Help!! What do i about a broken ipod screen?

I have no idea what happened but my ipod's screen has gone nuts! it's got this black spot on it and colored lines. Which make it impossible to look at what your doing. but music will still play. So one of my other problems is that I can't get to my serial number! I belive I'm still under warranty, but I'm not 100% sure. Any ideas?

I could be mistaken, but isn't the serial number also printed on the back of the iPod?

What do you mean?
Try going to Settings>General>Accesibility and see if Invert Colors (or white and black on early iOSs is on.) Tur off.
If still problem
Try:

If you are under warranty, the fastest way to get your iPod repaired is to go to an Apple store.
Next best thing: fill out a service request form: http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/. *Note: if you've had the iPod more than 6 months, you will be charged for shipping.

What did the photos and video come from? Where they in the iPod's Camera Roll album?
If the photos were synced to the iPod then they are not included in the backup.
If the videos were synced to the iPod and were not iTunes purchases than they are also not in the backup. If they were purchased from iTunes try redownloading them:

Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
