Help wanted for modifying script

This is a new request following an answer from an earlier thread.
I have got written permition from Steve Wareham to use his script, and get it modifyed to suit my needs. I offered him to do the job for me, but he asked me to pass it on. I don't know anything about scripting, so I would like someone to do the job for me.
The script is this one from the earlier discussion no. 5799917, kindly modified and posted by Vandy88: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5799917#5799917
As mentioned in the end, I would like to recieve help on having the script modified to have another option in the dialogbox "Perform operation on" where I can chose a page range for the script to be affecting?
ie: From page ____ to page ____ .
I want to use this on long documents with step-by-step instructions, where I sometimes need to remove a step in the middle, and therefore need the numbers changed for the rest of the document. The textboxes with numbers are using Paragraph Styles and are not linked. Due to other reasons it is not a solution to just link the textflow.
I will pay a reasonable fee for help on this. Please include an estimate on the cost for re-scripting this.
It needs to work on InDesign CS6 (IE version) and preferable on CC too.

• URGENT -- Help wanted for ADF/UIX

Hi,
I am a newbie in this field -- so any help would be greatly appreciated. Following is the scenario that I am struggling with:
I've two tables, Customer(ID and Name are the columns) and Address (ID (foreign key from customer), address, city are the columns).
I want to be able to display all the fields of Customer and Address table on the same page as a input form and let the user have the ability to enter the customer and address at the same time. On Submit, I want to first save the data into the customer table and then the address information in the address table.
I tried to use UIX and tried dropping in CustomerAddress View in the page, but all I get are the labels, no input fields.
Can anyone please suggest what should I do?? Thanks in advance.
Jatinder

Did you ever figure this out?

• Help need for cal script on CCONV

Hi All expert,
I've installed the currency database and it is working fine, but when I tried to get the exchange rate dynamically based on "Year" and "Version", i got syntax error, following is my code.

• Help wanted for installing DW CS5.5

Hi!
I bought Dream Weaver from Adobe.com about two years ago. Resently I bought a new computer, and I would like the program to be on this computer. So... Can anyone provide me with a link to download of a Dream Weaver CS5.5 trialverision for Mac?
I only can seem to find links, that take me back to the adobe website, whitch doesn't have the installation available.
Best regards

Hi MissJB,

• Help wanted for beginner

Is there anyone out there willing to answer a few questions on configuring iPlanet 5.x for Master-Slave replication? I don't know what I did wrong, but I can't bind using the Replication Wizard on the master. I get the Warning:
Consumer server unreachable or invalid credentials supplied.
Unable to perform subtree duplication verification.
Thanks!

I was able to do this successfully - just followed the manual verbatim.
Is the special user entry you created on the consumer at the correct location? Quoting from the manual, "This entry must not be part of the replicated database. For example, you could use cn=Replication Manager,cn=config <snip>"
Let me know if this works for you.

• CRVS2010 Beta - Help Wanted for VS2010 and CR!

I have been having a hard time getting CR to appear in the VS2010 Ultimate toolbox. I have set the target to Framework 4.0 and installed the CR4VS2010 program but the CR viewer is not showing.
The problem is worsened by the fact that I am new to CR anyway.
I really have been banging my head against a brick wall.
Is there anyway to check the actual installation of CR? The Control Panel says 2008 was installed. Are there any tips about VS2010 and CR working?
Also are there any books about VS2010 and CR? I saw a lot of CR books but there were not about VS2010.
Thanks.
Edited by: Ludek Uher on Jun 17, 2010 8:34 AM

Solution: re-installed cr4VS2010 and then checked Control Panel to ensure Crystal Reports 2010 was installed. The installation is very long and I think before it had not fully installed as especially the progress bar shows 100% but the installing continues.

• Script for color space conversion RGB to CMYK - URGENT Help Wanted

Excuse my ignorance with the basic nature of this question, I don't use InDesign, but I do have a pressing problem regarding it.
My book publisher has just emailed to say that my photography book has been set for the printers in InDesign and the photographs have AdobeRGB color space (which was what I was aksed to send.) The printer needs the images to be in CMYK. The publisher said that he was "pretty sure Adobe Acrobat converts the InDesign files to CMYK" and that he has sent the printer RGB images in the past and they "came out OK". He said that if this will not work, he needs to convert all of the images separately to CMYK.
Can you help with the following:
1. Is he right about the above - can Adobe Acrobat convert the files?
2. Can anyone offer me a script that will convert all of the images in InDesign to CMYK? or will he need to change them individually?
Thanks for any suggestions with this urgent request.
Stephen

1. Acrobat can convert.
2. No need for a script, if the printer needs CMYK, you can export a CMYK pdf.
3. To get the highest quality conversions, you might want to do it in Photoshop.
4. If the images are color managed and the printer has a modern work-flow a color managed RGB PDFX-4 pdf is probably the best way to go...

I can't check on iTunes until tomorrow morning, but in the meantime I can tell you what's wrong with your original feed. The top two lines read

They should read

Without the itunes URL in the second line iTunes cannot parse the required tags to show your episodes. I would guess that the line was there originally but got removed, after which iTunes would not recognize new episodes. Put it back and reload the feed, and it should work if iTunes hasn't terminated your podcast in the meantime.
But to answer your original question: assuming you have access to both feeds; copy everything in the original feed from the first
to the last
near the bottom.
In the new feed, find the last
tag at the bottom (just above the
and
tags), start a new line just after it and insert the material you posted from the original feed (though there are an awful lot of episodes there, and though it's technically not a problem you might want to consider whether you really need all of them in the feed).
If you don't have direct access to the feeds but are using one of the podcast creation services which don't allow this, you will have to follow whatever method they provide for adding the episodes, possibly one at a time.

• Help with first Adobe Script for AE?

Hey,
I'm trying to create a script that will allow me to set a certain number of layer markers at an even interval to mark out a song. Could someone help me troubleshoot this script? I've been working on it for ages now, and I'm about to snap. I've basically gone from HTML and CSS, to javascript and Adobe scripting in the past few hours, and I cannot figure this out for the life of me.
I want to create a dialog with two fields, the number of markers to place, and the tempo of the song. Tempo is pretty simple, its just the number of beats per minute. The script is meant to start at a marker that I have already placed, and set a new marker at incrementing times. Its mainly to help me see what I'm trying to animate too, even if the beat is a little hard to pick up every once in a while.
Also, is there a better way to do this? This script will help me in the long run because I will need to do this pretty often, but I'm wondering if there was something that I could not find online that would have saved me these hours of brain-jumbling?
Thank you very much for any help you can offer.

You should ask such questions over at AEnhancers. I had a quick look at your code but could not find anything obvious, so it may relate to where and when you execute certain functions and how they are nested, I just don't have the time to do a deeper study.

• Help me for writing the password script on solaris

hi,
help me for writing password scripts to change the user/root password.
in the script itself myself want to mention the new password.
now user want to login with the new password only.
model script:
echo $test:`perl -e '$x=crypt('$test123','test');
print $x'`::::::: >> /etc/shadow
test--->username
test123---->new password.
the above script is not working.
kindly help me for writing the script.
Regards,
raja

Well. For one thing, if you just append the new password to the /etc/shadow file there will be two entries for the user in that file (at least if the user already had a password). Which probably is a bad thing.

• I want to check all functions of PCI 6534.I have read the user manual..I have some memory related questions. Please help me for that.

I want to check all functions of PCI 6534.I have read the user manual..I have some memory related questions. Please help me for that.
1.)If i am using the continuous output mode.and the size of generated data is less than 32 MB.If i want to preload the memory, what should i do?I want that first of all i load all my data to onboard memory & then i want to make start the transfer between 6534 & peripheral. Is it possible? As per me it should be.Plz tell me how should i do this?I think that in normal procedure the transfer between 6534-peripheral & outputting data from pc buffer to onboard memory works parallely. But i don't want this.Is it poss
ible?
(2).Similarly in finite input operation(pattern I/O) is it possible to preload the memory and then i read it?Because i think that the PC memory will be loaded automatically when 6534 acquires the data and then when we use DIO read vi the pc buffer data will be transferred to application buffer. If this is true,i do not want this.Is it possible?
(3) One more question is there if i am using normal operation onboard memory will be used bydefault right? Now if i want to use DMA and if i have data of 512 bytes to acquire. How will it work and how should i do it?Please tell me the sequence of operations. As per my knowledge in normal DMA operation we have 32 Bytes FIFO is there so after acquisition of 32 bytes only i can read it.How it will known to me that 32 bytes acquisition is complete?Next,If i want to acquire each byte separately using DMA interrupts what should i do?Provide me the name of sourse from which i can get details about onboard memory & DMA process of 6534 specifically
(4).In 6534 pattern Input mode,if i want to but only 10 bits of data.and i don't want to waste any data line what should i do?

Hi Vishal,
I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.
1) It is definitely possible to preload data to the 32MB memory (per group) and start the acquisition after you have preloaded the memory. There are example programs on ni.com/support under Example Code for pattern generation and the 6534 that demonstrate which functions to use for this. Also, if your PC memory buffer is less than 32MB, it will automatically be loaded to the card. If you are in continuous mode however, you can choose to loop using the on-board memory or you can constantly be reading the PC memory buffer as you update it with your application environment.
2) Yes, your data will automatically be loaded into the card's onboard memory. It will however be transferred as quickly as possible to the DMA FIFO on the card and then transferred to the PC memory buffer through DMA. It is not going to wait until the whole onboard memory is filled before it transfers. It will transfer throughout the acquisition process.
3) Vishal, searching the example programs will give you many of the details of programming this type of application. I don't know you application software so I can't give you the exact functions but it is easiest to look at the examples on the net (or the shipping examples with your software). Now if you are acquiring 512 bytes of data, you will start to fill your onboard memory and at the same time, data will be sent to the DMA FIFO. When the FIFO is ready to send data to the PC memory buffer, it will (the exact algorithm is dependent on many things regarding how large the DMA packet is etc.).
4) If I understand you correctly, you want to know if you waste the other 6 bits if you only need to acquire on 10 lines. The answer to this is Yes. Although you are only acquiring 10 bits, it is acquired as a complete word (16bits) and packed and sent using DMA. You application software (NI-DAQ driver) will filter out the last 6 bits of non-data.
Hope that answers your questions. Once again, the example code on the NI site is a great place to start this type of project. Have a good day.
