Help, where is "Ignore accidental input when typing" checkbox on the PC?

Hi all,
I'm new to Macs and just got myself a new MBP Corei7. It's running Windows 7 great, however I find the track pad just too sensitive when I type on the keyboard, I keep inadvertently touching the track pad with my palm or thumb as I type causing the cursor to jump.
Under the Bootcamp help, there's an entry:
"Change the following under “Palm Rejection”:
Ignore accidental input when typing: Select to make the computer ignore the trackpad while you type."
But my Trackpad tab in the Bootcamp settings within Windows 7 doesn't have this option/check box. I made sure that I did have the latest BootCamp 3.1 drivers. But I can't find it anywhere. It says on a support thread here on the Mac side that that option has been removed on the Mac side of the Track Pad settings and enable by default (on late 2009 MBP)- can anyone confirm that for the PC side of things, because I've already done 4 typos on this message due to accidentally touching the pad while typing!

Upon further examination, I don't believe it's accidental trackpad touching that is the culprit here. I am typing in such a way that I am very VERY mindful of not touching the trackpad and occasionally I still get the "cursor jump" to another portion of the screen (even though I am aware that I have no part of my hand in contact with the trackpad. I fact I believe that "ignore accidental input when typing" is enabled by default across both PC and Mac trackpad drivers, I can rest my palms and upper thumbs on the track pad and it still has no effect on my typing. I think this cursor jumping might be something else. If I un-check all the trackpad options in the BootCamp track pad tab (ie; tapping...) then the problem goes away - which leads me to believe maybe the tapping is sensing some part of my hand (even though its not touch) that the poximity of some part of my hand is triggering a click to some portion of my screen.

I can offer suggestions, but I can not fix it.
Press enter three or four times before you start typing and then move the cursor back to the start. What happens is your point of insertion gets outside your predefined font range, it is a know bug and that will help you "stay in the lines" Another option is type Rick, go back to the start and then type your message. Anything which keeps the insertion point from the very end of the email really.

As expected, cdm-git also works fine since DMs only work in the root mode as of now.
Just for the record, both type commands output "/usr/bin/startx" and pacman -Q gives "systemd 215-4".

Simple and fast solution: restore from your back up.
Other than that:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Why don't I get google results when typing keyword into the location bar?

When typing keywords into the location bar, instead of taking me to Google I get a "problem loading page the connection was reset" error. And the domain it automatically takes me to is domainnotfound.Internetserviceprovider.net. Is there any way that if I don't type in a full url and just press enter it will give me the google results for those keywords? thank you for the assistance

Sounds that your ISP is detecting whether a DNS look up fails in redirect you to that optimum.net url.
In such a case you need to contact your ISP and ask them for alternative DNS servers that do not redirect you or you can set other DNS servers yourself.

HT1904 I chose a movie to download from I Tunes, it seemed to begin downloading then stopped. I checked my account and was billed for it and paid but now the movie is no where to be found. When I go to the support area recommended it says "cannot connect,

Question; I have been using I Tunes for over three years now. The other night I chose a movie to watch on my IPad2 and rented it and began the download and all seemed Ok. Then I could not find the movie, went to my account page and I had already been charged for the movie and I Tunes was already paid but NO moviie anywhere. I sent an email to ITunes but so far no response and it has been several days now. When I try to go to the purchased page or rentals page I get the message that says "Cannot connect to this page, try again later" and this is what I get over and over again. Also, did anyone out there know that ITunes charges a different amount for a movie depending on whether you are using a laptop or an IPad. The laptop is $3.99 and the IPad is $4.99 for the same movie. Is anyone else on to this?
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate your help. Oh, almost forgot, when I click on the downloads button it only goes to a page with Something about agreements with software and gives you choices of all the countries on earth and when you choose the USA it gives you the same old message of sorry cannot connect, try again later. As far as the prices, the difference is likely the laptop version is the SD version and the iPad one is available in HD. That's the only reason you'll see a price difference. It has nothing to do with the device with movies/movie rentals. Apps yes, these no.

How are you trying to sync? With Photo Stream or thru iTunes?
Do you have an iCloud preference pane in your System preferences?

Where did my cursor go when I was surfing the web?

My cursor disappeared when I was surfing two different sites today. My only solution was to power off and reboot. [My touchpad is not turned off.] Is this a problem that has an easier solution or is this a technical problem that needs fixing by HP/Compaq? The laptop is a Compaq Presarion CQ56 and I have had it for a week.

Delay when typing in Safari, the first character is always missing.

Recently when I go to type in a address or text in the search window, the first first character is always gone. Resulting in me having to back space to the beginning to re-type the first character.
My father is a Mac user too and he experiences the same thing.
Any suggestions?

The problem you described sounds reminiscent of a problem many MacBook, MacBook Pro and even PowerBook G4 users have been experiencing. If you do a Discussions-wide search for the phrase "first key" in quotation marks, you'll get an idea of how wide-spread the problem is. Apple recently released a firmware update for the MacBook and MacBook Pros, but reports of first-key-unrecognition persists.
While I hope your problem isn't of this variety, the point I'm trying to illustrate is that if it is, Apple has yet to pin down a proper fix for it. Until they do though, perhaps some workarounds you can try are banging on a modifier key before typing anything, or clicking twice to ensure focus has been given to a window element and not just the window.

Where did Google Earth go when I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox?

I clicked the popup that upgraded to the latest version of Firefox - and clicked to give it permission to make changes to my computer - and my Google Earth was no longer there. I restored my computer to before I had made the Firefox changes and my Google Earth was there but I got a blank page when I tried to open Firefox. Then I re-downloaded Firefox and Google Earth is gone. I would like to have both. If I have to do without one I would give up Firefox and use Internet Explorer until the problem gets fixed.

I doubt it is a Norton Security problem. Maybe. I solved it by deleting the account and re-installing it.

Clicking on its purchase price again may result in you being charged again. Does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option download it

Yes this is broke. The forum is full of the exact same report. They are working on a fix.

Sometimes the text on a web page is distorted or looks like it overlays other text. Some web sites the text gets totally mis-aligned. The same sites are fine when I use IE. And sometimes, when typing ... the cursor goes awry.

Text is overlaid on text to render the page unreadable. sometimes columns are totally misaligned.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)<br />

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting 'none' as a high value can cause issues like you described.

When typing address and the existing recipient shows up I click on it and hit the tab button. If there is a similar address that I email more frequently it defaults to that.
type mike@ and [email protected] and [email protected] shows up. I click on [email protected] and hit the tab button the system changes it to [email protected] because I email that more frequently.
