HELP WANTED: I wanna buy an iPad or Android Tablet, but IDK which one to buy...
So I am expecting my tax refund in a week or 2 & I wanna buy an Android Tablet, but I am kinda computer/tablet stupid & I have no clue which one to pick... Specific things I want in an Android Tablet include the following: Android 2.3 or newer, touch screen, Micro SD card slot & good battery life are all my must haves!!! Additionally, if possible, I would prefer a White Android Tablet over a Black Android Tablet!!! I am a T-Mobile employee, I work @ their customer service center/inbound call center in Portland, Oregon. My expertise is cell phone activations, new customer activations/sales/upgrades, tech support & billing. I am very unknowledgeable when it comes to the iPad & Android Tablets. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!!! So far I've narrowed down my tablet selection to the Sony Tablet S, Asus Transformer Prime, iPad 2 & Asus Slider... Suggestions??? Keyboard is not hugely important, however it would be nice, I can type very well on a tablet, so keyboard is not a must... Micro SD card & Android 2.3 or higher is an absolutle must!!! Cameras of at least 5MP would be nice as well. I've done a little research since I posted this & iPad 2 is officially off my list. Asus Slider, Sony Tablet S & Asus Transformer Prime are what I'm looking at as of now. As far as screen goes, I want a larger screen if possible. Flash websites I also want access to. When it comes to sound, I listen to alot of music, I am in my 20's so I'm kinda a partier & I like loud music, so something with a high level of audio & vidoe sound would be great!!! I personally own an Android cell phone, the HTC Sensation with T-Mobile, I have had Android cell phones since the very first day the HTC G1 phone came out, the HTC G1 was the very first Android phone ever put out by any cell phone carrier. I absolutely do love Android so very much!!! Based off of all of this, what do you recommend or suggest???

Go to Solution.I'm partial to Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 - Although it is getting a bit dated at this point. It's very well built, and is one of the thinnest and lightest of the Honeycomb tablets. It does not have a MicroSD slot, but there's a USB host adapter available for $20 - I just copy media from a thumb drive using that when I need to.
The Toshiba Thrive is way too thick and heavy.
The Asus Transformer Prime seems to have a lot of quality control issues, in addition to availability issues. I think that Asus screwed up when they gave it a metal body - it has had a severe negative impact on wifi and GPS performance. If you want a quad-core Tegra3-based tablet - wait for someone else to release one.
Nowadays you actually have quite a few choices - 10.1" tablets were the standard for Android tablets, but some people are willing to sacrifice usability a little in order for the improved portability of a 7" tablet, or Samsung's Galaxy Tab 8.9, which is in between the 7" and 10.1" tablets in size.

In order to save using data when traveling I want to delete apps from my iPhone that I don't need. However I do want these apps on my iPad and with the new IOS8.0.2 and Yosemite I think they are all now integrated so that if I delete from one device it is deleted from all and if I add to one device it is added to all. Is this correct?
1. How can I tell which apps are specific to iPhone and which are specific to iPad?
2. How can I tell how much data is being used per app?
3. How can I tell if an app is running in the background?
4. When I turn off cellular data does that limit the app from functioning always or just restrict it to wi-fi?
5. Do I benefit from having Bluetooth on if I don't use a head phone or other device?
6. Is a Personal Hotspot more secure than using paid hotel wi-fi?Deleting on one device does not affect another device.
You can delete the App's on the iPhone and nothing will happen to the ones on the iPad.
1. You don't need to.
2. Settings->Cellular->"Use Cellular Data For" will show the data usage for each App since the last statistics reset
3. Settings->General->Background App Refresh Will show which Apps are allowed to get data in the background
4. It restricts it to Wifi. If the App requires internet access and Data is turned off, it will have to wait until the device is connected to a wifi network.
5. Nope, You just use up battery since the BT radio will continuously look for nearby BT devices.
6. The Personal Hotspot uses your cellular internet connection from your phone or other cellular device; whether you consider that secure or not I cannot say. It also depends on what you are doing while connected to the Hotel's wifi. I would not do online banking while on vacation though. -

I'm a university student .They can both read PDFs. It will really boil down to what screen size you prefer and how portable you want it. The iPad Air has a larger screen, but weighs more than the iPad Mini2. Either one will work for you, its just a matter of preference.

Most retailers have demo devices, go to a store and play with them and see which one works best for you -

I have no idea what you mean by a "pre-vent", but Apple has not announced any new models of iPad, and discussions of rumors and speculation is not allowed in these forums. We'll have to wait until such time as Apple announces a new model and then see if they have a "pre-vent", whatever that might be.

You can download both at the same time.
But you may wish to start off with one and use it full time, then download the other later, so you get the maximum possible time with both.

you can activate on 1 mac and 1 pc, or 2 pc's, or 2 mac's, concurrently.
i have cc installed on 2 pcs and 1 mac. i can only activate 2 at any one time which works well for me because my pcs are at home and my office and i use them most of the time.
but when i travel i take my macbook so i just deactivate one or both of my pcs (uninstalling is not needed) and sign in to my macs cc app. -

For example you can activate on your home computer and another that you use for travel or work. You cannot let someone use that second computer at the same time you are using the first.

But lol, he should also mention that what type of mobile user he is: does he need all in one or specifically music becoz N73 has all-in-all [except wi-fi] but N91 is basically on music.
My answer is N91-1 [WiFi] or N91 8 GIG.
Because:
1.N91 now is released with 2.10.013 which is much trouble free and N91 8 GIG is with 3.00.xxx which is not bad.
2.It has better than IPOD sound with very Good FM Radio
3.its size is either 4 gig or 8 gig.
4.I know y ve heard about the HDD factors but if y carefully maintain the 19 tips from ohgizmodos and tips and guides from support section of this website I CAN BET Y FEEL LESS TROUBLE AND ENJOY GOOD FEATURES.
But if yr focus is only on camera [so called 3 MPix] and nicer screen with BUNCH OF TALENT BUGS y may go for N73 or N73 ME-no one will restrict you. -

I'd like to buy quality sound card, but I'm confused. I don't know which one will be suitable for my needs. I need it for music (85%, listening, not production)) and gaming (5%). I don't want to buy X-FI, because it doesn't work on Linux (it's my main platform).

Audigy 4 as its newer, better and more powerfull than audigy2 zs. also audigy 4 has seperate jacks for headphones line in and out. i rip vinyl to mp3, so need seperate line in/out. that is why i never bought an x-fi card, has stupid 3 way jack going on there.
