Help w/ Newsletter created in Photoshop becoming pixelated when emailed

Hi all,
I created a newsletter using Adobe Photoshop. However, when I use an email client to email it out, it becomes very pixelated. I have changed the dpi and it still becomes pixelated. Currently, the newsletter is set to 100 DPi but still becomes pixelated. How would I be able to fix this? I use iContact to email the newsletter and the actual image (bc it is rather large) is hosted on Photobucket. Early thanks for the help!

Photoshop just doesn't do Newsletters very well.  Even MS Word would be better. Much better.  If you can use something like inDesign, or MS Publisher, and save as a PDF, your text will be perfect regardless of how much you zoom in, and it would produce a much smaller file size.  Plus you can have live links (hyperlinks), or hyperlink the images to larger versions (if you have somewhere to put them online.  With inDesign you can doo all sorts of wonderful things making a really impressive document that would be fun to create, and impress your readers.

  • Photos become pixelated when moved to new photo album?

If I create a new photo album and select photos from camera roll or photo stream, once moved, they become pixelated in both locations. Help?

    Did I miss something?
The Shared Photo Stream is supposed to show  the photos in the order that you add them to the stream - the newesst photos at the end of the stream. But that will not work, if you add all photos at once. I find, I get he best results by adding the photos one by one, and letting each photo upload, before I add the next one.

  • Objects in Photoshop "jump" pixels when moving

    Hello
I was wondering if someone could help me with something that is really starting to annoy me.
When I'm moving objects in Photoshop, I find that they sometimes "jump" across pixels when I'm moving them.
For example, lets say I've got an image and I've zoomed in so that each pixel is shown as a large square. The rightmost edge of the image is on column 1 (bear with me).
Each column is 1 pixel wide. So it would look like 1 2 3 etc.
The rightmost pixel of my image is on column 1, and I want to move it to the right so that it is lined up on column 2.
I move my image to the right, but it doesn't land on column 2 at all and skips it, to end up on column 3. So I move it left and it again jumps column 2 and ends up back on column 1.
    I hope this makes sense.
I've experienced this on Photoshop 7 and CS2, on 3 different computers. I used to experience something like this in Microsoft WORD during IT classes at school years ago. We had to go into a menu and uncheck something to do with grids, but I can't remember exactly what to do, and I can't find anything that looks familiar in the Photoshop menus.
I really hope this makes sense to someone, because it gets incredibly annoying when I'm trying to be precise.
Sometimes zooming in to 400/500% stops it, and everything moves smoothly, but it doesn't work all the time.
It doesn't always "jump" one pixel either. Sometimes the "jump" can be 3 or 4 pixels wide.
I would very much appreciate any help with this. Its driving me mad.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply. :)
I've just looked through all the menus, trying to find something about anti-aliasing, and I found my problem.
It was View > Snap to.
I set it to None and I have no trouble now. I'm almost certain thats the name of the menu I went to in Microsoft WORD. Can't believe I didn't see that before.
So thanks for the advice. I wouldn't have fixed this without you. :)

  • Smart objects become pixelated when re-scaled?

I have Photoshop CS5.5 running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. When I place vector objects from Illustrator and then go to re-scale them they become pixelated. I check the Anti-alias box before commiting the place, but they still pixelate when re-scaled.
Here is a screenshot to illustrate what I mean....

Are you using the move tool or Edit>Free transform to scale?
Does it make any difference if you use Edit>Free Transform with the anti-alias checked?
Also in the photoshop Edit>Preferences>General check that the Image Interpolation is set to Bicubic.

  • Pdf files become pixelated when filter effects are applied...

I have some pdf files in my Motion 4 project. When I uncheck the "fixed resolution" box, they pdf files look great. But when I proceed to add any filter effect like any of the Glow filters, the pdf file becomes all pixelated and looks horrible. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    - Nick

Filters fix the resolution, rasterizing the vector graphics. Try make it very large, the apply the filter to the containing layer and shrink the layer to be the desired size...

  • Pics become pixelated when saving from internet.

Has anyone else noticed that after the most recent iPhone software update, any picture that you save from email is pixelated? My friend took a picture with her iphone and emailed it to me. I saved it to my iphone and when I look at it in my camera roll it is pixelated.
Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

It's exactly that. It's the update. The only real advice is to wait until the next update. I'm sure several thousand complaints have been sent to Apple reguarding this. So yea, just hang in there.

  • Signature in Mail becomes oversized when emails sent.

    Hi
I have a problem with signatures in Mail.  When ever I send an email, my signature becomes dramatically oversized on the recipients client.
I have configured Mail preferences to "Always match my default message font", as shown in attached screenshot 1.
So, this is what an email look like when I am composing it - signature the same as the default font for writing messages in:
And this is what people see when they get my email:
    - a completely bloated oversized signature.
Has anybody got any ideas as to what is causing this?

  • When adding a tween, images become pixelated

I've used timline/animation in Photoshop for awhile, but just noticed, when I add tweens between two images, the original images become pixelated when I save as animated GIFs.
    Test #1
Photoshop file with two layers -- each with a photograph
Timeline: frame 1 has image from layer 1 and frame 2 has image from layer 2
Choose Save For Web and the images look pretty goodI realize that GIFs are only 256 colors
    Test #2
Create Photshop files as in Test #1
Add a tween with 1 frame
Choose Save For Web and the images look pretty good
    Test #3
Create Photshop files as in Test #1
Add a tween with more than one frame
    Choose Save For Web
    The images are now pixelated
    Trash...
All but one tween and an image is no longer pixelated, OR
All tweens and an image is no longer pixelated
In other words, Saving For Web is fine as long as I don't add any tweens. As soon as I do, the images become pixelated. Take out the tweens, the pixelation goes away. And, I have tried to make all kinds of adjustments to the GIFs.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks--Robert

    HI Jeffrey:
I can surely post some photos (screen shots from the Save As Web interface) of what I'm talking about and share the PSD file as well.
    • First image before Tween
If you carefully look at the light brown vertical paint just behind the girl's right shoulder -- no big pixelated dots. And the guy's sweatshirt looks fairly smooth in transitions from highlights to shadows.
    • Second image after adding Tweens
You'll now notice all the extra dots -- especially in the vertical brown paint job and other parts of the wall and his shirts.
And it gets worse with other images/animations I've recently created.
One thing I didn't mention is that I noticed this a few months back. This morning, I realized that's when I got rid of my old trusty 21" CRT monitor and got an LCD flat panel. I hooked up my old CRT and the dots are gone! But that doesn't resolve the issue of why when you add tweens, does it pixelate.
    Here's a link to the test.PSD file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/109581077/test.psd
Any help would sure be appreciated! And if you need me to create a video of the steps I'm doing, I can do that to.
    Thank you!
    Robert

  • My vector (flattened) images are pixellated when imported in Illustrator. How do I fix this?

    Hello.
I am experiencing an issue in Adobe Illustrator.
When attempting to import picture files in Illustrator from PhotoShop, the image appears blurred/pixellated. The image (a .psd file) is converted in Illustrator to a .ai file. I create vector (flattened) images in PhotoShop, which should maintain their picture clarity and quality regardless of what program the vectored image is opened with. Somehow, they are becoming pixellated when converted to .ai files in Illustrator.
I use both Adobe CS6 and Adobe Creative Cloud
Is there a setting or solution that I can implement to rectify this issue?
Many thanks in advance for everyone's input and assistance.

    Hello, Doug and John.
Thank you for your replies and for providing feedback.
I am aware that vector format files are only for illustrator. However, I believe you can make a smart object in photoshop using the vector art and it will keep its vector file format in photoshop allowing it to not pixelate.
I would be more interested in seeing if uninstalling and reinstalling the programs would have anything to do with it and also trying to find the settings. Would anyone happen to know if this will resolve the issue? I am hoping this is correct forum in which to post this topic/issue.
Thank you again for your help.

  • Illustrator CS4 Text & Shape logo is pixelated when placing as smart object in PS

I made a Logo in Illustrator CS4 containing text & shape. The lines are crisp and clear at 100% & 200%+. I save my file as an ai and also another version as outlined. But when I copy & paste it into Photoshop CS4 as a smart object it becomes pixelated when I zoom in more than 100%. Is there a way to fix this?
When I use to do this in CS3 it worked fine, but now it doesn't work. The Photoshop file, placed as a smart object is the one on the left at 200%. You can already tell the pixels are distorted. The one on the right side is Illustrator file at 800% and is still crisp & clean. I've saved as eps, tiff, jpeg from illustrator and when opening it in photoshop and zooming in it's pixelated....and yes AA is turned on in Illustrator and nothing happens when I view as overprint either.
First, I'd like the logo in jpeg crisp and clear when zoomed in.
Second, I'd like to resolve the smart object issue in PS. I know a smart object will hold it's quality no matter the resize of the image in PS, but I can't get it to work... Can someone offer any suggestions

What is the ppi of the Photoshop file?
And for what it's worth, any raster image will never be as crisp and clear as a vector image, smart object or otherwise. Photoshop shows raster previews even if the actual object is vector. If you zoom in on any raster iamge, you'll see pixelation.

  • Help, i am trying to print my JPEG file that i created in photoshop at a photo lab but it is coming out like an X-ray. I have printed these files before so i have no idea what i am doing wrong.

Help, i am trying to print my JPEG file that i created in photoshop at a photo lab but it is coming out like an X-ray. I have printed these files before so i have no idea what i am doing wrong.
Could it be something i have done in my settings?
or when i am saving the file to JPEG?

Basically you're approaching this the wrong way around. What you need is the extreme sections to be quieter, not louder. The problem with moving the lower end of the audio is that you'll move the noise floor too, and get what's generally referred to as a 'pumping' effect. So what you do is to use a compressor to tame the peaks, and leave the lower level sound alone. When you've done that, you amplify (or normalize to a level you can determine) the whole signal. So the noise floor will be higher, but constant and not pumping. 'Match Volume' is a completely different tool for setting the overall levels of different tracks so that they sound approximately the same - it doesn't even begin to do what you want.
If it's music you are treating, then I'd almost certainly use the multiband compressor, because you get less artefacts with this. You need to experiment with the threshold levels, and almost certainly not use a massive compression ratio - 3:1 or 4:1 should be sufficient (although it's hard to tell without actually hearing the audio). You can tell what it's doing at any given point because the downward meter indicates how hard it's working. In theory you can apply make-up gain with it as well, but personally I leave that until everything's treated and use the 'Normalize' tool to set an absolute max level.

  • Help. Photoshop CC14 on Mac 5k (2014) running Yosemite 10.10.1. Photoshop stops responding when I'm opening files, saving files or creating new ones. Is anyone suffering the same problem? Does anyone have an answer?

Help. Photoshop CC14 on Mac 5k (2014) running Yosemite 10.10.1. Photoshop stops responding when I'm opening files, saving files or creating new ones. Is anyone suffering the same problem? Does anyone have an answer?

First, go install the MacOS 10.10 updates - you should be on 10.10.2.
I haven't heard of Photoshop not responding during opens and saves.  Does it stop responding while the open/save dialogs are visible, or while Photoshop is actually reading or writing files?
10.10.1 did fix a crash in the open/save dialogs, but 10.10.2 still has some odd issues (mostly program errors coming from the OS code) in the open/save dialogs.

  • Help! I created a Vector shape in Photoshop, and it's only half showing in AI

As you can see by the screenshots, this logo is vector and shows up perfectly in PHotoshop. (it was created in Photoshop and is a layered Vector PDF).  I bring it into AI, though and the top portion of the talking heads disappear.  Though their shape oultines remain.  A grey box shows up when I click a lot.  I am really a photoshop gal, so all this Illustrator stuff is foreign to me.  I'm thinking the grey box is containing my art and only showing what falls within it?  Can someone help me expand it or remove it so that all my logo will show up in AI?  Thanks again!

See the layer panel in Photoshop
or the layer panel in Illustrator
AFAIK Photoshop won't save shape layers as vector paths in a PDF, so you might not find anything in Illustrator.
