Help updating Adobe ?

I tried to update Adobe, but it asked about Mac ? & I don't want MacAffee Security or have a Mac computer, so is that what it meant ? I wasn't sure what to do ? So when the Steps came up it wouldn't work ?  What do I do ? You can tell, I don't know the computer very much.

    You can uninstall Acrobat, run the cleaner tool then re-install or you download the updates manually from the adobe web site.

    I could not find Acrobat 9 updates on the Adobe web site. You can find the updates on the adobe ftp file.

    Is there anything else beside the number 2203?
    Try removing the current Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, then install 11.0.07 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

    am trying to update adobe reader 9.4.6 to the latest version on my mac book pro. Am able to download the updtae to 10. whatever and proceed with installation. At the step where I am asked to choose the adobe reader file, I select the file and then the process stops and I get a message that installation has failed and i am to contact the software manufacturer.

    I think that means your Flash player is installed and working. But why not on popular sites? Hmmm... to see whether an add-on is at fault, you could try Firefox's Safe Mode.
    First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
    Next, close Firefox, hold the Shift key, and restart Firefox in
    [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode]. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.
    Does YouTube work in Safe Mode? If so, a conflicting add-on is the most likely culprit.

    Sorry, I couldn't decide whether to start a new topic or not. The Subject is generic enough to cover my problem, so I piggybacked onto the original post.
    I'm trying to update Adobe Help (CS6) on OS X. Content downloads, but then the progress bar just runs forever (It's been an hour so far.) as the app "extracts and integrates" the help documents. It's hard to tell what exactly Help is doing, since the progress bar either runs or doesn't...ie., it doesn't actually show progress. Help hasn't hung/frozen, but what, if anything, it's doing is beyond me. If I quit Help, the next time I start it, it shows the same docs "pending integration".

    Hello,
    I e.g. go to «Support Center for Photoshop» from the menu within the app. Adobe Community Help starts up and tells me theres new content, do I want to download that. It seems to start the dl just fine, then reports an error «16882» (if I'm remembering it right).
    Why? We have very fast very broadband internet connection and I use a 2011 27" iMac with max Gig RAM installed.
    Any hints there would be appreciated.

    Seems Adobe Air or Cummunity help has gone cprrupt. Lets follow the below suggestions:
    Step 1: Uninstall adobe air from Utilities and re-install the latest adobe AIR from "http://get.adobe.com/air/otherversions/"
    Step 2: Follow "http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/842/cpsid_84215.html" and re-install the Community Help Air application.
    Step 3: Restart the machine and launch adobe Community Help and try to install all the updates and check if it works fine.

    Answers in this forum have shown different things have worked for different people.
    For some clearing YouTube cookies and the cache solved the problem. For details of how to do that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Deleting+cookies and https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache
    Others had to go a step further after deleting YouTube cookies and block YouTube from saving cookies. In the Tools menu select Options to open the Options window. Go to the Privacy panel and make sure it is set to "Use custom setting for history". Click the Exceptions button, type in http://www.youtube.com and click on Block
    Another option is to disable hardware acceleration for Flash. To do that right-click on a Flash video, select Settings, go to the first tab of the settings for the option to enable/disable hardware acceleration for Flash.     Ok, let's clarify a few things....
    Updating Adobe Reader should work; do you get any errors when trying to update?
    You write that you have Reader 11.0; is that 11.0.0?  If so, you should update to 11.0.5 in two steps:
    download and run the 11.0.4 installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.04/en_US/AdbeRdr11004_en_US.exe
    download and run the 11.0.5 patch http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.05/misc/AdbeRdrSecUpd11005.msp
    Now to your PDF files you cannot read.  You downloaded the files from the Thunderbird email attachments to your local disk.  When you double-click on these saved files, do you still get an error message?
    Regarding the $39: Adobe does not provide free support for their free products, but these forums act as a free support channel, mostly by fellow users, and sometimes Adobe staff.

  • AAM 6.2 All - Download Error (U44M1I216) updating Adobe CSXS Infrastructure CS6

      I'm a CS6 Cloud subscriber running Win7 32-bit and have been having the general 'Download Error/Update Failed' issue with AAM since 12/15/2012.  I spent a couple of hours on the Live Chat line with an Adobe support person during which I downloaded and used the Cleaner; downloaded and installed the AAM 6.2 All package but continued to have the same issue 'Download Error/Update Filed' since.
      I believe that I made progress this morning after reading a post on the boards from a direct licensed user with a different AAM issue.  I used the Help/Update function of one of my CS applications which brought up an instance of AAM which, unlike the 'normal' System Tray version of AAM, didn't immediately go to the 'Download Error/Update Failed' state.  This instance of AAM presents both an About and Preferences buttons.  I pressed the Preferences button and this next screen showed the list of my applications and had both a Cancel and OK buttons.
      When I pressed the OK button, I got to another screen with the list of my applications and About, Preferences and Update buttons.  In addition to the list of my applications, each application had both a checkbox and an list expose button.  When I pressed the list expose button for each of my applications, I got a complete list of the updates - at the 'package/version level - that AAM 6.2 ALL was attempting to install on my machine in order to maintain all of my applications.
      I used that list to go to the Updates page on Adobe to find each of the listed package/version combo's that were listed by AAM 6.2:

      I downloaded and installed each of those update packages, one by one, and wittled down the list of packages that AAM sensed as needing to be updated down to just the 'Adobe CSXS Infrastructure CS6' package - needed by both Photoshop and Prelude.
      I used the CSXS Infrastructure CS6 install log file - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers - to confirm that the installation of the specific version that I had found was successful and it was:

      I assume that there must be a later update to the Adobe CSXS Infrastructure CS6 package that isn't yet posted on the general Update site for direct down load.  When I try to use the application specific instance of AAM to do the update of both Photoshop and Prelude with the version of CSXS that it senses is needed, I get the U44M1I216 error code in the AAM log.
      Does anyone know if there is a later version of CSXS that is being called for?  If so, do you have a link to where on the update site I can download it for direct update?
