Help wanted to sell my mini

I really want a nano, but im not going to buy one without selling my mini first. I have thought about ebay but decided not to because on average an ipod mini sells for 170 dollars (from what ive seen from previous completed aucitions) I currently have a 6GB mini, bought online with a apple extended protection plan. Thats 300 dollars right there. I'm not going to sell my mini at that much of a loss. I know a perfect refund cannot be obtained, but for half the price is unacceptable. does anyone have some other strategies to sell my mini? I appreciate you to take the time to read this. Thanks

I went in the opposte direction. I sent back my iPod Nano and purchased a silver 4GB mini and I am not looking back. The mini is rugged and has all of essential functions that an MP3 player should have.
Good luck with the Nanos everyone. I wish you the best!

  • I want to sell my MacBook, please read and help

I want to sell my MacBook (1.83 GHz) to my roommate and buy the next model up (2.0), which was out of stock at the store when I purchased it. I bought this model because I was leaving for Japan in a few days and needed the laptop. I bought the MacBook in September of this year.
    Here's the problem. Well, problems.
I live in Japan. I'm in the Navy. Will I be able to get a hold of Apple tech support to find out what to do?
I've never sold or bought a used laptop before. Is there a way to "transfer" everything of mine to my new one, and then erase it from the old one, making it like new for my roommate?
I just got the Protection Plan in the mail for my MacBook. Does this expire? I had a 90 day plan when I bought it, I now have the three year plan still wrapped in its box. Can I save it to use on the new laptop, or does it have to be used on this one? And if so, can it be put under her name? Or, should I just send it back for a refund and buy it again when I get the new laptop?
How do I change all the licenses and usernames and such so it becomes "her" laptop?
Not as important as the others: Should I wait until Leopard is released to purchase the new one? When will that be? Or does it really matter.
I know these are tons of questions, but I need them answered, and it's difficult to find time (and money) to call tech support. I'm such a noob at this, as you can tell from my questions, but.
I appreciate any and all help offered!! THANK YOU!
    Cristina
I can be contacted by email at [email protected]

    Hi Christina,
Visit apple store in Japan area to talk with one of their apple guy.
You can transfer your previous macbook files to your new macbook using firewire connection:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh2333.html
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25773
For transfering your apple care, Iread somewhere it can be done but with additional fee that almost half of apple care cost, if that so, I recommend leave the apple care for her and get you another one. But if you never open or register that apple care to your macbook, then I guess you can use it for your new macbook (call apple care to make sure about that).
AFter you transfer your files, it is safer to do format and re-install your old macbook os x so it wipe all of your old information and she get the "fresh" one.
Leopard might be released on 2007, when? Nobody knows for now but estimated within first quarter of 2007.
If you and she can wait, then wait for it .
Otherwise you might spend another $129.99 or so for new Leopard.
    Good Luck.
ps: it is not recommended to put your e-mail on this or any open forum for you might get tons of unrelated e-mail sent to you.

  • Want to sell my iPod Mini but i have lost the CD and need to burn one

Hi i want to sell my iPod Mini but i have lost the CD that it came with. Is there anyway that i can download what was on it and burn it onto a CD for the person who buys it? If that is possible i would appreciate if you could link me to what i would need to download for both the Windows and the Mac.
    Thanks

That is correct, you do not need to give them any disk. They can download the iPod Updater (something they might not already have) and iTunes (might already have it), both more recent versions than came with the iPod, from iTunes.com.

  • Hi. My ex girlfriend used her apple id and icloud to register my iphone. and now i want to sell my phone to someone but i cant reset all the contents and password because i dont know her password. we dont have anymore communication right now.  please help

Hi. My ex girlfriend used her apple id and icloud to register my iphone. and now i want to sell my phone to someone but i cant reset all the contents and password because i dont know my ex password. we dont have anymore communication right now.  please help. thnx

No one here can help you, nor can/will Apple. Unless you can get that info, you won't be able to restore the phone, to sell it, or re-activate it.
You need to somehow get back in touch with your girlfriend & obtain this info, or all you'll own is a paperweight.

  • Just got a new MBP and I want to sell my old one.

The email I got from Apple says they will give me $500 for my 3 year old MBP.  I have a lock set but I do not remember how I did this or how to remove it, but when I want to make a change with the time, for example, I have to insert a mastercode.  it is the same code when that brown/beige lock comes up. It only shows up at different times when I am trying to make a change. The company that will take my computer neds all locks removed.  It does not show up when I want to make changes to System pref.  Does anybody know how I turn that off because the company who will buy the old MBP needs this master pasword/lock turned off.
any suggestions on how to turn off the lock or set it so it does not show up anymore?  I think I found it under System Pref.---Security---Uncheck "Require a password..."  The locks are still there but so far the ones I have gone back to look at are unlocked.

This is just the standard user password for your account. If you've forgot it, there are various ways to reset it, depending on which version of OS X you're running.
If you want to sell your old machine, take a look at Thomas Reed's How to prepare your Mac for sale.
If you need help on resetting your password, post back with your OS X version.

  • I want to sell my MacBook Pro-How do I find the exact model number?

    It's late 2011 i7 15 inch and the specs I pull up show 2.4GHz MacBook Pro (MD322LL/A)
Except that i'ts when I click About this Mac it shows:
Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    Serial Number  C0**********W47
    Software  OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
    It also gives this info:
    Processor and memory
2.2GHz or 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 6MB shared L3 cache; or optional 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 8MB shared L3 cache and I know it's this and 750 GB SATA Disk
    4GB (two 2GB SO-DIMMs) of 1333MHz DDR3 memory; two SO-DIMM slots support up to 8GB
Basically, I'm wanting to sell it because I just don't need such an expensive Mac and I hardly ever use it. I bought it new in September 2012 and it's in mint condition. Since it was a model year behind, I only paid $1899.
I have the box but I'm out of town so I was just hoping to figure out what I want to do. I still have the original receipt, it has Office University (or whatever it's called) and a Magic Mouse.
Any ideas of where/how I should sell it? I usually use Craig's list but I don't think that's a great idea for this item. Also, how much do you Apple experts think I should ask? I'm addicted to my iPad 2 but it's on iOS 5 still because it's, well, you know...I like to configure my displays and icons and be able to free memory, etc. so I mainly use it. Thanks for any help! Much appreciated!

    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

    Carrie,
the information that is provided by About This Mac is accurate. What you have is a CTO (“Configure To Order”) variant of the MD322LL/A; thus, referring to it simply as a “MD322LL/A” does not uniquely identify it. I would recommend describing it as a “2.5 GHz 15-inch Late 2011 MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM and 750 GB HDD”, so that the buyer knows exactly what you’re offering. Make sure that the box, the other original accessories that came in the box, and the original receipt are included with the MacBook Pro; picky buyers (like me ) appreciate receiving all of those constituent components.
Note, however, that according to the Mavericks software license agreement, that because its installed version of Mavericks was originally downloaded from the Mac App Store, its copy of Mavericks is non-transferable; you will need to erase Mavericks and its recovery partition from the MacBook Pro’s internal disk before selling it. It would save the buyer some time if you would also perform an OS X Internet Recovery to restore its original Lion onto its internal disk before the sale.
To get an idea of what you should ask for it, take a look at online auction sites to see what other 15-inch Late 2011 MacBook Pros are selling for. You are likely to find more 2.2 GHz and 2.4 GHz models than 2.5 GHz models like yours, so you could add a premium of some amount to whatever the more common models are going for. If you live in an urban area, Craigslist could be used to sell it, as long as you and the buyer can agree on acceptable payment terms; finding a willing buyer might be more difficult if you live in a rural area.

Well, no one here can help you. Contact whoever you purchased the phone from. If purchased from Apple, call AppleCare or the store where you purchased.

  • Want to sell my Mac ...

I want to sell my Mac air 2012 to a friend, but want to erase my credentials..I have no important files on this Mac but would like to give him with a clean install. I re installed mountain lion like someone suggested however it's still asking for my Apple ID on the restart...what can I do to have the original set  up where he can enter his own info..please help.

Before you sell or give away your computer, in addition to the steps mentioned in this support article, take these steps:
If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.
If you activated FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, turn it off.
If you use Boot Camp, the partition must be deleted
If you created any other data partitions on the internal drive, remove them in Disk Utility.
Erase the data partition(s) with the option to zero out data. An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You can't legally or practically transfer any software downloaded from the Mac App Store to the new owner of the machine, even if it was free. That includes OS X, so if you upgraded to OS X 10.7 or later, you must reinstall  the original OS, either from the installation media, if applicable, or by booting into Internet Recovery (option-command-R at the startup chime.)
The new owner will have to repurchase the software, if need be, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer them either.
Remove the machine from your list of registered products. If it's still covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan, transfer the coverage to the new owner by following the instructions in the AppleCare Terms and Conditions (under the heading "Transfer of Plan.")

  • HT4718 I want to sell my iMac with clean install

I bought my iMac with Lion installed. I purchased Mountain Lion and upgradded it to Mountain Lion. I am getting ready to sell it and want to sell it with a clean install of Mountain Lion. I have a DVD that I burnrd on another Apple PC that I used to do the install on my iMac if that helps.

Frankly, I don't know if that would work - it'll be "sitting" at the app store for your buyer, so that should be ok; as far as I know, the app store retains the settings of your Apple ID and machine ID - but I do not know if those settings are also buried somewhere in the OS system. You can try it - maybe it'll work; if it won't, I'm sure you'll get an error message and you can try the Apple store idea. Oh, and by the way, you said that your machine came with Lion? If that is preinstalled on the machine, you are allowed to make a one time transfer of the OS, but you will need to call Apple to accomplish that - this may involve some process/setting that Apple needs to do (I don't know the exact process since I've not had to do this, but just quoting what the license agreement stipulates) - this probably also has to do with ID's.

  • Apple doesn't sell iPad mini 32gb??

I'm planning on buying an iPad mini but wanted a 32 gb but only see that Apple sells the 16 gb?? But other stores have the 32gb but out of stock??

That's right, similar to what they do with the previous iPhone when a new one gets released.
If you want a 32GB iPad Mini, you have to get e Retina Mini or buys a used one somewhere.

  • I want to buy iPad mini wifi  + cellular for indian freind. Which Carrier should i select while buying it online?

I want to buy iPad mini wifi + cellular for indian freind. Which Carrier should i select while buying it online?
As far as i know service provider is not a constraint for i pad as ipads are always unlocked. Also, do we need to get nano sim from US or India srvice provider will have it? i am asking this as in Singapore iPads are offering 3 free nano sim cards.

There is no CDMA in Europe or UK if that influences you, only GSM
All the UK Carriers offer Data nano sims ,on contract or PAYG
and this will help on 4G

  • Downgrade OS X to sell Mac Mini

I want to sell my Early 2009 Mac Mini.  It currently has Lion loaded on it using my AppleID.  I have read you cannot transfer software purchased with an AppleID to another person, but I'd rather not sell the system associated with my AppleID anyway.  I have read on many forums how you can boot with the original OS disc (10.5 Leopard) holding down the Option key and choose the CD instead of recovery disk to reinstall the original OS.  However, the CD is not an option.  I also tried a retail Snow Leopard disk and that doesn't appear either.  I have also tried holding down the C key during boot, but the CD's eject.  Shouldn't I be able to re-load Leopard on this Mini?  Does anyone else have any ideas to try?

There is more than one thing you need to take care of and at least one problem to solve.
Be sure you have a working Time Machine backup, Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper clone of your hard drive.
On your old Mac mini launch iTunes then on the menu bar go to Store > Deauthorize this computer. That will remove the mini from your account as well as any software purchased through the App Store, or iTunes store.
Place the original boot DVD that came with your Mac mini in the optical drive. (This will have to be the original boot DVD.)
In System Preferences > Startup Disk click on the padlock and enter your administrative password then select the optical drive and click Restart
Start through the Installation procedure until a menu bar appears at the top of the screen then from the menu bar select Disk Utility > your hard drive > Erase. (I usually do a one pass secure erase -- it takes longer but guarantees you leave no traces behind.
After erasing the drive quit Disk Utility and continue with installing the OS.
After the OS is installed your compute will restart -- DO NOT CONTINUE SETTING UP THE COMPUTER -- Quit the setup shut down the computer.
Present the computer and the original install DVD to the new owner.

  • I want to sell an original song on iTunes. How?

I'm going to a recording studio this Wednesday to record an original song. I want to sell it on iTunes. Does anyone have ideas pertaining to how I do this?
    Grazi!

There are multiple websites that allow you to do this.
I believe the 2 most popular are ReverbNation, and CD Baby.
Both of these charge a yearly fee to keep the music on Itunes. If you're just doing one song, you'll submit it as a single. I use ReverbNation, and I believe the charge is somewhere around 30-35 dollars yearly.
Since the song is an original, I would copyright it first before posting on any site, or submitting to Itunes.
It's relatively easy to do, and after all the initial submitting is done, it takes roughly 5-8 weeks to finally go live.
I believe the album that i have up there went live in about 3 or 4 weeks so it really doesn't take as long as it says.
    Hope this helped!
