Help w/Older Version of SP
I'm running DVDSP 1.5 (and will hopefully be ugrading in the incredibly near future!) but my DVD burner is not making good dvd's (it's dying) and I'm needing to get my film to the replication center soon.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what dvd burner (external) will be compatible with DVD SP 1.5/OS 10.2.1 (or we'll upgrade to 10.2.8 for right now). The Apple Store told me that a LaCie burner would be the best - but I want to make sure the specs match for this older version of SP and OS and I need to know what model will work with DVDSP 1.5.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
G4, 733 Mac OS X (10.2.x)
Well those Toast instructions are for Toast 6 or later and not the 'best' method.
1. Your best bet is to make sure the project is region all and then output an .img before using Toast to burn the .img.
2a. For 6.0.7 or later you're best bet is to Build to the Harddrive, correct the RCM flag with an Editor so the project is region all, then use the Video>Advanced>DVD-Video from VIDEO_TS option. Toast will remove the files that shouldn't be in the VIDEO_TS directory for you and add a AUDIO_TS folder.
2b. Burn a Region All project out of dvdsp. Then use that build with Toast as dvdsp flags the regions correctly when formatting direct to media(/.img).
3. Use the Data>DVD-ROM (UDF) method.
The regions thing isn't an issue with 1.5.x cause the RCM will be 0 if the project is Region All.

I installed the new version thinking it would be the same, It was horrible! uninstalled it... Installed the older version and now it won't open and when I try it says it can't because the library can't open because it was used on a newer version. Come on! I just want my music! How do I open this and get my music back.
I put my Ipod in and it still says the same thing, what's going on? Please help me!I don't know whom to thank first-- b noir for telling me about the Lorraine fix or Lorraine for figuring out the fix. THE LORRAINE FIX WORKED FOR ME!!! (I feel a little like I am advertising "Hooked on Phonics" with that last line!)
Thank you doesn't say it strongly enough, but THANK YOU b noir and Lorraine for your help. I was to the boiling point last night and starting to get there tonight. Now I am resting easy and thankful that there is a community of computer users out there who care enough to troubleshoot problems together and work together to figure out a solution--and then to take the time to post and share information.
I would STRONGLY suggest that anyone who is having the iTunes issues where iTunes just plain won't open at all after downloading the newest version and has a pc with Norton Internet Security 2005 try the "Lorraine Method."
I am so happy I think I might sing. Or not--I will let my songs on iTunes do the singing for me now that I can again!!!!!!!
And to those still looking for answers--be patient--I now know how incredibly frustrating this can be and I hope that you all find your solutions very very soon!!

I know it can be a bit frustrating to try to get a version of an application that will work on an older iOS version. This article explains how to do it -

while updating the older version iTunes to latest one it shows "a network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\windows\installer\iTunes64.msi. pls help on this matter to connect my i5 to PC. Thanks in advance
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
I am trying to remove the older version of iTunes but an error message appears saying that it cannot find the path to 'iTunes64.msi", and I tried the search option to find it on my computer but no such luck. Please help me
Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over. -
My IPod nano (older version) is frozen, so I can't do anything, and all of the online "help" things say that the IPod icon should appear under "Devices" but it's not, and because the IPod's frozen... What should I do???
<What's the difference between a message and a question?>Which older model iPod Nano do you have? iPod Models
Read the user manual for a solution - iPod Manuals
A question ends with a "?" mark and a message ends with a "." period. -

Hi,

Regards,
BirenHere is a solution that worked for a user who also had a problem with iTunes Software Support. This thread was for a win32 version, but Maybe this is the problem for both of you?:
IT appears that AppleApplicationSupport.msi, is not opening and installing properly.
Download and SAVE iTunesSetup.exe, where you can find it.
Then:
1. Download and install WinRAR.
2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally.
Here is a link to that fairly lengthy thread.. http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2151777&tstart=-1 -
I have difficulties with the new version of ITune, which I never experienced in the older versions.
1. I do not know how to transfer a new radio podcast to a playlist. The previous option "show in playlist" does not appear.
2. I do not know how to download an older podcast from the list of available ones offered for download. The latest one only is downloading, none other, not even the most recent but one.
Your help will be greatly appreciated in these difficulties.
I thank you in anticipation.

I have Windows XP, 32 bit version 2002 Svc Pack 2 and when trying to download iTunes 10.5.1 I am getting the following "The older version of Bonjour cannot be removed. Contact your technical support." I've tried a good number of remedies to no avail. Can anyone help?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
If you still have no luck try reinstalling iTunes 12.0, links in the user tip.

Where can i get an older version of Download Helper?
Since the Download Helper no longer works with the new Browser/Add-on Update & it doesn't appear that it will be fixed anytime soon, where could I get and install an older version of the Download Helper?
Did you check for interference with other extensions?
Try a new profile with only that extension installed.
See "Creating a profile":
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
