HELP! Wireless Internet is Connected, yet is not.

Hello-
I fixed (somehow) this problem on my brother's MacBook a day ago. We are connecting to out internet via wireless connection. Under System Preferences > Network > Location: Wireless, Show: Network Status... It says "AirPort" is connected to the network ******. AirPort has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the Internet."
Now, I tried Assist Me and then Diagnostics on my brothers computer and though it could fix the problem, as it stated, minutes later that message change to AirPort is now connected to the Internet.
Why won't mine work?
Thank you!

Does either of your Macs have a Network Created? Seems the "self-assigned IP address" means that it's connecting to something that doesn't hand out DHCP addies.
What are your settings and numbers in Network>TCP/IP?

  • Wireless and Ethernet connection for U330 not working - Help

I need help with my wireless and ethernet connection for the U330 notebook. I can not connect to the internet since I received my U330 and if I try to connect to a wireless router, it knocks other users off. I called customer service already and they asked me to download the driver on the Lenovo Downloads and Drivers page. The page can not be found when you try to download the drive so I was not sure if there is another place I can download it since customer service mentioned that they will send me a disk which will take some time. Thanks in advance.

Your router may be knocking you due to lots of facts. Those Ensteins suggested drivers reinstall because that's the only thing they know.
Try changing your encryption mode, try adding your laptop's WiFi MAC-adress of whitelist of Route, try disabling firewall, try increase strength of signal.
Driver is located at consumersupport.lenovo.com - do not hesitate to check.

  • Using Bootcamp Windows 7, my wireless internet stays connected most of the time, but occasionally says "no internet access", then reconnects after a period of time. How can I keep a stable connection?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on Bootcamp. I've installed all Windows software, with all the drivers, and my wireless internet works fine. But, every once in awhile, it will say, "no internet access", and I'm unable to do anything until it restores. Like I've said, all the drivers have been installed, and they're both copied onto my desktop, and on a flash drive.
I need to keep a stable connection, because I only use my Windows partition for gaming, and when I get disconnected from the internet, I get booted from the game. Any advice?

what version of bootcamp you use to install all of the driver ?? is it the problem was from the beginning you installed windows or just now ?? or maybe you can try usb wifi to test the windows is not the problem..

  • I am in process of unlocking my iphone and need to restore my phone backed it up already but ituenes will not let me restore keeps telling me ituenes can not get on the internet no connection with is not true cause otherwise you would not have gotten this

I have contacted at&t and they did what was nessary to unlock my phone was told to backup my phone and did that so know I just need to restore my phone with ituens which ituenes will not let me do cause I get message can not connect to cause of no internet connection wich is not true cause other wise you would not have gotten this

Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

  • Iphone 4s both the 3g and wifi appear to be connected yet do not work! Help please?

I've had my iphone 4s for a while, and although I updated to the latest iOS 6.1.3 (I believe?) I've not had any problems with it. However, two days ago I lost the ability to connect to my wifi at home (strangely I can still connect to the wifi at my college) (I've checked the wifi with various other devices and there isn't a problem there) and then today my 3g stopped working entirely too!
I performed a full restore earlier which solved nothing, only now I've lost all of my apps due to the restore and I can't redownload them because I haven't got wifi or 3gs!
If anyone has a similar problem PLEASE help me. I'm really desperate to get my phone sorted as I'm going on holiday soon and I've got my boarding pass on my phone!!!

Have you tried resetting the router at your house?

  • Beam Internet/Laptop Connect Air Card not working properly

We recently upgraded to the ATT Beam aircard as we lost our previous version on vacation. We live in a rural area and using the Laptop USB Connect Card (Beam) is the only access to the internet. When we first activiated it we were able to connect to the internest the first couple of days (Windows 7). Now, the digital read out on the Beam shows "Ready to Connect" but when opening the All Access icon to connect, we either get a "no modem/device detected" or it will say its connected on All Access but the Beam show Ready to Connect and we have no access. I've run the diagnositic too, I've deleted All Acess and reinstalled, I've unplugged and plugged the Beam back in, nothing works, I have not been able to connect to the interet with it at all. I am currently teathering off my cell phone. I'm locked into a 2 year on this Beam since I upgraded and so far its not working. Thoughts?

  • Help please! UD connect datasource can not stay in synch with source table

I have been using UD connect to extract data from Sybase table views for 2 years already. As many who have used UD connect know it is very diffcult to get it to work. But I went through all that and at least it has been working fine except sometimes difficulty transporting. And I am aware of  all major OSS notes about UD Connect.
However this loading error has been driving me crazy. Almost on a daily basis some data loads would fail with error 'DataSource (datasource name) has to be replicated '.
So I re-generated the datasource and activated infosources, test loaded and it all worked fine. Come next morning it  would fail again with the same error.
I talked with DBAs and they swear that no table changes were made overnight. then after it keep happening for several days in a row, I ruled out table change possibilities. Especially when I read this morning the error message:
DataSource (datasource name) does not have the same status as the source system in the Business Information Warehouse.
The time stamp in the source system is 2007.05.01 17:40:59.
The time stamp in the BW system is 2007.05.01 17:39:45.
The timestamp is only less than 2 minute apart.
Can anyone give me any pointers?
I now have a production support problem everyday.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Julian

I am in need to automate the UD Connect process in SAP BI. I am trying to push the data on daily load basis from SQL Server 2005 to SAP BI. I was told to use UD Connect due to some restrictions.
Could you plz let me know how I can automize the UD Connect process. I have a minimum experience configure the RFC destination etc. But that is not enough to go and start the process.
First I wanted to know how the view will be taken it to SAP BI?
Before the view is moving to SAP BI, will the UD Connect converts the view into Flat file and then transfers to SAP BI?
If it converts to flat file, where will it be stored in SAP BI? Is it stores in Application directory of the BI server or something else?
If it not converts into flat file, then how can I automate this process on daily load basis, for this should I write any ABAP program? If yes, please let me know the pseudo code how I can do it?
I am really confusing about the daily load basis.
It would be highly appreciated if you let me know the process.

  • Mifi 2200...Weak signal(not internet) for connecting my wireless devices.

Right now If i set this thing on top of my pc or ps3 it will detect the devices but if I move 5 feet away it looses signal. New to this wireless internet stuff and I'm not really digging the mifi 2200 at all. Is there a device I could buy that would give out a stronger signal then mifi 2200 or a device I could connect to the mifi 2200 that would do the job it's supposed to?

Okay, specify 5' away.  Is it actually that distance and if so, are there any other wireless radio signals bouncing around that may be concentrated in that particular area.  i.e. leapfrog, baby monitors, cordless phones, etc.
Have you fully charged the device?  What computer Operating system do you have? How many devices are connected to the WIFI signal?  Is your PC a laptop or desktop?
The reason I ask is that the MIFI normally has a wide range of broadcast for it's signal and if there are no other possible causes for the signal interruption, you may need to seek replacement.
Also, log into the web interface for the device while you have it in the optimal connection area then move it and check the status on the device for any type of changes in the administration software.  I also need to ask if you are disconnected from the USB cord.  Should be, but gotta ask.

  • For those who constantly lose their wireless internet connection using WRT54G

Ok I was constantly losing my wireless internet connection on my LAN network when using my laptop, I tried everything to no avail, until today. Heres what I did to solve my problem
    1. Upgrade your firmware for the WRT54G to ver.6
    2. Reset your wireless router
    3. Unplug all cables and wires from your Pc and router
    4. Connect your Pc directly to your cable modem and obtain an internet connection
    5. Now transfer files you want to keep from your laptop onto a usb flash drive or burn them to a disk
    6. Reformat your laptop so that it goes back to all factory settings just like when you bought it
    7. When completely done reformatting run software that came with the WRT54G on your desktop pc and follow all instructions, when prompted to type password type the password you last used
    8. Go to your laptop and it should pickup a LAN,click connect, it will ask for the encryption key so type it in(whatever you typed when re-installing your wireless router)
Congratulations you are now back up and running, install files saved earlier back on your laptop and enjoy. This is what I did and it solved my problem as a matter of fact i typed this from my laptop and has not dropped my wireless internet connection yet.
NOTE SAVE ANY AND ALL FILES YOU WANT TO KEEP AS REFORMATTING WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE DATA!
IAM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ERRORS OR PROBLEMS THIS PROCEDURE COULD CAUSE IF DONE INCORRECTLY!

If you bought a version 5 or 6 return it to where you bought and apply the money towards a WRT54GL v1.x  You'll be much happier.  You could spend time online rather than pulling your hair out trying to figure out whats wrong.  I setup 6 Linux based WRT54G's with no issues before I was given the task of setting up a version 6.  Worked for about an hour.  Told the guy to return it for a GL.  Long story short, set it up in a matter of minutes and he was online.  That was 3 weeks ago and he is very happy.

  • Connecting my PDA Palm TX to Verizon wireless internet

I have a PDa Palm TX and recently switched internet service from Comcast to Verizon.  I can't connect to my Verizon wireless internet service.  I do not know which secuirty key setup I need.  Can someone please give me instructions on connecting to Verizon internet.  I have a wireless router and it works fine with my two laptop computers.  Thanks!

Connecting to the internet with your TX should have nothing to do with switching from Comcast to Verizon, but rather the type of security you (or someone else) set on your wireless router.  Also, some types of routers won't work with the TX.  Check the "stickied" thread near the top of this board for tips and "how-to's" about wireless networking issues.
If you don't know how to get into your router settings to check them there, you should be able to see the security settings on your laptop by checking the Network settings.

  • Wireless internet keeps disconnecting. Anyone can fix????

Hi, when I connect wireless internet with airport, it works fine for about 30minutes to an hour. Then it suddenly stops responding even though the airport says that the wireless internet is connected.
Anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi,
I had exact the same issue, my MacBook disconnected every 10 to 15 minutes and that made me crazy.
I have an application named CleanApp that suppose to uninstall in safe and clean way your applications. There are an option to clean your cache files and I did it and since then my wireless connection works smoothly and fine with no more issues. I do not know why but maybe this could work for you.
Here you have a link to CleanApp (http://www.synium.de/products/cleanapp/index.html)

  • NEED HELP, WIRELESS CONNECTED BUT CAN NOT CONNECT TO INTERNET

SOMEWHAT COMPUTER CHALLENGEDMY LINKSYS SAYS IT IS CONNECTED WITH GOOD CONNECTION, BUT I CAN NOT GET MY WIRELESS COMPUTER TO CONNECT TO INTERNET, BY HARDWIRED COMPUTER CONNECTS FINE. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WERE I NEED TO START?

If you want some input from Linksys you have to contact Linksys support. This is a community forum...
    Check the following please:
    1. The computer wired to the router has internet access.
    2. On the computer wired open http://192.168.1.1/ in your browser. The username remains empty the default password is "admin". You may have changed the password during initial setup.
    3. Click on Wireless. Take a note of the Wireless Network Mode (mixed, b only, g only), the Wireless Network Name, Channel, and whether SSID broadcasts are enabled or not. If you still have the default network name "linksys", please change it to something unique and save the settings for this page.
    4. Next, click on Wireless Security and note the settings in this tab. It will be easier for troubleshooting if you post the current wireless settings noted.
    5. Now use the wireless computer (if it was the one wired to the router before, unplug it) and let it search for wireless networks. It should find a wireless network with the "Wireless Network Name" from 3. Try to connect to this network. If it asks for a passphrase or key, you have to enter the passphrase from 4. for WPA/WPA2. If you have WEP encryption in 4. you have to enter "Key 1" not the passphrase!
    6. If the connection fails please posts the exact error message you see.
    7. If the connection succeeds, try to open a URL in the internet, e.g. http://www.google.com/
    8. If it does not work open a command prompt window: Start - Run... - "cmd". Enter "ipconfig /all". Copy the output of this command into your next post.

  • WRT54GS WIreless not connected, yet connected

My WRT54GS wireless connections wont go through, as it clearly says, Not Connected, yet my network connections will show that I am connected to the internet and indeed, I can browse the web. My biggest problem with this is that eventually (around 10 minutes or so) it will disconnect from the internet, which is a problem since i play online games. Anyone ever had this happen?

under the network connections , what all connections do you see....ensure that any other connection except for the wireless network connection is disabled..
the only medium of connection should be the wireless network connection... check this and let me know if more help need on this issue ...

  • Hi there can anyone help. I am connected to the internet by ethernet but my connection keeps timing out and my network diagnostics shows all green and network connection ok but still no internet connection. the other wireless laptop in my flat works well.

Hi there can anyone help. I am connected to the Internet by Ethernet but my connection keeps timing out and my network diagnostics shows all green and network connection ok but still no Internet connection. the other wireless laptop in my flat works well. Could the other wireless laptops being used in my flat be affecting my connection. what can I do to get connected, keep connected. Thanks for any ideas out there.

My network connected for a few hours then went back to timing out. I have not changed anything. However there four additional laptop users in my family who do not seem to be having any problems using their wireless connection. Could their film and music downloads be causing the timing out of my connection and if so is there a way I could prioritizes my computer or limit their use?
