HELP- UNABLE TO INSTALL BUILT-IN ISIGHT

WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE IS NOT RECOGNIZING MY BUILT-IN ISIGHT AFTER INSTALLING THE MAC WINDOWS DRIVERS USING THE BOOTCAMP DISK CREATION PROGRAM.

Welcome to Apple Discussions, OMEGA_1986 (please turn off your <caps lock> - hard to read)
Although iSight works with XP, it seems you may need to wait for Leopard to use it with Vista. See this recent thread from the Windows Compatibility Forum:

  • Help unable to install OS X as hard drive not visible in internet recovery mode

    Hi
    I have a MacBook Pro
During use my screen froze and I had to force quit. Since then I have tried the following:
    Turning on in safe mode
Internet recovery - no mac hd or partition recovery drive are visible in disk utility only OS X base system
Unable to install maverick as there's no disc visible to select
If I try to verify the start up disc is greyed out
    Starting up with cmd r
    Tried to reset PRAM
Start up disc does not display anything
ALL TO NO AVAIL, is the hard drive defunct or is there anything else I can try ?
    Many thanks for your help
    Elie

See this thread, this is 3rd regarding recovery/restore - as a starting point.
Obviously it is easier if you have a couple backups, a drive you can use, and don't mind erasing the internal drive.
It is a lot easier then. And it would be easier if you didn't have a notebook. This forum is not MacBook Pro but the tower or workstation.

Try the suggestions in Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight. The reset suggested there often corrects the problem you report.

  • Help!!!  Built in iSight Not Functioning on Brand New 24" iMac

I just purchased an iMac 24" 2.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor computer, and the built-in iSight camera will not function.
The store that I bought the computer from, informed me prior to purchase that several previous customers experienced the same problem, and that I should return to the store should I experience the same thing.
Is there a software fix for this????
Is there a preference fix for this???

As stated. I followed the Apple Support webpage instruction listed below. Still no success. My isight will not function with any other application (ie. iChat, iMovie, PhotoBooth, etc...)\
G5 (iSight) or later, the MacBook, or MacBook Pro.
    1. See if the issue is application-specific.
Try another application (iSight works with applications like iChat, PhotoBooth, and iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If it only happens in one application, try reinstalling that application.
    2. See if the issue is user-specific.
Test your iSight camera in another user account. If the issue only occurs in one user, the issue would be isolated to user settings.
    3. Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
    4. Reset SMC or PMU Reset your computer's SMC or PMU, and then check System Profiler again. (SMC reset instructions for iMac G5 (iSight), Intel-based iMacs; PMU reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro.)
If your built-in iSight camera is still not behaving correctly after trying all these steps, you may need to contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

  • Re: help.... built in isight on macbook

I am experiencing the same problem on my MBP. I was in the middle of a video chat using Skype, when the window froze, the green status light went out, and my conversation got cut off.
Now, the camera is not accessible by any program. I too get the camera icon with the line through it in iChat and Photobooth.

Welcome to Apple Discussions, Hello Globalmark
An internet service interruption could have caused your Skype freeze.
Before you go back to work on Skype, try the suggestions in Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight. The reset suggested there often gets iSight working again. Test your iSight with Photo Booth, iMovie, etc. to be sure it is working.
If you still have a problem with Skype after you know that your iSight is working with other apps, see Skype's comprehensive Help system for help with your Skype-specific problems.
If you cannot find the answer you need from Skype's Knowledgebase, Troubleshooter, User Guides, or dedicated Skype-user forum, you can get technical support directly from Skype.

  • Who can help me out with my built-in iSight issue?

Okay, so I have a question regarding my built-in iSight.
Now, I know... This question may have been asked before but I just can't find it, I guess it got lost in the mass.
If you would be friendly enough to forward me the message or instruct me on what I need to do to solve this, that would be a great help.
Also, I'd like to know if I have to reset anything will I lose everything on my Mac? Should I make an external backup?
So basically the issue is that whenever I turn on Photo Booth the only thing I get is a black screen.
The program will let me take a picture, but when I want to see a preview of the image, it's not there.
I then tried to use my iSight with iChat, which worked perfectly fine. After that I did the same with Skype,
but Skype didn't let me see anything but black as well.
Can anyone help me please?? Is this an issue that can be fixed myself or should I bring it to the Apple Store?
As this is a very important matter to me, because my parents are moving out of the country soon and I would like
to keep in touch through Skype, I would really appreciate all the help!!!
    Thank you in advance guys!

You have a software problem that will require troubleshooting.  With your parents moving soon, I understand your concern.
Because you have been unable to correct the problem using the suggestions that are already posted in iSight discussions, I suggest you make an external backup and then take your Mac to the Apple Store for service.
If you like, the Apple Store may even be able to suggest training that will allow you to troubleshoot and fix future occurrences on your own.

  • E71-1 unable to install component is built it

i will try to instal the update of quickoffice . But few years ago when I install the update it's on but now it show the error unable to install component is built it. Not only the update it show the message to some more software. So how to solve the problem. And another thing , the encryptin to the phone memory process the battery is fall down then the phone data is corrupt then I was reinstall the software to my Phone . My RM- 346 500.21.009 and nokia E71-1 updated

    Hi sasiharikrishna,
    Welcome to the Nokia forum!
Please uninstall the application by selecting the application in the Menu of your phone and pressing Options>Delete.
Now take a back up of the data of your phone with Nokia Suite, and don't make a back up of your settings. Now hard reset the device by entering *#7370* into your phone. The default security code is 12345, unless you have changed this code yourself.
After you have reset the device, update or reinstall the current software with Nokia Suite, by clicking on the green arrow.
Once you have hard reset and updated the device, place the backup back onto your phone (and in case you have paid for QuickOffice, contact your local Care line who will be able to reactivate any licenses you paid for).
The application should work perfectly after doing this.
Let me know how you get on!

  • Itunes 64 bit on windows 7 is unable to install, i have the 64 bit installer version but it keeps saying "errors occurred" at the ( rolling back ) phase. HELP!

itunes 64 bit on windows 7 is unable to install, i have the 64 bit installer version but it keeps saying "errors occurred" at the ( rolling back ) phase. HELP!!!

I have the answer and this might be useful for any one else wondering about this in the future. If it helped you or explained what you wanted to know. Replay to the post pls
It's quite easy actually. First have your "iTunes Library Extras", "iTunes Library Genius", "iTunes Library", and "iTunes Music Library" backed up. Download ans install iTunes 64-bit. I don't know what's so 64-bit about iTunes 64 since Win7 reports it as a 32-bit application in the task manager. But anyway. Install iTunes 64 and launch it. If you migrated your library to another drive like me go to settings in iTunes and change the directory to your location. Close iTunes. Replace the newly created files with your backed up files. Launch iTunes. iTunes will load and then update your library and from there you are set to go! so basically it is just like a normal upgrade. But if you hesitated to go from 32 to 64 like me, here is your answer.
By the way. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit with iTunes 64-bit and it works without problems and syncing with my iPod Touch also works flawlessly.

  • I followed your help directions on "Corrupt extension files" under "Unable to install add-ons", foolishly deleting the files you told me to. Now firefox won't open. I tried reinstalling firefox but it still won't open. Now what do I do?

I was trying to install the SEOQuake add on. After clicking install Firefox would hang up saying the script had timed out and asking if I want to stop it or continue. Didn't matter which option I chose nothing would happen. The only way to stop it was to close Firefox and restart. Tried restarting the computer. Still wouldn't install. Tried installing the Outwit add on and got the same error leading me to conclude it was a problem with Firefox, not the add on. I found this help page <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons?s=addons+won't+install&as=s> and did everything it told me to. Finally at the end I got to "Corrupt extension files". I foolishly deleted the files you told me to and now Firefox won't even start! I tried reinstalling Firefox and it still won't start. Tried restarting the computer. I have no idea how to get back to where I was let alone install the add ons I wanted to install. Please help. At this point I'd just be happy to be able to get Firefox working.

See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br />

I am unable to install itunes. I get the pop-up asking if I want to save or cancel the iTunes64 file. I click save... and then nothing happens. Help!

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
