Help uploading videos/movies to iTunes

I'm not sure exactly how to add my own movies to my iTunes library so that I can put them on my iPod. I watched the video on the help page, but it just touches mainly on adding music...please help, I really want to add my POTC2 movie on it!
Is there a program that I have to convert the movies into in order to upload to my library?

le sigh...as in the program must have some sort of vendetta against me lol..
I open the program, click the transcode video button, select the wmv or mpeg file, then 2 secs pass and all the program does is create an avs file (avisynth file)...so I read in a post on another site to try and convert the avs file...I click the transcode button, select the avs file, and then after 2 secs no conversion file is made...I have checked the appropriate output folder and sadly nothing...
I have been battling with my dilema for about three days now...you are the first person actually trying to help me so thanks a bunch!

  • Problem Uploading Converted Movie to Itunes

I have a 30gig Ipod Video, and I downloaded a movie from 360Download,and I then used cucusoft.com to convert it, Now the converted movie is in a folder and I looked on the website of cucucsoft to look for the instructions to then upload the movie into Itunes. But everytime I try to drag the movie file or "add file to library" in Itunes....Nothing happens,I look back into my library and I do not see the movie.
    Can anyone help me?

The majority of conversion problems posted here are
    tied to videora.
Audio/video sync problems, won't go onto ipod even
though it says it is the correct format, or sound
drops out after a few minutes.
    That is bad, buggy software.
People keep pushing the software, suggesting it for
    every person posting.
Since it is buggy and so many people have problems
with it and I do not want to keep seeing repeated
questions about why videora messed up-I tell people
    to avoid it.
I use to just tell them to google search, try several
different ones and pick what they like.
Now I just push mpeg streamclip to counteract
    everyone else pushing videora.
I do this because I care.
I ended up searching thru some of your posts, and I got the url for the actual site, and I have no downloaded square5, BUT NOW....when I try to convert the movie using this format....Its telling me "FILE OPEN ERROR:SUPPORTED FILE TYPE"
Help Me...what am I doing wrong or is it just the movie I am trying to convert?....

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this atwww.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

  • Question about uploading videos/movies

    hi guys and gals
i just recently bought a 30GB ipod video for my little cousin and he asked me a question that i do not have an answer to.
he knows how to upload music from his itunes to his ipod (drag music into the ipod icon) but he can't figure out how to upload movies/videos.
i know that the format of the video has to be quicktime or something that is compatible with mac. he uses windows and i believe his videos are AVI or some weird nonesense.
can you please, in easy steps, tell me how to upload videos into the ipod? thanks!

Upload videos same way you do songs-just drag them over if you haven't enabled autoupdate.
Videos have to be in a specific format, found under iPod tech specs on apple website.
    Here:
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats

  • Need help fixing video playback on iTunes and worried it will affect iphone

First of all, the black levels when playing videos on iTunes looked terrible.
I looked all over on how to fix this..
So then I installed the lastest nvidia graphics drivers to help with video playback
After install my videos black level was definatly better, I think.
But now all videos play wierdly in the corner of the itunes program..

I need help to fix this and I hope this dont affect playback on iphone 4

If exporting to i4 results in the same, there could be a problem with the movie itself. Try exporting to the i4 and replay the video. However if exporting to i4 plays okay on the phone, it's your Nvidia drivers. You can download the prior Nvidia drivers and downgrade.
There have been dozens of cases where Nvidia drivers even the newest ones have made a mess of games, movie playbacks, even viewing Windows programs.

  • Uploading Videos/Movies

How do I upload UNpurchased videos or movies to iTunes? Can I use Windows Media Player to rip movies or videos I already own? If so, how do I do this? If this isn't possible and I have to purchase some kind of other program, which is best? Thanks in advance!

  • I need help uploading my podcast to iTunes

    Hello guys,
First of all, I not very tech savvy so please bare with me.
I've been trying to upload my podcast to iTunes but I get this error:
Podcast cover art must be at least 1400 X 1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.
My images are 1400 x 1400 in JPG, but still, I can't upload them.
My podcast feed URL is: http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:23141041/sounds.rss
I'd appreciate any help I can get, since I have a deadline to upload it.
    Thanks

Go with a better podcast host.  One that is 100% iTunes compliant like Libsyn.
Here is a tutorial about podcasting:
    http://traffic.libsyn.com/lilith/podcast101_140311c.pdf
Chapter 7 goes over creating a libsyn account, setting up your RSS feed and uploading your first episode.
Chapter 10 goes over submitting your RSS feed to iTunes and Stitcher.
Let me know if you have any questions.
    Regards,
    Rob W

  • How to move *MY* uploaded videos between different itunes - not sync

I've uploaded a number of videos I own and/or created to iTunes, so they appear as movies under my iTunes library. I've also successfully moved my iTunes library to a number of different macs I have using the kb articles.
Now what I need to do is move SOME, not all, of the videos, to another system and another exsiting and robust iTunes library. I don't want to move the entire iTunes library, my music, or photos, and I don't want to move all the movies or videos - just a couple of them.
Is there an EASY way to do this that does not involved wiping out an entire existing iTunes library???? and then trying to merge the old one back with the new one?
Ideally, I would like to shove them onto stick and move them via USB.....
    Thank you in advance.

In iTunes, select the items then drag them from the iTunes window to the USB stick on the desktop.
Plug it into the other computer then File > Add to library and select the USB stick.

  • Takes 2hrs to share Home Video movie with iTunes

Ever since I upgraded to iMovie 11 it takes hrs to share with iTunes & theater. When done the music added to video's is scratchy. Pics are ok. I've been told I need more RAM. Also been told I need a bigger processor. I'm thinking a new IMac. Help!!!

Your post said "free" and there isn't any free software that will convert MPEG-2 files to other formats. Well, Handbrake does "rip" DVD's and convert but I wouldn't use it.
After you realize that you'll need to spend money for the needed software then you'll start the conversion on your older machine. It will take a very long time (I did similar years ago on my G3 400 and it took 44 hours).
The converted .mov file was about 450MB's at half of the dimensions of the DVD version. Quality was good and the file played just fine in QuickTime Player.
You then have to find a way to share the file over the Internet. That will involve you uploading it and your friend download it. More time that you said you didn't have.
Mail seems like the best method and will actually save you time.

Yes I did, several times. I unchecked the items in Directx one at a time until they were all gone. I even went out and bought a Gig of RAM thinking maybe that was a problem...I now have 1280 and no improvement. I called and emailed ITunes tech support--they said there was an issue last night with downloads that is corrected now. I purchased the TV show again, and have the same problem. Getting frustrated...

Eric, this link from Jamie314 will get you started. If you want further help, use the search window in the upper right corner as there are probably 5-6 active threads in this forum right now on how to rip DVD's.

  • I want to move just my movies from iTunes to an external hard drive but not my music

i have a fairly large movie/TV collection in iTunes.  i don't need these most of the time so i want to move them to an external hard drive.  however, i want to keep my music & podcasts in the current internal hard drive.
is this possible?  if so, how?
i've looked at this page & the video that details how to move the entire iTunes library but they do not address my specific issue.
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
    http://www.cnet.com/videos/move-your-itunes-library-to-an-external-drive-5010991 0/

If you have one library, the movies are on another drive and you don't have the external running all the time you will have annoying !=broken link for all your movies until you turn on the drive and restart iTunes.  For things you do not want to have to see on a daily basis the best solution is to make a separate library and keep the whole movie library, media and library files, on the external drive.  The drive then does not have to be turned on all the time.
Make a new library by starting iTunes while holding down the option/alt key.
If you want to do it all in one library, to move some items:
    Sept. 2010, Consolidate selected content - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2589812 and April 2014, https://discussions.apple.com/message/25414357#25414357
Note, any purchases you make will still automatically go to the media folder specified in the preferences for that library so you will have to relocate files after each purchase.
A slightly neater method than that recommended by bodyxs is to move the file but re-add them by holding down the option key while dragging them to iTunes.  That should leave them in the current (the copy on the external) location, overriding iTunes wanting to copy them to the media folder.
