Help understanding colorspace between apps?

I've been experimenting tonight with loading the same file into Lightroom 2, Apeture, and Preview (OSX's default image browser). The file is a RAW file from a Pentax K7 in .dng format. The K7 is set to use sRGB as its colorspace.
When I load this same file directly into each of the three above applications, the color is different in each of them. With both LR2 and Apeture I attempted to leave the settings completely neutral... in LR2 I did a "Reset All Settings" on the image before making this comparison. I am attaching a screengrab where I've laid the 3 images out on my desktop. From left to right: Apeture, LR2, Preview. As you can see, the color balance is different in each image, with LR2 being the most "different". But if you set the Apeture and Preview versions next to each other, they are fairly different in color temperature as well. Also and most obviously, LR2's version is far more saturated than the others. Also, the LR2 image shows considerably more ISO noise in the sky. (This was shot at ISO 2000, for those who are interested in how the K7 looks under those circumstances).
I guess my question is just what's going on here, and, am I doing something wrong, especially in Lightroom, when I'm importing the photos, such that the proper color isn't being reproduced? (Not that I'm sure that the lightroom version is "wrong", but on the other hand I don't recall the sky being quite that dramatic a color of blue while I was there.) I've done some basic reading on color management in Lightroom 2 so I'm still getting the hang of things...

Actually I forgot. We are shooting RAW. Therefore colorspace doesn't get applied
in camera.

I process in AdobeRGB.
I may convert later on to sRGB. Depends on whether I am printing or uploading to web. There are still browsers that do not recognize other ICC profiles. Other than sRGB.
I have no experience with Aperture.
I would think that if I opened one of my NEF RAW files in LR, PS RAW, and NX Capture; I would see a difference.
Though each has the tools to adjust. Isn't that the beauty for why we shoot in RAW?

Need help understanding Background App Refresh

I'm trying to understand how Background App Refresh works. Whether it is on or off, whenever I switch to another app it will reload the page/app. Games start back at the home screen, webpages reload, all my typing (notes etc) disappear, it's as if I'm opening the page/app for the first time over and over. I don't keep more than a few things open at once, so I'm not a multitask hog. I assumed that with the Background App Refresh on it would keep the things open and current. Is it a RAM issue? Why do things keep reloading? Even if it's only Safari with one tab and I'm typing an email, when I go back to Safari the page reloads and I need to find what I was looking at again...
Anyone else experience this? iPhone 6 Plus with the latest iOS.

This is the key phrase from that page: "Some apps can continue to run in the background. You can allow these apps to refresh themselves by turning on Background App Refresh. This settings lets apps check for new content and download updates, or retrieve updated content in the background when they receive push notifications."
Only some apps can retrieve updated data through background app refresh (BAR). *All* apps can enter multitasking and be opened quickly...but this is NOT the idea behind BAR. BAR capable apps have the additional ability to refresh their data & content if they are enabled to do so. Just because an app is in multitasking, it doesn't mean it's capable of background app refresh.

AppID during application update and Difference between app id and product id

I understand once a app is in store it has a associated Appid. How does this differs from the product id?
During each app update does the product id's should be same?
or during the store certification process will the appid and the product ids be mapped?
How does the product id and App id differ if this is not the case?
Can you provide some article which actually explains what is the difference between XAP uploaded and xap after certification?

In that case the dev account from which the update is done will have the unique id or appid and the appid or the product id mapping will be always done by the store certification process.
I'm not clear on this part whether the developer who does the update of the app should update the id or the process which does the certification of the app as an update will update automatically do it?.

What is the difference between apps and applications?

I have an application that I've been running on my older Mac. Now that I have a new MacBook Pro, I have to reinstall new software that is compatible. When I go to the vendor website I see an application I can download or a link to the Mac App Store. Is an application different than an app? When should you download them from a vendor website and when should you go to the app store? Do apps end up in the Launchpad and an application in your Applications folder? I can't seem to find information on what is the distinction. Are they actually two different things? Any help would be appreciated.

No difference between apps and applications. If you download the app from the Apple AppsStore you have better security and a conveninet place to have all your downloads. Nothing wrong with downloading from a trusted developer though.
EDIT: Yes they will either wind up in your Download folder as a .dmg you will have to double-click on to install, or most app store apps will install to your Applications folder.

I need help understanding how the Apple components connect to create a whole system across all my devices?
Is there a resource that describes current system and associated functionality?
For example:
Buy A, B, C to achieve "X"
You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
add D to achieve "Y"

add "E" to achieve "Z"

For example, I am looking at the Gen 6 Airport extreme. For intended performance do I need broadband? if so what are the specs, or will basic internet service suffice? Do I need the internet provider's modem or does the Airport extreme replace that? And then I think, if I am doing this, I should also look at Apple TV....What do I need and Why? Then I look at the New Desk top coming out in the fall, and I think well, if I wait and get this, what does this component do for the system, and what becomes redundant? What does this awesome desktop do for my ability to sit and use a new macbook air when I travel or sit on the couch in my PJs?
If there was a place that plainly stated "if you buy the new dektop you can configure a system including only these components and achieve <this result> and by adding <additional components> you will achieve this result.
I have been to the genius store a few times, but I come out of there more confused unless I have SPECIFIC questions or already know what to buy.
A "System Configuration App" would be a really great sales tool--Just saying.

No Apple device will let you watch broadcast TV. The Apple TV is a good option for watching streaming TV from iTunes, NetFlix and Hulu. If you want to watch from other sources, you may need to look at other devices.
Any Mac computer or iPad will allow you to surf the web.
What business software?
Time Capsule is a good option for back ups.
Update what across all devices?
For accessing documents from all devices, a service like Dropbox is your best bet.
I have no idea what "step as far away from an internet provider as possible" means. If you want Internet access, you need an Internet provider.
Lighting fast speed for what? Processor? The specs are listed for all devices in the Online Store. Internet? We're back to the service provider.
Technology changes. The only way to keep pace with it beyond a couple of years is to buy new stuff.
The bottom line is you need to look at the specs for devices availble and at your budget and decide what best meets your needs. If you are unable to do that on your own, there are lot of technology consultants out there who will, for a fee, look at your exact situation, make recommendations and even handle the purchase and set up. Perhaps that would be the best route for you.

IPod on iPhone 4 starts playing when switching between apps

My iPhone 4's iPod starts playing when I switch between apps, it goes on and off

Not sure if this is the deal or not, when I click on my ipod app it's playing a song, I can't here any music but the pause button is showing, is it playing and running down the battery.. BTW I never seem to have earphones around to see if it's playing, however I have sync in my car and it is playing when I switch to aux..

Hello people,
I just run for the second time a full import, and it said it finished correctly.
The first time I run it, there was a message which said that the import had finished with 2249 errors (I checked my log and not all of them were errors but messages). I checked each single message and only had to solve a couple of things.
I first created a user in response to an ora-29393: user string does not exist or is not logged on.
The second thing I did was to run the utlrp.sql file in response to an ORA-39082. I did this according to this blog.
I know oracle is taking precedence each time I run an import. I don’t know if what I have done is okay or perhaps not all data was imported after all. This is the thread which I posted initially when errors came out.
Any reply is a supply.

How to switch between apps in mission control shortcut key

I open two apps in my macbook, how can i select the app without clicking on it?.I know that f3 > mission control and then click, but i want to switch between apps with keyboard shortcut.Thanks in advance for your help.( I am runnig lion).

Hold down the cmd (⌘) key and briefly press the tab key (⇥) then use the left/right arrow keys to select the application you wish to switch to. When done release the cmd key.

Bug when using four finger trackpad gesture to switch between apps?

When I use the four figure trackpad gesture to toggle between apps, once I select the app it is shown the app is selected in the menu bar, but it doesn't open minimized windows. Maybe this how it is supposed to operate, but if I have a minimized window, I want the "app toggler" to restore it. The point of me using the "app toggler" is to avoid me having to go to the dock.

Jndi communication between app servers?

I'm quite familiar with J2EE and its communication architecture. In the past, I haven't had the need to communicate from one app server to another (just all web/applet clients to the central app server). But now I need to :)
Is there a way to communicate (synchronously) between app servers on different machines that aren't clustered? Clustering is not a possibility.
I know JMS is an option, but JMS is asyncrhonous. I also know you can't create server sockets in an app server because the J2EE spec disallows this approach, so forget about client/server communication via sockets.
This would be my ideal solution:
Server A does a jndi lookup for a bean on server B. Server A gets this reference and works with it just like any other J2EE client to server B.
Does JNDI allow you to do lookups to other namespaces outside of the current namespace on server A?
Can this even be done?

Yes. It's possible. For one of my applications, I have three HP-UX servers that run i2 software on them, but for different business units. I have a J2EE application that does a little bit of everything for the i2 applications. Since the business logic is the same, with only the business dept differing, I deployed 3 instances of JBoss, each running on their own server. My user's log into one of the applications, doesn't matter which, and if they request a service (EJB) that needs to run on a different server, my webapp makes a connection to that server and uses the remote EJB to do the work. It's very possible and an excellent solution.
The solution will depend on which J2EE server you're using.
Here's a class I use to retrieve the InitialContext I need for my application:

Works great. We are also a weblogic shop, but I haven't made any calls to weblogic from outside my J2EE app yet, but it should only differ by the hash attributes you pass to new InitialContext( props ).

Switching between apps launched through RemoteApp from Windows 2008 R2 server

I have a problem with RemoteApp on Windows 2008 R2 Standard SP1.
When I try to switch between apps, launched from RD Web Access web-page, it is not always succeded. Instead of it the target app blinks and I still remain at the previous app. In another words, the next app window remains behind the previous
app window and I have to minimize the previous app before switching to the next app.
Following the recommendations given by the TechNet Online Chat assistant, I've been installed all the available updates on that server from the Microsoft Update, but it didn't help us.
Is there any way to resolve this trouble?

I dont want to copy all data, only data that have been filtered by WorkStatus. I cant use DESTINATION_APP in Script Logic because I need to filter
Structure app is the same. Origin app is APP_A and destination app is APP_B.

I am simulating an Ipad device in flash CS6, with AS3, and I have made one scene for the desktop (with all the app icons) and another scene for each app.
I'm using buttons to navigate between apps (each app icon is a button), and made another button for the Ipad home button to go back to desktop.
By the way , I'm using this code for the buttons;

It works fine , but I would like to add a transition effect (like a fade out, or something similar to what ipad actually do) when you open an app or go back to desktop (change scene).

Doing trransitions along a timeline using scenes is not very designer-friendly. You are better off avoiding the using of frames and even the timeline. Just have each section as a movieclip in one frame and control the visibility of each. Then you can use Actionscript to fade things in and/or out as needed, while having the benefit of easily retaining the states of sections already visited. You should be able to convert each scene into a movieclip by copying the timeline into a movieclip.
