Help was given bad advice and now device inst working
Was told by another user on here to change the confreg to 0x800 so i tried it i entered
confreg 0x800
reset
After the device did that i started getting random jiberish like the baud rate is wrong on the console. and i cant read anything or do anything now. Help how do i fix this issue?
We do not know what platform this is on, but as you have discovered changing the config registry to 0x800 produced unexpected results. I believe that Leo is on the right track that part of the solution could be to change the speed specified by your terminal emulator to match what has been set on the device. If 115200 does not get it to work I would suggest starting with your emulator set to 1200, and try all of the speeds (2400, 4800, 9600 etc) till you find the one that works.

Help, was clearing HD out and now will not start up!
I think I may have deleted some files i shouldn't have whilst trying to free up some space on my imac. If I turn it on it goes to the screen with the grey box telling me to restart my computer. Over the screen there is loads of text starting with, panic(cpu 0): unable to find driver for this platform: "powermac4.2" and then more text and numbers. I cannot do anything beyond this point.I am using another computer at the moment. Have I just killed my computer or can anybody help??

You are suffering what's known as a Kernel Panic due to those missing system files. Without knowing what's missing exactly the only what ahead is to boot from the OS X Install disk and conduct and Archive and Install. Your data will remain intact but the system preferences etc will be replaced.
I dare say you don't want the lecture on 'messing with system files' or 'having a whole system back-up on an external drive'?

I have an iPhone 4 thats i was trying to fix and now it will not turn on at all is there anyway that i can access my pictures and contacts from my new phone or pc? Aslo the are both on the same apple id but i dont know if that would help or not.
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -
my iphone was updated with IOS6 and now it wont play any of my music it just svroles through every song and wont stop i turned it off using the twin keys start and turn off but still no help please can some one halp me this apple softwear is crap

If your iPhone wont power on, I recommend going through these steps first:

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.

Every time i go to a secure website using firefox latest version i get an error saying "This Connection is Untrusted" This was never there before and now its appearing. So you will have to disable that filter or install the ESET root certificate that chains to that certificate. -

What options are selected and deselected if you go to System Preferences and Dock?

It's possible your child just messed around with these settings and moved the dock to the left or right and triggered auto-hide and so forth -

Hi. So i had an iphone 4s. The phone was completely destroyed it was cracked, water damged, and now lost. I had about 1500 pictures on there. I just got an iphone 4 today and synced my icloud to find that no pictures loaded. Talked to apple and they want $250 and it's not guaranteed. If you ever backed it up while these photos were on it, restoring another iOS device to the backup should recover them. If the backup was done with iTunes rather than iCloud, you may also be able to extract the photos from the backup on your computer by using 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor (http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com/).

The iCloud was never verified therefore never backing up anything on my iphone 4s because it was the wrong email and now I'm trying to make a new one but it says if I delete the account it will remove it's data from my phone. So if I put delete account will I lose everything on my Iphone?
This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

Two people gave the same bad advice and it's costing me $300+
So I have phone on my plan that was stolen and I want to have it removed from the plan. I call Verizon and am told that if I get a tablet, it can replace the phone and I won't be charged the early termination fee. Sounds good, right? So I get the ipad and it's added to my plan. I call last week to have the replacement done and the rep says everything is cool. The deletion/switch has been done. Well, I go online to check to make sure and the phone is still on there. I call Verizon Wireless and am first told sure it can be done and then after being on hold for a while, am told it can't happen because I bought the ipad on the Edge program and that it was going to cost me $300 to remove the line that wasn't being used. When I mentioned that two people had told me it could be done (with no mention of Edge) the rep had nothing to say - - no sorry for the misunderstanding - - nothing. So I'm stuck with an ipad I don't necessarily need and the fee that I was told by two people I wouldn't be charged.

The problem for me is that I was told that I could replace an iphone 4 with the ipad and not be charged the service fee (keep in mind from two verizon reps). Now it looks like I will be $300 for a phone that costs me 99 cents because I was given misinformation. And what really ****** me off is that the rep I talked to this morning first told me that someone was making the change and then came back and said it couldn't be done. He never apologized for the miscommunication or anything. I did ask that the line be taken off and the $300 added to my bill. I'm going to check again tomorrow and if it's not been done I will move every bit of my business to another carrier who has agreed to pay any early termination and transfer charges. More than anything, I am really disappointed with the customer service. In addition to cell service, I have home phone, cable and internet with Verizon and this has really made me rethink continuing my busines with you.
