Help w adobe reader

i have downloaded the free adobe reader for my ipad but when i go to "open documents" it always redirects to open documents in GoDaddy and sends me to that website. can anyone help with this issue? according to directions i thought documents should open in adobe reader....thanks for any  help gfw1213

It sounds like you have a "GoDaddy" application installed that handles multiple file types (perhaps to upload to your hosting provider). Do you see another option besides "Open in Go Daddy"? When I tap and hold, I see "Quick Look", "Open in iBooks", and "Open In...". This last "Open in..." gives me the option to "Open in" Adobe Reader.
Also, please confirm that you are trying to open a PDF file. The Adobe Reader does not support opening other file types and won't be presented as an option for anything but PDF.
Thanks!

  • Help!  Adobe Reader 9 won't open a PDF in a browser window!

I just "upgraded" to Adobe Reader 9 today, on my Windows XP computer.
I run Firefox 3.0.8 as my web browser.
Since installing AR 9, I cannot open PDFs inside my browser.  When I try, I get the following error message:
"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running cannot be used to view PDFs in a Web Browser.  Please exit Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have made sure my Application settings in Firefox are correct, associating PDFs with AR9.
I made sure "Display PDF in browser" is checked in AR9.
I need to be able to open PDFs in my browser for work. How do I fix this error?
    Thank you,
    Ben

No Solution here either, but I'm experiencing similar problems. When opening pdf's my system just hangs and I'm having to reboot. This is not helping me with my business at all.
I suppose it's just part and parcel of upgrading these days. Good luck with trying to down grade. I've just tried and there's more frustration than success. Oh well, I do have a 4 day weekend to get it going again.
    Best of luck to you,

  • Need help with Adobe Reader 11.0.0.8 and Group Policy Objects

I am trying to deploy Adobe Reader 11.0.0.8 using Adobe Reader.
I am using the AcroRead.msi I found in
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Setup Files\{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-AB0000000001}
    HOWEVER
Instead of installing 11.0.0.8 it installs 11.0.0.0
I have not had anyone complain about it asking for an update. But I'm sure it's only a matter of time. (I know about the customization which could prevent the updates, but I can't figure out how to get the correct version installed is the issue not the updates).
So if I run the Setup.exe it ends up installing 11.0.0.8 but AcroRead.msi I think only installs 11.0.0.0
Obviously you can't give a GPO an .exe so it's a closed loop. You can't use an .exe to install the proper version. And you can't install the proper version because you can't use an .exe
You can only use the .msi which apparently only does 11.0.0.0
I've been trying this that, have done jumping jacks and back flips trying to fix this (tried different versions, different approaches to this, nothing seems to work)
Need some help. THIS IS WAYYYYYYY WAYYYYYYYYYYY Overcomplicated btw, shouldn't be this complicated for something so mundane.

A couple of approaches and all involve a bit of work.
    Three steps:
Do the install of the 11.0.0 MSI at the command line
Then follow it with the 11.0.07 Updater MSP at the command line
Finally the 11.0.08 Security Patch MSP at the command line.
    AIP
Create the AIP from the three files above then then run the MSI from the command line.

  • Need help with Adobe Reader 9

About three weeks ago my computer started acting crazy so I tried to run updates but I could not get on the internet because the comcast guy told me that it was my firewall. So I disabled my firewall and put on windows firewall and was able to do my updates, but then my antivirus quit working so then I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall but I could not. So I got mad and tried to restore to my last restore point but it would not let me, so when I went to run check disk Windows popped up and said it could not perform this action because the disk was busy.So I then called my friend whorepairs computers and he came over and ran combofix and installed a new antivirus. Combofix said nothing was wrong, but I still can't do system restore or checkdiscso I ran MalwareBytes and it comes up with nothing. So now all of a sudden Windows is telling me that Adobe reader 9 is corrupt and unreadable. Everytime I try to uninstall it, it won't let me. Everytime I try to install a newer version I can't because a pop up comes up and says I alredy have the file, but I can't use it to read my PDFs for class. Adobe reader 9 is messing my computer up and I need help removing it?

Hello, this is me again. I ran Windows install utility cleanup and basically uninstalled all Adobe files, but when I was done I went into the program files on C drive to delete Adobe file and it gave me an error that said: An unexpected error is preventing the operation.Make a note of this error code, which might be useful if you get additional help to resolve this problem.Error 0x80070091: The directory is not empty. And I still cannot run check disc because it tells me that the disk is busy.

  • I need help with Adobe Reader X......

I'm not sure what is going on, but for a while now (seems like the last two updates to Reader) my Adobe Reader is acting nuts......!!
First of all, I can not seem to get it to work.  When I pull up a .pdf file, I can see the file but then when I try to scroll through the various pages I then get an error message that states something about a memory not being able to be read.
Second of all, if and when I can get a file to eventually stay up on the screen, I can not print it.  I get another error message stating the there are no pages selected.  What.......?  This doesn't make sense.  Oh, and I tried the "click on advanced and the image thing."  Nothing.
What's up with Adobe?  Do they realize that hundreds of thousands of us are having troubles out here?  Do they really want this product to be downloaded on people's computers?  The new version of Reader doesn't work and is crap.........
I couldn't even see and print my Federal Income Tax Return this year because Reader wouldn't let me.
I would add images, but when I attempt to do so I get an error message stating that "an unexpected error has occurred."  Do you think?
I tried the "repair" function off of the 'help' button and the control panel as suggested in the webpage, NOTHING.......  So many governments, companies, and entities using pdf files for their communications and an idividual can not open them, print them, read them, or use them.  What's wrong with this picture?
Is there anyone out there that can help me get my Reader to work?  Am I the only one having troubles?  Please HELP......!!

    Moved to Adobe Reader.
You cannot able to open pdf files on your computer or you cannot open pdf files in your webbrowser? If you cannot open pdfs in your browser, what browser are you using?

Thanks but I have figured it out. I was stuck on "install adobe reader wants to make changes. type in password to allow this". I ran across an old password, used it, and got in. • Need help installing Adobe Reader 11

Adobe Reader will not update. I have tried following multiple forum help suggestions. I have received errors 1302, 1310, and one other. Usually get error 1310.  I am running Windows 7 Professional. The downloader will download the files , attempt to install them , gets to 97%-100% completed , then fails.  I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling. I have tried using the cleaner to remove all traces of Adobe files. I have tried fixing permissions. I have tried ensuring we are installing as admin. I have disabled Mcaffee Antivirus to install. I have tried installing adobe X (10) - which succeeded installing btw, and upgrading from there. In that case , the update immediately fails. I have gone into my folders to make sure admin has full access to the folder. I have tried downloading and installing multiple times as another post suggested.  I do not know what else to do. I can use Adobe X to view my docs but I want to stay up to date security wise. Please help !!!!

Have you tried the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ ?
If that also does not help, please give us the full 1310 message.

  • Need help with Adobe Reader App on ipad

Hi, I downloaded the adobe reader app on my ipad recently and saved lots of documents in it under the “Document” tab. I do my backup on iTune regularly. But I am unsure if all my documents in that app will be backup in my iTune. What worries me is that next time when I buy a new ipad, I cannot transfer the documents over. Any help? Or do I have to painstakingly upload them to Acrobat.com? Is that a storage limit for Acrobat.com? Thank you!

    Hi Sophieberry,
You can back up your all document via iTunes. Tethered your device with your Desktop/Mac and open up iTunes. Select your device from the left hand window, and go to the apps screen , scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and then select Adobe Reader from the list. Now select all the document and tap on Save to option and enter the location where you want to save the PDF. Hope this will solve your problem of back up.
However, you can back up your file to Acrobat.com and storage limit for this is 2GB.
    Thanks

  • Need help with Adobe Reader XI

I am using Windows 7, IE10, and Adobe reader XI.  I can not currently open and view bank card statements, but can view all other statements on the same sight. It has to be one of my settings because when opened on my Ipad everything works fine. Can anyone help?

    According to Microsoft:
Here are a few methods you can try out.
    Method 1: Disable Add-Ons
    c) Click the ‘Tools’ button, and then click ‘Manage add-ons’.
    d) Disable the add-ons by clicking them one at a time to highlight them and then click on disable button.
    e) Re-enable the add-ons one by one and check with which Add-on you get this error message.
    f) Disable the Add-on causing the problem.
Method 2: Reset security settings for Internet Explorer
If you configure security settings to be too restrictive, you may prevent Internet Explorer from displaying certain Web sites. To determine whether an issue is caused by overly restrictive security settings, revert to default security settings. To do this, follow these steps:
    a.     Open Internet Explorer.
    b.     Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
    c.      Click the Security tab.
    d.     Click Reset all zones to default level, and then click OK.
Method 3: Run the Internet explorer performance troubleshooter and check if it helps.
    a)    Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
    b)    Type troubleshooter in the search box and then press enter.
    c)    Select Troubleshooting. Click on view all and select Internet explorer performance.
    d)   Click next and follow the on-screen instructions.
Method 4: Reset Internet Explorer 10.
    a) Drag the mouse to the bottom right corner and click on search.
    b) Click on ‘Settings’ and type ‘Internet Options’.
    c) Click on Internet Options and click on ‘Advanced tab’
    d) Click ‘Reset’ and click ‘OK’.
Note: Please note that running Reset Internet Explorer Settings will reset all user-defined settings including those set by installed extensions, toolbars and other add-ons to IE Defaults. This includes all Security, Privacy and Zone settings. Also this will clear browsing history, delete all temporary Internet Files, cookies, form data and especially all stored passwords.
Method 5: uninstall the Adobe Acrobat Reader and install the latest version.
Follow the link below to download the latest version:
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/
Also, if you have multiple Adobe Readers installed, uninstall them all then install the latest version.
Adobe doesn't support multiple versions of Reader or Acrobat on the same computer. Multiple versions simultaneously installed can lead to software conflicts and errors. Uninstall all versions of Reader or Acrobat and then reinstall only one version of the product.
