Help, unable to setup AX as a client

I am a new windows convert (less than a week) and so far I love my new iMac. Wishing to stream my itunes to the stereo I purchased an Airport Express. I am able to make it work as a separate network but have been very unsuccessful at making it work as a client to my 2wire network. As soon as the settings are applied it disappears never to be seen again until I reset it and start over. I have suspected it is a password issue that I simply don't understand well enough to fix. I put in the WEP password just as I did when I set up my iphone (which works perfectly) but to no avail. Has anyone had this problem and been able to solve it? Or, does anyone have any ideas?

I can't yet provide you with a solution, but I hope to, or hope someone can help both of us.
I'm having exactly the same problem, go thru all set up, get to the "waiting for the apple device to restart" and then all gone. An additional wrinkle, I shut off the power to the AEX, turn it back on, and suddenly my other AEX, my internet connection one, corrupts and I lose connectivity. I shut off the power to the second one, shut off Airport (on the iMac) and then turn it back on and I've got connectivity, but no second AEX.
I'm going to detail my setup below, hoping that we can find some commonality, or someone can diagnose for us.
iMac Intel and an AEX to create a wireless network, Earthlink DSL modem and as ISP.
I have it on bridge mode, instead of public address, since there are a number of Apple publications indicating that Earthlink's way of assigning IP addresses requires bridge mode. (And I couldn't get consistent connectivity for some time until I did switch to bridge mode).
I tried twice to set up second AEX to join the network, provided necessary passwords, etc. And at restart, it was no longer visible in Airport Utility. Soft reset and the device is discoverable again, set up to join network, AEX 2 disappears.
Now, could it be the allow client check box? I haven't had a chance to retry since checking that.

I even tried to add this directory using Add lib/directory pane, but no help.
Please suggest what to do...

Got it....i paid the price of not understanding the error messages and expecting bc4jclient and ctrl+enter is a magic wand :)

Unable to setup eprint on my HP5520

Hi I have a HP 5520 all in one deskjet printer. I am unable to setup webservices and thereffore ePrint on my all in one. It gives an error saying unable to connect to service try again later. I have tried several times but it does not work. I read somewhere on the forum to manually set the DNS but that does not work because as soon as I restart the printer it looses the setting. Please help.

Hi there, are you changing the DNS settings from he printer embedded web server? Try the following:
Type the printers IP address into URL bar of your web browser
Click the Network tab on the screen that displays
Click Networking, then Network Address (IP)
Set the DNS settings as per the screenshot below and click Apply

Unable to setup Inventory

The Install of Oracle 8i on a Solaris 8 System is in progress an the Server goes down.
In the second Step, I reboot the System an try to reinstall Oracel, it causes a problem like this.
After I type the groupname "dba", a window open that means: Unable to setup Inventory, you may not have proper Permissions.
In the First Time I start the Script "orainstRoot.sh", it ist possible that the Script writes anything? Where can I find this? Please, can everyone help me?

You have to log in as root to run the .bash shell. Create a directory 'OraInventory' when logged in as root. Then log in as the user 'oracle'(create one if you don't have one yet) and perform the installation process while keeping a terminal window open and logged in as root.
Throughout the installation process you will have to do some procedures as root so keep the window open.
p/s enter a group ID that's valid. If you put DBA then make sure there is such a group and the group has permission to create write into directories.

Has anyone had this problem when the GROUP NAME screen appears. After I type the groupname "oinstall", a window opens and states the following:
"Unable to setup Inventory, you may not have proper Permissions."
What is puzzling is that it (Oracle Universal Installer) is able create the directory structure /d01/app/oracle/oraInventory/Install.Platform. Which implies that it has the proper permissions. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Well, there isn't much I can do.
Does anyone have an answer to this problem or have seen this before?

Check the list of prerequisites in the installation manual and be sure you have all of them. Also the manual or couple page addendum that comes with it should refer to an online site where you can find updates. Be sure to check it.
I ran the 9.2.0 install and applied 9.2.0.4 on AIX 5.2L without a hitch so I do not think I could be of much help. But one thing you might want to consider is if Oracle says that a piece of the OS is missing then even if you are running the machine standalone you might need the "group" piece to be installed as part of the OS.
I am not an administrator so the name did not strike any bells but I once tried to install Oracle on a Silicon Graphics box only to discover that it was missing the C compiler. Oracle needs the archive feature to access libraries during the install (link) and failed to install because it was missing. Once I got it installed the reinstallation went perfect.

Unable to setup eprint

Unable to setup eprint.
My printer was working with eprint fine until I got a new router. Since then I cannot seem to use or setup eprint.
It is connected on the home wireless network and this is working fine to print documents.
I have reset factory settings for webservices but still no luck. Keep coming up that I am not connected to a network and wants a proxy

Try restarting your Wifi - Router.
Check the maximum number of devices that can be connected to your Wifi - Router.
Try disconnecting other devices and connect your Printer and Laptop to the router and try the below option.
EPrint Setup Process for your printer.
1. Connect the printer to a network with Internet Connection. (Make sure your laptop or Computer is connected to the same network as Printer)
2. Check the Printers IP address on the printers front panel.
3. Type the IP address of the printer on a browser on your computer and press Enter.
4. On the Webpage that appears click HP Web Services Tab.
5. If your network supports proxy you can add the proxy in this page.
6. Review and accept the terms of use, and then click Enable Button.
7. The printer should print an information sheet with code on that.
8. <code>@hpeprint.com will be your email ID.
This is just a method to register the printer to cloud from the Laptop. You can also try to register the printer from front panel as well.

I tried to search in the forum before I sent this request and I did not find my answer.
I am using Production suite CS4, Windows 7. I am trying to figure out whatr is the best export setups (codec) to send to the post captioned place who works with Final cut pro. It is a 45 min documentayy shot on hxp170 that will be broadcasted on APTN channel (standard and HD). I shot 720p 24 fps (native) My files are 1.33 pixel ratio.
I want the best quality possible regardless of the size of the file.
Can Avid DNxHD codec work? (I googled and did not find a proper answer)
Also a problem: I tried to export an MXF version and an uncompressed AVI. I used Sapphire plug ins (cartoon, film scratch, glow etc) and with some export setup, it make some clips slide up or left of the screen!!! Anyone had that before?
Also: should I export 24 fps or 23.976?

In reference to your first question, it might be worth asking them what they WANT. They may have a preferred pre-broadcast format, and if you can supply that, it may save your material from being transcoded (again).

hello, for the old sync system in firefox 28 and below you also had to sign up with a mail address and password originally - to connect firefox to the old account you would need to have all those three pieces (mail, password & recovery key) available to you unfortunately...

8.1.7 install error: Unable to Setup Inventory

I have problem with the installation of 8i 8.1.7.
After the first Welcome , and the second Source and Destine, the next windows don't appear. The message "Unable to Setup Inventory, You may no have proper permissions" display.
Oracle 8.1.7, for AIX 4.3.3

I've run into this when I had 2 Oracle homes (each with a different user -- oracle & ias, but the same group -- oinstall). It was a permission problem.
I'd check 2 things. First, that the ownership is correct. If not, fix by something along the lines of chown -R oracle.oinstall $ORACLE_HOME/oraInventory. Second, make sure the permissions are right on the directory. For the oraInventory directory, I usually do chmod -R 775 oraInventory (you could get away with a 755 as long as you only have one owner for the system, which sounds like the case -- I use the 775 because of the two owner issue I mentioned before). That should do it.
