview and it assembles fine. Any ideas would be awesome

By load do you mean order? It appears that there may be a damaged image on page 6 or 7.
Export all of the photos on those two pages to the desktop as Kind = Originals. Open each with Preview and save as a new jpeg file. Import lthose new files into iPhoto, add them to the book and use them to replace the existing photos in those two pages. Now try ordering again.
HOWEWVER, you might try this first: boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try to order from there. Keep the pdf Preview files you've created to compare with the printed copy when it arrives.

Help trying to get the F_ApiWinConnectSession initialized and running in the background.

I have the FDK8 and have been using framemaker as a processor of templates. We have successfully written a program that uses the framemaker in a user account currently logged in. In other words, USER A logs in with their account on Computer A and processes files just fine. Now, we would like to set up a system where jobs are submitted by USER A and runs on a remote Computer B which processes the document and saves it as a PDF.
We want to make it so users can submit a job through a web service using the .NET framework. We have tried to do this, however we are failing on one crucial part of our development. I am trying to use the single most important (asynchronis) connectivity line:
F_ApiWinConnectSession( NULL, NULL, &ClassID );
This is because we want to have framemaker start in the background with this execution of this service. Unfortunately, without the GUI available this command fails. We have obviously created a Progid and it has been registered in the registry. We did this by runnning :
FrameMaker.exe /progid:FrameMaker.Automation.2 /auto
Can anyone help me with trying to get framemaker to run in a background. Is there a way to process the documents without have the GUI up and loaded and then have it process the document.

The server license is more tuned to the type of output that you are creating, regardless of the number of users. If you are creating content from external sources and generating a PDF in an automated way via FM, then you need a server license (period).
Read your FM EULA carefully.

This has greatly impacted the database publishing side of things. If all of your content is completely created in FrameMaker, then you should be ok. However, if you create or get any content outside of FrameMaker and pass it through FM to make your documentation sets, then according to Adobe, you need to be using the FrameServer product (for creating the PDFs). -

yes I'm still able to receive sms but no pics... the strange thing is i was able to receive them about 2 hours ago... and now not able to receive them... and its the same with the person I'm texting with... which is very strange

HELP: Trying to print with a dot and matrix printer
Ok, here's the deal:
I own a very very old, 1985, OLIVETTI DM 292 printer and I want to try printing with it on Mac OS X 10.5.7 .
I am trying to use the generic EPSON 9- or 24-pin drivers that are present in OS X.
But so far I've had very little success.
I am using a parallel-to-USB cable that makes OS X recognize the printer as the name of the cable manufacturer.
Let's do an example:
I want to print a .doc, Microsoft Word document.
I PRINT and select the DaM printer.
The status window eventually comes to "GenericClass: waiting for device" and the printer freezes.
Previously, if I turned the printer off and then on immediately after it would print (even with the most possible chaos).. but this trick seems to be uneffective now.
Can you help me ?

I have had this problem with version 4.0 and keep trying a newer version but still have the same problem. I never had this problem with version 3.8. Should I go back to this version?
I do not have this problem using Google Chrome.

Help: Tried using disk install to erase and reinstall mac osx
Could someone please help me. I just bought a second hand macbook pro off someone and upon recieving it realised they hadn't erased everything and their user account was still set up and active as administrator. This means i'll have issues down the track doing updates etc.
I googled how to hard reset the computer to start from scratch and followed steps. Basically they were
1. Restart computer whilst holding down the command and r buttons (which I did)
2. When the wifi connection box comes up connect to reliable wifi (done)
3. Then it said go into the disk utility and erase the mac os extended disk (the problem here is 1. the steps didnt specify that it should be the macintosh HD disk erased and 2. It should be the mac os extended (journaled) version, i've just fogured this out after a lot more searching as to why the reinstall of mac OSX wouldn't then work)
now i'm freaking out that i've done irreperable damage given that the mac OSX base system (mac OS extended (non-journaled)) has been erased. Can anyone please tell me if this can be reinstalled? Or what I should do next?Afoster88 wrote:

That does help. The reason why the Macintosh HD partition is the only one where nothing is greyed out is that that's where your new OS X installation should be targeted (note that it's the only partition with room for a full OS X installation as well as your own files and applications). The option to erase is available in case you want to, for some reason, erase it again. Remember, you're booting from the Recovery HD and that's a partition on your HD too. You aren't allowed to erase the partition you booted from (hence, it's greyed out), and, since it's normally hidden, as are others, such as the EFI, it shouldn't be messed with anyway. -

I tried to load Firefox several times and it inserted Bing which I cant get rid of so I went to IE.
After repeated attempts to load the latest version of Firefox without loading Bing, or getting rid of Bing I failed at both attempts. I have found that I can use IE with Google and have gotten rid of Bing. This is too bad because I like Firefox - but I cant stand Bing. I looked at several web sites for instructions on how to get rid of Bing, but they all looked kind of chancey, and the supposedly simple fixes did not work at all. I hope you can figure out how to get rid of Bing. When you do, send me an Email.

Tried to load ios6 through itunes and it failed
docked and backed up iphone 4s to windows 7 pc running 10.7 itunes
selected install update in itunes
It ended with an unkown error dialog box that said you must restore your iphone to connect it to itunes

It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
