Help uninstalling Leopard/ re installing SL, getting my system back!

Okay so I installed Snow Leopard a week or two ago, it is awful and I wanted Leopard back.
So without any prior research I stupidly just put my Leopard disk in and went through the installation. Making a new account, etc ,etc.
So now I'm running leopard with NO applications, NO photoshop, NO iWork, NO drivers, just the basics.
All of my programs are in a folder that the mac created for me called "previous systems". When I try to drag photoshop or iwork out it won't let me use it because of the license.
At this point I don't care whether I run Leopard or Snow Leopard I just want my old system back with all of my programs and drivers. Preferably without reinstalling photoshop and iwork with the disk.
Step by Step help would be greatly appreciated.

Alright, I have successfully reinstalled everything and it works. This was probably a good thing because it allowed me to get rid of the junk on my system(canon software, random downloads, unnecessary adobe crap), so it's like new. And I didn't lose my iTunes playcounts!! I am very happy with leopard and won't install SL until several more updates, if ever. I will keep that post in mind before re-installing.

Check out he article below to troubleshoot your install issues with iTunes. You may need to right click on the install file and click Run as Administrator.

Wow, you didn't make a backup of your files first?

All I can say is make sure you have the same account name on the computer like before, even if you have to create a new user under System Preferences>accounts, then log into your itunes account with that and try to reverse sync from the iPhone like you would normally.
Apple doesn't expect one to go backwards, so they are not all that friendly, you may have to ask around on MacRumors for third party software that can reverse sync from iOS devices.

The first time I attempted to install ML was on a late 2011 MBP. It ran for three minutes then gave me the error message: Could not install OSX due to an unexpected error. I was using the original ML install app, not a USB or other drive.
After a couple of restarts wiht the same result I saw a message to the effect that the install was trying to close open apps. I closed apps manually a few times to no avail. I shut down instead of restarting then booted into Safe mode (hold down the shift key when starting) and that did it. The install went smoothly after that.
I since installed ML in two iMacs using a cloned copy of the install app on a USB drive. This time I shut down the computers and booted into Safe Mode first and there were no problems.
I don't know if this issue is the one causing you these problems but it is a simple enough solution to try.

After refresh I would like to get my system back.

After refresh required when system would not come out of repair after allowing 2 HP epdates--- I have lost most software and would like to get my system back. I have a windows.old directory with about 24 days left before it self destructs.
How can I use this to get back to a useful machine?
I have backed up My Documents etc on Nero backup but that is one of the programs knocked over by the refresh.

Can I uninstall leopard and install tiger without problems?

I'm considering purchasing a refurb iMac - I don't want an iMac mind you, but the Mac Pros are simply priced way over my head and I need a new computer!
I can't get a straight answer from Apple about whether it will have Tiger or Leopard on it but because of Adobe's refusal to make CS2 compatible with Leopard, I must use Tiger.
I've been told I can, if I must, uninstall Leopard and reinstall Tiger but I've also been told I'll end up with a host of problems doing that
does anyone know if this will work or not?
Apple is driving me crazy... no one will asnwer that question for me
and why they don't have a mid-range Mac Pro is beyond me but what do I know?

I look at the Apple Store refurbs list on a daily basis.
The longer you wait, the higher the chances that you will receive an iMac that was produced following Oct 26, and was therefore released with Leopard as the MINIMUM version of OS X. Currently, I'd guess that there is VERY little (almost zero) chance of that - today - but more chance as each day passes.
A refurb purchased now will have Tiger on DVD, and Tiger installed. The box will contain an upgrade disc that will install Leopard.
As time goes on, Apple will start to receive Leopard Macs (Leopard on DVD, and installed, but no Tiger) produced after Oct 26 that get shipped back from the stores after buyers have returned them. Those returns to Apple, and Apple's refurbishment process, do not occur overnight. Those Leopard Macs will not be able to run Tiger, or if they will run it, it will not be supported by Apple (no phone support/no warranty until Leopard would be installed).

There are some (lower-priced) Mac Pros sold with the slower processor option, but they are seldom seen on the refurb list, and sell quickly when do appear. One would certainly sell within minutes of being placed on the list this close to the holidays. (A good alternative at a close price w/o sales tax: eBay 250194178376)
There are others besides Apple selling the older production Macs and advertising that they have Tiger on them, not Leopard. (From a third party, I very recently purchased a Mac Pro NIB with Tiger only.) Those units will be available less and less as each day goes by. I have purchased a Leopard family pack for possible future use.
Don't wait too long to make up your mind, or the choice will no longer be available for you:) A mid-priced Mac Pro might be one of the last G5s, so you might want to look at eBay item 120191603098 (I have no affiliation on either eBay item, just a bystander).

As to the question iMac vs Mac Pro or G5 - do you already have a display for a tower? A big factor in the decision.

Paid app was faulty, uninstalled immediately, how do I get my money back?

Calendar Me doesn't work. The calendar extended beyond the edge of the screen, no way to see the weekend dates which are when I'm the busiest, no way to adjust it. Complete fail. How do I get my money back?

Right, there are the two things I can do with my Windows XP machines and can't find a valid solution on Mac OS X yet:
1. Folder Sync
I use 5 computers everyday, 2xMacs+1PCs at home, 1xMac at school and 1xPC in my office (part-time sys admin). It is obvious that i will need the folder sync feature so that I can keep working on one project on different computers. For windows there's a very neat feature called Briefcase, it bascially allows me to create two folders in different locations ( one in PC1, one memory stick for example ) and will automatically make sure these two folders sync with each other once connected . Just wondering if there's any software that allow me to do this on a Mac? and if it allow multiple sync (i.e. keep folders stored in 3+ locations up to date with each other, via network or portable storage device) that'll be even better.
2. Backup.
Since WInNT microsoft provides a Backup facility that allows me to perform regular backups of the entire system. except for the first backup which will copy my entire partition / harddrive content, the later ones will only add changed/newly created files to the existing backups (to save space and speed up the process). Carbon Disk Copy etc are merely GHOST-like utilities in Windows terms and does not have any advance features nor do they provide supports to exterenal hard drives (USB2, say). So, is there a good back up utility that I can use for my Mac OS X. ( i don't want to burn my 100G hard drive on 50 dvds every week )

There are various solutions for both items. Smart Folders coupled with an Automator action or a Folder Action can be used to mirror folder contents. You can also sync contents using various backup or sync software such as Deja Vu, Synchronize! Pro X, Super Duper, Retrospect, or one of dozens of other similar utilities. They can be found at www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com. These utilities can be used both for individual folder syncing as well as complete backup solutions. Some will work only on connected drives and others will also work across network drives.
If you can't find a satisfactory solution for OS X you just haven't looked hard enough because there are literally dozens of alternative solutions available including Unix commands that run from the command line such as rsync, psync, and ditto. Use the Terminal (Utilities folder) and explore the man pages for these commands to learn their usage. There are also freeware GUI wrappers for rsync and psync - RSyncX and PSyncX.

Need Help with boot camp install, keep getting message can not install need

Hi Folks,
I keep getting a message that the boot camp assistant can not install needs firmware update. All updates are currently installed. I have tried all available updates and hey ell me the computer doesn't need them????
Any help that you may provide is greatly appreciated.

You do not have the firmware update installed. You only have the SMC firmware update. Boot Camp requires this firmware update.

I hope they were not completely wiped during the uninstall - but only your programmers know how the UN-install function works and whether or not residual files are left on the computer.

I seem to have had my CS6 locked out by a copy of CC that I did not request. can you help to resolve it so I get my CS6 back please

A month ago I started getting messages when I opened CS6 asking me to continue a trial of Photoshop CC I had not requested this. It seems that it may have come down via an update.
Today I cannot open CS6 and get the message from CC to buy the product which I do not want.
Is there any way of getting back to my installation of CS6.

Paul cb. I get the same error message (9), which relates to an apparent dropping of the USB connection. I have now tried 3 different usb cables on 2 different mac's, same result.
Reading as much as I can understand, there appears to be a dependance on an SHSH signature file. I have never Jailbroken any of my apple hardware, but there is much information that can be gleaned from the associated writings.
I am not a genius my any means, but it appears as though (iMhO) that somehow the files (or some of them) on the iPad have become corrupted and the all important SHSH file is not there. This causes iTunes to have no reference point for restoring the iPad. Also, it is not possible to force a new firmware (Option click restore in itunes) without an SHSH file, this results in an error that says that the iPad is not eligible for this version ... or something like that.
MY problem is that in Dubai we do not have an Apple Genius bar and that you guys and gals are the closest I will get to an Apple Genius. The iPad was purchased for me in the States when my daughter was visting there so, I am pretty much sitting on a brick right now ... (my wife has annexed my iPad 2 until I can fix her iPad 1 .... sighs).
Unless there are any other tactics that you guys can suggest (without Jailbreaking) then I think I may be at the end of the road ..
