Help. when I link html pages, they show up much larger in browser

Hello,
I designed 5 pages. When I look at them all through the browser individually in Dreamweaver CS4, they show up all correctly with a fixed width of 950.
The problem comes when I link my navigation buttons to the html pages. When I click onto the links to the pages in the browser, three out of five of the pages become large. Instead of a 950 pixel width, all the content becomes bigger to fit my browser on my 15 inch screen.
Can someone please help? I've been looking at this all day and need to get this done for a friend soon.
I have saved all my files as document relative in Dreamweaver cs4. I have also defined the target of each link as "self".

Perhaps you could jsut paste the html for one of yoru problematic pages here so we can see it, altho tht may not be enough to really tell.
The method you appear to have used to create the page is not the most desirable, but should have worked okay I would think. And such a table ought not typically be fluid unless you went out of yoru way to make it so, so not sure what is happening. Have to see the page.
Another option is to upload your page, and its associated assets (images, cs js files etc) to http://www.getdropbox.com/ i jsut learned about
this site recently on this forum and it seems a great idea for allowing us to see yoru page and help you. Far bettr than pasting yoru code here!

This is occurring with Outlook. So is in that program or some link with Firefox

If you are talking about your sender name (the one that appears on the From line when you compose an email) rather than your @icloud.com email address, to change it on your iOS device, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap iCloud under Accounts, tap your iCloud account at the top of the next screen, tap Mail at the bottom of the next screen, then enter the name you want to use in the Name field at the top. When I drag the doc in a line would show up in the past, and if I went above th eline all was good. It doesn't have a line, and no matter what I try I am having no success.

According to an Apple Support article, unless there are unforeseen issues
in file ownership or permissions, the combining of .PDFs should be simple.

of OS X in use; some vintage OS X may vary a little in the process...

No that was not it. I was signed into my iMessages under my email address as soon as I signed out others can now receive my texts under my number. Thanks for the help though

I am having problems syncing recently recorded songs to my iPod. I am using an ion program to record vinyl records to iTunes. The songs are in the iTune library and will play on the computer. When I try to sync they show up but do not play. help

I am using an ion piece of equipment to record vinyl reccords to my iMac and in turn save them in iTunes. I have recorded many records this way and have never had a problem until yesterday. I recorded three songs from records to iTunes and was successful as they are on the song list and will play on the iMac. When I tried to sync them to my iPod they showed up on the menu but would not play. The iPod just skipped over the new guys. Am I doing something wrong or has my ion program flipped out? Any help would be appreciated by this old man. Thankyou

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

Is your CSS file inside your Local Site folder?
Are you sure your external CSS file is linked with the correct file path? For example, if working with new pages, you must save & name the page first. Then DW will update paths to external files for you.

Yes it is because you recently upgraded.
iPhoto 08 is looking for QuickTime 7 and 10.6 has QuickTime X.
Solutions: Install QuickTime 7 - it's an optional install on the 10.6 disk
or
Upgrade to a later version of iPhoto.

Images in linked html pages

I created a website with iweb '08. On one page I have text that is hyperlinked to a html file. The file has text and an image in it. In the finder on my computer disk drive the html file also has a folder with an image list file and the image files. When I publish it to mobile me, the folder with the image info does not copy. When I open the web page and click on the text the html page opens and the text is there but image is not. If I manually copy the image folder to my idisk web folder in the correct location, then open the web page and click on the text to link to the html file, the image appears and everything is normal.
The question is why does the image file folder not copy to the web site when you publish and is there a work around other than manually copying the folder to the idisk??

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. iWeb only uploads the particular file that is being linked to. I suggest you put the html file in the folder with the other files and adjust the links in it accordingly and upload that folder to your iDisk/Web/Sites folder. Then make the link in iWeb to be: http://homepage.mac.com/youraccount/foldername/file.html.

Linking HTML pages from shapes in a java Applet

I have defined MouseEvents to some shapes in a ShapesPanel. When the user presses the mousebutton on those shapes, I want the user to be redirected to a HTML page. Is this possible?
In HTML the linking code to another page is <a href..>
What is the code in an applet?

Embedded swf "jumping" when scrolling an html page

Hello!
I have created a banner file in Flash and when embedding an swf file on the html page the swf banner appears to be "jumping" up and down when the page is longer and needs to be scrolled. This only happens when scrolling the page.
I put up an example here:

You can see the black swf box jumping towards the red dots when scrolling.
This turns out to be a problem on a website I'm working with since it's creating a rather nervous vibe to the whole feel of the site - example here:

Any ideas what's causing this?
I am using Dreamweaver and Flash cs3.
It seems to be a problem in all the browsers.

Sorry it took me a little while to figure out how to reply here.
I’m happy this is not a problem on each computer according to your replies.
I believe Java Script would be more up to date way of doing this, but the original idea was more complicated – with animated text and such so that’s why flash. I thought just to make a static picture that will show in ipads and such when flash is not supported.
I can still see that jumping thing although I updated my flash player and otherwise have just the same browser versions as Jon.
I might consider switching the animation part to javascript animation.

Annoying screen appears everytime when calling another html page.

i deployed my form application onto the web successfully. But
there's one screen (Oracle Developer Server R6i) appearing every
time I go to another page.
For example: I have 2 forms A and B, each has its own html page
containing Applet tab. The application starts from A.html, and
A will call B.html. This oracle screen displays all the time
when i click back or forward.
How can I eliminate it?

The reasons I want to use web.show_document are:
Firstly I don't know how to close the calling form when open the
called form. The code works in client/server env, but it just
hangs there on the web.
Secondly, I hope to use the web back button to return to the
previous form.

My guess is that you are talking about the splash screen that
you can disable with a paramter in the HTML file.
But this will not happen if you use normal CALL_FORM or
OPEN_FORM buil-in in forms to activate one form from the other.
Don't use web.show_document to open a new form it will only work
slower that way.

Viewing HTML page saved on the server from the browser

In my application i am having some HTML pages saved on the server. I had given an option to the user to view the HTML page from my application. behind the scene what i am doing is that the view request will get handled by a servlet and from that servlet iam locating the HTML page on the server directory and sending the HTML page to browser by using the Servlet OutputStream. The HTML page is shown on the browser but the attached images are not shown. The images are also there in the server directory and are refered in the HTML file correctly. When i directly open the HTML file then the images are shown correctly.
Can anyone suggest wat's wrong there.

You have to undertsand how the browser handles images and other resources in a HTML page. In the HTML there is an image tag that has a url to an image which can be a reletive url or an absolute url (starts with a "/").
If the url is a relative url the browser interprets the url as being relative to the url currently displayed in the address field discarding the last element of the url . So if the url in the address bar is http://www.myserver.com/myapp/mypage.html and the relative url is images/myimage.jpg, the browser will submit a request to the server for http://www.myserver.com/myapp/images/myimage.jpg
Now let's say that you are call mypage.html from a servlet that has the url http://www.myserver.com/myapp/servlets/myservlet. Then when the browser tries to retrieve myimage.jpg it will use the url http://www.myserver.com/myapp/servlets/myservlet/images/myimage.jpg and since this is incorrect it will not be able to display the images.
One solution to this is to change all of the image urls to absolute urls. That is the start with a slash where the slash represents the start of the url after the application domain name. For example you used an absolute url for myimage.jpg it would look like /images.myimage.jpg and when accessing the page through the servlet url (http://www.myserver.com/myapp/servlets/myservlet) the browser will discard everything after http://www.myserver.com/myapp and look for the image at http://www.myserver.com/myapp/images/myimage.jpg which is the correct url.
A second solution is to use the HTML BASE tag which tells the browser not to interpret the image tag urls (and other resourses) using the current url in the address bar but to use the url supplied in the HTML BASE tag. The browser will still perform the same process for relative urls but now relative to the BASE tag url. Since the BASE tag url will be the same every time the page is accesssed the images should be correctly accessed no matter how the page is accessed (eg directly, using RequestDistpatcher or via your servlet)

How can I add a folder of MP3s to Final Cut so they show up in the media browser?

I have a collection of royalty free audio clips in MP3 format. I would like to get them to show up in the media browser, so I don't have to go to the finder each time to get them into a project. Any idea how to do this?

If you want them in the Music and Sound media browser specifically, rather than in your Event Library, then you could easily just add them to your system's iTunes library, then access them via FCP X:

Or if you want to avoid adding / organizing them in your iTunes library then you can just drag and drop your already organized MP3 folder directly into the Sound and Music media browser pane inside FCP X and the app will add that folder to the browser inside a new "Folders" category.

When I try to open any kind of links, the page first shows me "the document has moved" and then goes on to some advertisement page.

When I follow any kind of links or try to open something in another window or new tab, the browser first shows the white page with text "the document has moved", and then moves to advertisement page of some sort. Usually in the small box where the page description is it says "Jump". I don't know how to disable it, it is really irritating.

How can I get my files to print? when i go to the print page they show up a black page .

I seem to be having trouble getting downlaoded pdfs to print off. I can view them and they look ok but then i go to the print setup and all that shows is a black page. If i try to open the saved file from the desktop it say the file is damaged or corrupt . this doesnt always happen. sometimes it's fine, so idont know what is wrong, the file , my printer , adobe reader?? can anyone help?

this is message i get when i try to open the file. Adobe Reader could not open 'calleen-2014-a4-form.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
when i am viewing the document online i dont have any access to adobe reader menus or bar at the top, then i go to print from safari browser and then the page in the print box is black , no image. Any other suggestions . thanks
