Help viewer not working

When I type in a help topic nothing happens. Also, when I go to the home page it nothing happens when I click the links. This is really annoying becuase I want to ask a question and I can't get the help viewer to work.

Sorry for the somewhat terse reply from others to this question, not exactly the way to welcome new Mac users to this forum methinks! The way the forum works changed some time ago and I have to say that although I have used this forum on and off almost since its inception the current iteration is far from intuitive. When you start typing your question, possible previously answered similar questions start appearing below your typing if any of those match your query just click on the thread and it will take you there, hitting enter will post your question, whereas on most forums that would simply initiate a search for answers to your question. I'm sure there is a guide to using the forum, but really it should be more intuitive. Anyway welcome to the world of Macs!!

Hi
I dont think that a field can be disabled and allows to choose data using f4 simultaneously. you can enable the field and allow the user to select whatever he/she wants.
Then in any action like on press of save or submit button which the user will trigger after entering the values, get the value entered by the user in that perticular field and fire a query on the table/view, which you have used as selection method of your search help, it help is coming from data element then look for check table in domain. if sy-subrc comes 0 than go ahead else give error that value selected is modified.

Order by in MATERIALIZED VIEW not work successfully with first column (ID)

I am trying to create a Materialized View as below:

where rownum < 5000 order by employee_id desc ;But while querying the MATERIALIZED VIEW, it did not work successfully as the data did not appear in the accurate order.
I tried to create the same MATERIALIZED VIEW but order by another column (Column Date), it worked successfully and the data appeared in the accurate order.
It means that MATERIALIZED VIEW not work successfully with the first column (id).
Can you please help me in this ?

A few pointers :
1. As has been pointed out, the ROWNUM has been incorrectly placed. ROWNUM values are assigned as rows are fetched from the source before the ORDER BY. You need to ORDER BY first (in a SubQuery) and then ROWNUM afterwards (outside the SubQuery).
2. I wonder why you want only the last 5000 EMPLOYEE_IDs. What if Employee_ID 1 is still an active employee (he is the founder, first employee and CEO ?). There could be very many "low" EMPLOYEE_IDs that are still active.
3. Logically I would expect some filter other than the ROWNUM ... ORDER BY to be used to select candidate rows. Then, an ORDER BY in the CREATE query would be unnecessary.
4. When querying the Materialized View you must explicitly ORDER BY (irrespective of whether you did or did not do an ORDER BY in the CREATE ...)
5. How do you expect to refresh the MV ? Will it always be a COMPLETE Refresh ? Remember that your "5000 employees" filter would likely exclude older employees at the next refresh. If you use some other filter, it should be consistent across all refreshs.

Same problem. Am using Firefox 24 (W7x64).
I've tried setting it to use the built-in PDF viewer, to always asking, to using Adobe plugin, to using Nitro plugin.
I changed the pdfjs.disabled in about:config to true but that didn't help.
The plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types was set to

What version of Lomboz are you using? J2EE View was available in Lomboz 2.x releases and is not found in later releases. These olde versions used a lightweight JSP editor based on jasper. Your message looks like it is related to that.
I would recommend upgrading to one of the later releases such as 3.3, which can be found at:

10.4.4 Mac Help does not work

I just upgraded 10.4.3 to 10.4.4. Now Tiger Mac help does not work. Other software help does work, at least those I have checked like Word, Safari, and a few others I have checked. But in the Finder going to help in the Menu bar does brings up the help window, but try to click a link like What's new in Tiger or typing a query into the search window produces nothing. All the software seems to be working fine, at least what I have checked. I have redownloaded and re-installed making sure virus software is off to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.

I tried the steps mentioned before, and thought I would give them one more try. Initially, I had success in that the Help Viewer opened to the default Mac Help view, and when I typed in a find term, lo & behold a list of results appeared! Alas, my visions of success vanished when I clicked on one of the results, then View.....nothing happened!
I returned to the main menu, and found none of the links would work, and neither would the search function!
It appears a link may work the first time, but none after that.
I also noticed that (repeating the Cache & Preference removal steps) that they repopulated with the files when Mac Help was initiated, and, as before, would allow one link acivation to occur, but none after.
I suspect there may be a conflict with some other applications Help feature, but made sure to activate ONLY the Mac Help with no other Application having been run after restart. The only other possiblity is that some toolbar non-Mac OS X help apps like Magic Menu, Quicken, & iPod conflict, but these are all I have!
If any one having this Help Viewer problem has similar installations, or knows of any conflicts with these; or, how I can temporarily disable/remove the associated help without uninstalling them, please post a reply.

I have jh.jar file in my classpath. And it is working fine.
Now I shifted from jdk1.3 to jdk 1.4.2 and help is not working now.
Can anybody give me solution of this?

Help Viewer not coming up.

"Mac help" will not hold. It blinks on for a short moment and disappears. (This may have started happening after I downloaded an update of Adobe. Adobe seems to have taken over my computer, and I am not sure what that is all about. And am not sure it has anything connection to the problem.)
From researching on this site I get the idea that the problem could be corrected it I moved to a higher 10 level (I'm at 10.2), but I did that once before and found out my speech recognition program was not compatible, so have come back to the 10.2. The "Help viewer" has worked fine for four years.
Any suggestions?

Yes if your speech recognition app is not compatible there's not much that can be done about upgrading. Your help should work on Jaguar. It might be time to repair permissions or do a verify/repair disk. If Help Viewer is not working for any app then it must be something with it. Try posting in Mac OS X v10.3 Panther & earlier as you will probably get more assistance there for your problem.

PSE 10 and Adobe CS6: When running silent install help is not working afterwards

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum. If not: Please help me find the correct one.
I have a big issue with Adobe CS6 (and former versions like Photoshop Elements 10): When installing it from DVD running GUI everything is working fine afterwards. If I install e.g. Photoshop Elements 10 using "Silent Installation" help is not working afterwards. It states that it cannot locate the URL. I have not installed AIR and also do not plan to install it.
I have 'played' a little around with Common Files\Adobe\helpcfg and help directory. Now at least I do not get an error message but still it's not the online help which opens in the browser but the web page that is defined as 'home'.
The same I see now in Adobe CS6. I have e.g. packaged After Effects and Illustrator and when deploying it I'm not able to open help as well and I fear that this is the same issue.
Has anyone deeper knowledge about how "helpcfg" is working? Any example files? Any other help appreciated as well.

@hannilator Have you checked the exceptions folder contents for instructions on how to push to logged off computers? Here's what I get when I package CS6 (DesignWebPrem) and excude AIR/CHC:
After you have deployed the package, separately install the products in the exception folder.
IMPORTANT: Before you install the products in the exception folder, refer to the following Adobe Knowledgebase article for information on installing these products and configuring the settings correctly:

WBS element field in transaction CS71-F4 help is not working in ECC 6.0

In SAP, while working in SAP 4.7, tcode cs71, WBS element is coming via F4 Help. But after upgradation to ECC 6.0 EHP 5, this F4 help is not working. I can enter value manually.but F4 help is not working.

You can do it manually too
1. Choose function group 'CSDI' via Transaction SE80.
2. Choose screen '0260'in the 'Screens' area and switch to change mode
3. Choose the 'Element list' tab index.
4. In this area, choose the 'Reference' tab index and enter the value
    'PRP' in the 'Search help' column in the line for field
    'RC29N-PSPNR'.
5. Save your change and regenerate the screen.
6. The correct input help for the WBS element is now available in the
    initial screen of Transaction CS71/72/73.
I hope F4 helps works for "Existing WBS BOM's" in CS71 after this

Hi,
This might be due to the JRE version of the browser. We faced such issue and the update of JRE version in the browser helps to get the pop-up of F4 help. Check in the internet broswser Tools -> Internet Option -> Advanced. Check whether the JRE applet is checked or not. it has to be checked. if it is checked and even if you dont get the F4 help, upgrade the JRE version.

No matter what I choose in the tree it always closes, no help is displayed and SAP GUI returns in the main screen in transaction SE80.

SAP PC VERSION INFORMATION: saplogon.exe
MAIN MODULE INFORMATION:
   saplogon.exe
   SAP Logon за Windows

SYSTEM INFORMATION:
   Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP 5.1 (2600) Service Pack 3
   Internet Explorer v. 7.0
Application help works perfect - I checked the configuration in transaction SR13 too.
Any ideas will be appreciated!

As it is seen from my previous post SAP GUI version is 7.10 SP 12. I downloaded the last SP 13 and installed it. Now SAP GUI information looks like this:
SAP PC VERSION INFORMATION: saplogon.exe
MAIN MODULE INFORMATION:
   saplogon.exe
   SAP Logon за Windows
   Final Release 710
   7100.3.13.1045
   1063164
The problem is not resolved.
This happens from different workstations with different versions and sub-versions of SAP GUI, so the problem is not caused from the GUI I think. It happens using different logon users and in all SAP system cliens.
Any other suggestions?
