Help! Unable to open, or even reinstall iTunes!

iTunes worked fine in my Samsung netbook for the last year or so, but today it refused to open at all. So I uninstalled it, using the directions on apple.com, and tried to reinstall. First it said the download would be complete in 1 hour, then 2, then 4, 5, 6 etc. Now it says TWO DAYS.
What the heck???
What did I do wrong, and what can I do to fix this????

hi
its probably soemthing to do with the digital certificate, the itunessetup.exe available from the apple website does not have a valid one, you see lots of versions of windows will not allow unsigned/certified software to run on it, for its security.
you shouldn't have this problem if you got a mac.
I don't know what the problem is it would only take a couple of minutes to digitally sign the file, then all the un necessary downloads that use up bandwidth wouldn't occur,
lets face it the download is about 90MB and download for the new 4.2 OS for the IpodTouch is about 600MB, this doesn't have a valid cert either, well not according to windoews anyway.
My guess is its Apple and Microsoft at loggerheads again, neither budging, us consumers always lose out.
Time is money if apple and microsoft had to fork out for all the lost time they have caused the b'st'ds would be bankrupt.

I am unable to update, uninstall, or reinstall iTunes on my laptop.  Everything was working fine until recently when there was an update available for iTunes, and when I tried to update this, I got the message, "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.  This may indicate a problem with this package. Error code is 2330."  Can somebody please help me?
    System configuration:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits.
    Version:  6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    System Directory:  C:\Windows\system32
    RAM:  1.00 GB.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

    Hello Sean,
It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If that does not resolve it the symptoms indicate to me that it is a hardware issue causing this to happen and would seek service for it:

  • Unable to open or re-install iTunes

I am not able to open iTunes, I get the message 'this application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was nit found.' I tried to reinstall itunes, but it does not work either.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Unable to update, deleted and reinstalled Itunes and my Pioneer DVR 218-L will not run. Install corrupted driver. Have tried to delete and reinstall 3 times 11.1.64 and not working?

I recently attempted to " update " iTunes and received the missing .dll and Windows error message it seems everyone is posting. I had to delete  not only Itunes, but the Apple update and other associated file in order to get my Pioneer DVD DVR 218-L to work. The driver would not work and Microsoft had no fix for this. It told my registry was corrupt. Apple should certainly fix this problem. Now I cannot run iTunes at all unless I do not want a functioning DVD drive?

I am having the same issue with Vista 64 bit: After many failed download attempts ("network error") the Progress Bar briefly appears and that's it.
Searched for solution that led me to running "Microsoft FixIt", deinstalling iTunes, Apple Software Update, Mobile Dev Support, Bonjour, and Application Support - even manually deleting common files that were left over (tough with Vista). No difference. FYI, I was able to get rid of the Apple folder in Program Files (x86)/Common File, but not in Program Files/Common Files ... but that shouldn't make a difference as I am installing iTunes64Setup.exe, right?
I even tried iTunes 10.7 and 10.6.3 from Apple's support page ... same differnce.
Had a lot of security updates on 1/22/14 (all related to Office 2007 (including SP3), though). So I tried to restore past this point, but an "unknown error" occurred and I am stuck where I am ... lovely.
So now my system is chopped and I seem to not be able to get iTunes even close to my computer ... :-(
Just Irritatedtech said: Any suggestions are highly welcome ... - Thx.

An immediate remedy would be to download Libre Office, then you can work while investigating Pages issues.
