my friend was using my ipod and some soda got spilled on it so i wiped it down with a wet cloth and now my clickwheel wont work someone help

Sorry to say, but your iPod is probably not going to survive.
If soda got inside, if/when it dries out there will probably be some pretty messy deposits of sugar and residue left on components of the iPod. Not good.
If you're lucky, and only water got inside, you might have a little more hope.
Leave the iPod alone... turned off... for a while. At least a week.
DON'T TOUCH IT OR CONNECT IT TO A COMPUTER.
Leave it alone and let it dry out by itself.
If, after a week or so, you think it's fully dried out, then try turning it on. Hopefully you'll get lucky.
If the battery is dead.. try charging it with an AC adapter. I wouldn't risk charging it with the computer after this. Something might short out and possibly damage your USB port on the computer.
I realize that my advice leans more towards the overly cautious side.

Place the iPod in a sealed container with a desiccant for a week. Uncooked rice works. Change the desiccant every day or so for a week.
Do not charge or turn on the iPod until dry. Then try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

ClickWheel Not working .. need help

My 30G Ipod Photo clickwheel stoped working yesterday. I`ve had it for 17 months. All the key buttons work ( Play , Back , forward , Menu and select) But it does not scroll down. Its like the Touch sensitive just stopped. It would not do a soft reset so I wore the Batt down and it reset its self. Same deal it didnt work. Now I just did a Restore and still nada.
Anyone have any suggestions for me? or am I just gonna have to suck it up and try and get a new Ipod?

Alright, mine works a little now. Jessica, try scrolling while pushing down on the buttons. Mine worked like that. Had to kind of force it a little. It got a better after sitting on the cradle for a while. Anyone out there with this issue, don't waste your time and effort with the restore function. This is pure hardware baby. Let me know if you can scroll while pressing down to see if we have the same issue.

A replacement iPhone is usually a refurbished iPhone that has received new battery and case and repair of anything that may have been faulty. The refurbished iPhone is indistinguishable from a new iPhone. A number of the regulars on here prefer the refurbished Aplle products because they have been so thoroughly tested.
A replacement iPhone is identical to the original, same color, capacity, and so on.

I found an answer that worked for me. I am using an iMac.
(1) Sign out of the iTunes store
(2) Open a NEW account with a new Apple ID
(3) Go through the sign up process and then go to the ACCOUNT INFORMATION page
(4) Go to RECOMENDATIONS & PING POSTING
(5) Turn on Genius there
Once the Genius updates, you can sign out and then sign in under your original Apple ID or the e-mail address you use for the iTunes store. All my store credit was there and now Genius worked.
Rather odd but I actually like the Genius at times except when it can't deal with some of my lesser known bands that I listen to.
Worked for me.

Sounds stoped working on my iphone 5s including ringer help please!

My Iphone 5s's sounds randomly stoped working. I can play music or the ringtone if i'm testing them but it won't ring on incomming calls no lock screen sound, keyboard sounds etc or any sounds related to apps either.
I'm gone though and made sure evyething was inabled/disabled (i think) so short of going to a store is ther eanythign i can do to fix this? Any help appreciated please 'cause i'm going nuts! Thank you!

My phone won't turn on. I have tried the Power button home button several times and even held it for over 3 minutes.. When I plug it in it still won't respond to itunes PLEASE HELP!! A little water got in it but it was like a drop or two..

I also have tried to put it in rice and left it there for 9 hours and it still doesn't work

A drop or two of water may have been enough to cook it. If it was bad enough to prompt you to put it in a bag of rice, then I'd venture to guess it was more than a drop or two.
Try putting it back in the bag of rice and leave it there for several days.
If that doesn't fix it, then you're more than likely looking at paying for an out of warranty replacement.
Water and delicate electronics don't generally get along well.

Water got inside my Z1

Hello,
I used my phone to take some pictures and videos under water
After a while it turned off and started to vibrate three times.
and when I cheked I found that some water got inside. I took off sim card and the SD card and tried to dry water
I used hair dryer. my phone got back to life , I was happy , howver, there is no signal bars at all.
I have tride to rest the phone , and took it off and put in again , but it didn't work, I ,also tried to hard reset the phone but it didn't work either .
it tells me that there is a sim card but no signal. is it a hardwere issu ? how to make sure ?
please help me

they same issue has happened with me too. while using camera of my z1,the phone got hot and restarted. so i let it under tap water. next thing i knew screen backlight started flickering. the front screen panel got buldged out. clearly showing that it was not properly sealed. this is my refubrished set that i recieved 2 months ago. camera lens started showing water vapours on it.the backlight of phone not working now.
i contacted sony care and told everything. but they showed me that water has logged inside as red indicators under flap were triggered.
i told them that i know and admitting that water has logged inside my z1.i told them water may have entered from front panel of phone not from flaps, as i am carefull.
they told me that its past 6 months and now they can't help me. if i want to get phone replaced i have to pay 50%-80% of MRP.
i told them that this is not fair.
now plz help me guys and tell me what should i do . should i take legal actions against them?

Macbook Keyboard Partially stoped working

ok i have a macbook and the other day my keyboard randomly stoped working. now the FN keys at the top work including the brightnesss, volume, expose, dashboard, ect... but none of the letters work (a-z) also the enter key doesn't work caps lock doesnt work shift doesnt work and so on, BUT the arrow keys work
i went to the apple store yesterday and the genius told me they didn't know what was wrong with it and to reinstall leopard. only problem is i don't have my second dvd that came with my computer to install all the ilife08 stuff and i dont have the office 08 cd that was provided by my school. so when i got home i plug in my external hard drive which i use for time machine, pop in the disk and do a full restore to 3-7-08 after about 2 hours of it restoring it finally was finished, leopard boots up and finally everything works! so i go to bed. wake up this morning, go to class and i'm using my laptop in class to take notes in word. all of the sudden when i go to type another sentence the keyboard once again dies! i wasn't doing anything on my computer besides word. i believe the only other application i had running was little snich. so now i'm not sure why in gods name this has happened to me 2 times. the mac genius told me it wasn't a hardware problem and most likely software. what could be wrong????

I can only be of limited help, but I use Little Snitch and it's never given me any problems.
It's possible that some application is hijacking the keyboard input, but that seems to bizarre. It could be hardware, since the cable that connects the keyboard to the laptop is directly under the keyboard and it could be shorting out intermittently.

My computers hard drive has stoped working, how can I retrieve my Itunes library from my computer?

My computers hard drive has stoped working. How can I retrieve my itunes library? My back ups were on this hard drive as well.
When I brought my computer to be fixed they said they would retrieve photos and music and documents but loose my programs. That being said I am not sure if I will recover my music from itunes because it may fall under the program category. I support itunes by purchasing from itunes, but now i am in a position where i may loose years of purchassing music and it has me feeling a little bit sick to be honest...the stress this is causing is really big. DÙoes anyone have any experience with this type of problem?

If the data is recoverable from the drive then they should have recovered the entire iTunes folder which includes the library database. Restore this into the <User's Music> folder of a replacement system, install iTunes, and it should be as before.
