Help! Turn off the automatic alphabetizer

Every iTunes songlist I make automatically alphabetizes every song in the list.
There's no way to turn off this feature that I have discovered.

Are you trying to drag in a playlist or in a smart playlist?
You can't arrange your library or a smart playlist by dragging. You can only choose to sort by one of the columns.
You can drag songs up and down a regular playlist if you click in the column shown here:

You can try to clear the cache and cookies to see if that makes a difference:

My iphone 3gs has started showing the wrong time and date. All was fine until this afternoon when it changed. My apps have the right time and date. However the world clock is wrong. I have to turn off the automatic time setting to get the right time.

All was well until sometime this afternoon when it changed... to Nov 5 (2 days prior to today), and about 9 hours and some minutes before the actual time. The world clock for my time zone shows the same wrong date and time. My calender shows the same wrong date and time. The phone can not find my time zone any more. The only fix I found was to turn off the automatic setting for time. What is happening? Ideas?

then turned it off then on tapped time zone and typed london

Turning off automatic backup doesn't delete anything from your account, it only stops it from continuing to back up to iCloud. If you want to reduce your iCloud storage, this article provides some suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.

Yes you can do this - either the way you're already doing it by editing the published content or by changing the source code in the template itself.
I won't get into the details here cuz I have all this documented here:

See the iWeb Templates page. In short, what you have to do is show package contents for the iWeb app, open the Resources folder, open the .lproj folder for YOUR language, likely english, open the Templates folder and then one by one, for each page-type folder you find in there, you have to show package contents for your chosen template, unzip the index.xml.gz files, find the hyperlink settings in the XML, turn off the underline setting, save the file again and rezip it. Then any NEW pages you build will not contain underlined links. It sounds worse than it is.
If you tell me which template you're using, I'll go look in the file and tell you how to turn the underline code OFF. But you should read my instructions at my site before you even try to do this - I outline some things you should know before even opening up those XML files.

How do I turn off that automatic update that always brings me to the "what's new" web page? It was interesting the first time, but now it is just an irritation. I can check for updates on my own, so I want to turn off this feature. It just started up when I upgraded to Firefox 5. I can't find a place to stop it from checking and bringing me to that web page. Also, I can't stop it from checking add-ons every single time I open the browser.

Limewire has a preference to import to iTunes. Stop it in Limewire.
I use Azureus for bit torrents and it does not import to iTunes. I didn't know any bit torrent client would do that.

whenever i uplaod music from a cd, itunes automatically adjusts the volume. how do i turn off this feature and how do i get itunes to reverse all the adjustments made previously? i can't seam to find the location in itunes of the settings to reverse this.

You can also make per-song adjustments. Choose the song then File->Get Info

We have a problem with the Automatic link update in InDesign CS5.5 vers. 7.6
We want to see which images have been updated / modified (ie, marked with the yellow triangle in the links panel).
We want to be able to update the links manually.
Q1: Although we deselect the "Check Links Before Opening Document" and "Find Missing Links Before Opening Document"
under Preferences > File Handling the links get automatically updated even though we choose "Do not Update Links"
when we open the document.
Is it a bug, or is there another option to deselect the automatic update of links?
Q2: When we open old documents made in CS4, we get this error message (see the attached jpeg).
We believe it is because the links are missing in the CS4 document.
Just as many missing links in the document, as many times the error message is presented.
It's a loop that we can't pass.
Could these two problems be related?

This is not normal behavior. I wonder what is different for you.
If you deselect "Check Links Before Opening Document," you should not be prompted to "Do not Update Links." This suggest you have corrupt preferences. So try:

I just downloaded Firefox 4 on a Dell laptop with WinXP. When I'm in a browser window the window resizes automatically and the bar at the top (with the minimize, full and close buttons) disappears. When I drag the cursor up to the top the window resizes again and that top bar appears. Makes me crazy. How do I turn it off?

I'm not aware of the behavior you're describing. I've never seen it, and just tested it for myself. I cannot get windows to zoom to full screen just from moving them to or along the top of the screen. Is this only happening in Photoshop? If so, it may be a Photoshop issue. If not, have you installed any kind of third-party software that might be doing that? Try rebooting in safe mode and see if the problem persists then. If it doesn't, but comes back when you reboot normally, the problem is caused by some third-party software you have installed.

How can I turn off the automatic sound from videos on my iMac?

Just recently, videos on Safari start to play without my turning them on. How can I stop this? I was able to turn it off on my iPad, but do not know how to do it on my iMac. It is horrible.....I have to quit Safari in order to get the video stopped.
