Help!! Unlocking iphone 4 but itunes does not recognise my sim
SSomeone help before I go mad!! Got an iphone 4 that is sim locked to Tesco/O2 mobile. I contacted Tesco to get it unlocked and they eventually sent me an email to unlock the phone (This is after I waited 8 days and I contacted them to find out they put "gotmail.com" not "hotmail.com" don't ask!) The email says to put in any sim apart from a Tesco and O2 one, so I put a Three sim in then connected to ITunes. For some reason though it comes up that "it is not recognised as a supported activation sim" ???? Anyone have any ideas?? I contacted Tesco and they have no idea and told me to ring back tomorrow....
Mines doing the same thing but when i try to open the phone in itunes it just says we could not complete your itunes store request.

Gotcha,
If you have an iCloud account you might want to consider syncing that way so you won't have to use cables but that is certainly up to you.
Try:
1.) Backup all your data:
Backup your iOS device: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Backup your computer Addressbook: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
Backup iCal: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
2.) Reset the computer's sync services and then restart the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
3.) Plug in the iOS device and attempt a sync.
--- Check the Info tab in iTunes to make sure calendars are still set to sync.
If that does not resolve the issue let me know and I'll give you a different route. -
I have not been able to sync my iPhone 5s on my PC sincethe most recent update to iTunes. My computer showsthe iPhone as connected, but iTunes does not recognize it. I tried the trouble shooter and got device not recognized. I clicked the help button beside the failed test and get iPod instructions. How do I get iPod instructions for work for an iPhone? Better, how can I get this to show iPhone instructions? (On my other computer, I had to uninstall every Apple product to get the new iTunes to work.)

I've just bought an iPad 2 from the USA and my iTunes doesn't recognise it, so I can't register it and get started. iTunes works fine and recognises my 2 IPhone 4s. Any ideas how to overcome this ??

Try resetting it: unplug it and then hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time (nothing will be lost) until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen comes back up, see what it says your battery percentage is. Then try plugging it back in to see if it will continue to charge it up. It shouldn't take more than an hour to charge to 100% if you are charging via a wall socket.
Just to make sure - you are using the adaptor that came with the iPad, correct? Just checking....

Songs Located on iPhone but iTunes does not display it.
This is a really weird situation.
I tried to sync Smodcast episodes on my iPhone with iTunes. They wouldn't transfer over so I went into the iTunes folder manually found the files of the podcasts and added them to my library as music files. I then synced them to my iPhone and left for work. When I got to work I went to go play the podcast and wasn't showing up on my iPhone and was the only audio I had on my phone. I checked my storage space and says there is audio on my phone and it's taking up space.
I went home that night annoyed and tried plugging in my phone into my Alpine headunit. I searched for music on it and sure enough I was able to select the podcasts as audio music rather than an actual podcast. I plugged the phone into the computer when I got home and iTunes was saying there was no music on my phone but checking the capacity used/free also displayed there was audio on the phone.
How can I delete this audio without restoring the phone?Just found the following info regarding non installation of iphone driver, do you know how I can get the correct driver reinstalled or updated

Win 8.1 recognizes Iphone - but Itunes does not

I have the apple mobile device service running, tried restarting the service, and still it won't come up in itunes, even though I can see the iphone device in windows explorer as a storage device.
Tried restarting the iphone, the pc, the software.
Thanks for any suggestions on how to get it back in service.Same issue with an iPhone 5s and Win 8.1. Here's a fix that worked for me.
- Completely uninstall iTunes and all Apple services (Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, etc.)
- Re-install iTunes
- Connect your device, and Trust the computer

Itunes does not recognise ipod touch
i've reinstalled the latest version of itunes plus ios 6 and followed the troubleshooting sections for Windows 7 PC but itunes does not recognise the ipod touch. the USB cable is ok (charges the ipod anyway) but when I run diagnostics it does not see an ipod.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

I just downloaded iTunes 9 and i do not want to upgrade any further, so when i plug in my iPhone iPhoto recognizes it as a iPhone/camera but iTunes does not recognize it. any help would be appreciated.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
Itunes does not recognise ipad or iphone after window 8.1 patch May 2014
Last week my laptop did a patch update to windows 8.1 and now Itunes does not recognise my ipad or iphone when i plug them into the USB ports.
The devices do ask "to trust the computer" and Windows itself reconises the ipad and iphone and i can get to files on the apple products through windows but itunes doesnt see them and therefore doesnt sync therefore i cant download music onto my phone etc.
Ps i did uninstall itunes and reinstalled but this didnt work. Although after reading about other people with similar issues on past window updates I think I may need to uninstall all apple software .
I have an old Ipod 5G that works fine with Itunes.
Anybody with similar issues and a plan to get this sorted ?...... as i need music on my phone for holiday !!Hello andyv,
