Help with 1280 Epson Printer Driver

When I loaded Leopard, I chose to load all the Epson drivers, when I actually only need a driver for the Epson Stylus Photo 1280. I have an intel machine and I'm forced to do a reinstall (whole other issue) and I'm hoping I can just install the driver that I need from the Epson site. Does anyone know if this driver supports an intel Mac AND LEOPARD?

Thanks, I appreciate any help here.

Hi
Don't know unless OP replies, I have RX425 & downloaded driver from Epson website. What model do you have?

  • Problem with Latest Epson Printer Driver Update

I installed the Epson printer driver update that came out today, but it made absolutely no difference. My Epson printer is still using a the same old Epson driver plus Gutenprint. There is no other option. I don't get it. What's the point of installing the update if the printer is still stuck with Gutenprint? My printer (Epson Stylus Photo R340) is supported according to Apple's list.

Thanks for that tip, John. I found the "Epson SP R340 series" driver by searching for it as you suggested.
    Happy to help Alan.
HOWEVER, I cannot print with this driver. I get the following error message when I try to print:
    Error: Library/Printers/EPSON/InketPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpll.app/Contents/MacOS/r astertoescpll failed
This seems common with the Epson drivers, there are several posts here with that problem. Some users have had success deleting the printer from Print & Fax Prefs and adding it again using the Epson (non-Gutenprint) driver. Others have had to delete the <hard drive>/Library/Printers/EPSON and /Library/Caches/Epson folders, re-download the update, then re-add the printer.
I would try the first one first since it's the easiest and you already have the update installed. If that doesn't work, the second should.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need help with configuring a Printer Driver in Oracle apps

    Hi,
We have set of interfaces/concurrent jobs which are programed to send the output file to file location1. Now we need to direct the output for all these jobs to file location2. The idea is to not modify the existing code, but have configuration in place which will re-direct the output files to the new “file location2”, once the concurrent job run is complete.
We have come across “Using Dummy Printer driver” option wherein we created a dummy printer driver with arguments as below and attached this printer to all these concurrent jobs.
    mv <file location1>/$PROFILES$.TITLE <file location2>
This option is working fine if both the file locations are hard coded. But both these locations are configured in 2 separate profile options and the filepath would change from once Oracle instance to another.
We are looking for solutions where we can pass the profile option value to this printer driver instead of hardcoding it in the argument.
Also, please suggest any other solution to move the output files to a different location.
Please note that our client is on Oracle On-Demand environment (apps – 11.5.10) and hence a shell script cannot be used for this.
    Thanks,
    Kiranmayi.

    Hello Mark,
I can't support the netopia router/modem, but I would think there should be an admin guide for the configuration. If it is a modem/router and you said there is rules for allowing or blocking services, which sounds like access list you should be able to create a rule for the client you want to block on the modem/router to prevent it from talking to the internet.
If you want to insure no outside security threats can make it to the computer staticly assign an IP address but don't give it a default gateway address. The client will not be able to talk to any other network but its own. It sounds like you only have one vlan or a flat network so this should work, but if you need to be able to have this computer in the future talk to other networks internally then it isn't a viable solution. Blocking at the modem/router would be the only solution.
The SG300-08 Switch you could setup an ACL to block that client from talking to the modem/router, but the potential for causing valid traffic from being blocked in your own network grows.
To create this rule you would first
    go to Access Control
Create a MAC Base ACL (give it a meaning full name)
Create 2 a MAC BASE ACE
    Rule 1
    Priority 10
    Action Deny
    Destination Any
    Source User Defined
MAC address of client wanting to be blocked
    Apply
    Rule 2
    Priority 20
    Action Permit
    Destination Any
    Source Any
    Apply
Bind the ACL to a port
Make sure to only bind the ACL to the port that connects to the router/modem.

  • Need help with stubborn Epson printer!

My Epson Stylus Photo 900 printer suddenly behaves this strange: When I try to print a document (any document from any application), the Activity window for the printer shows green on the "Start jobs" for a second, but then turns red (stopping the job) and places the document in the que. If I push the "Start jobs" -button, again the same thing happens. I just can't print!
This happens only with my G5 2x2,5H Mac, not on my MacBook (when I connect it instead to test) which prints without interuptions. And also, if I open the Print Utility software and print a Nozzle check on the G5, the page is printing! I have the latest Mac OS on both computers, and I have installed the latest Epson drivers for both Mac's.
So, I am soon getting crazy, because I can't find any reson behind the behaviour! Any help is very welcome
    Helge K.
    G5 2xGHz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Thanks for the help. I didn't know about the "Reset printer system" in the Printer Utility, but this solved the problem (What I did - which didn't work - was to delete the printer, delte preference files, adding the printer again, but this didn't work.)

  • Epson Perfection 2400 Scanner issue with Epson Print Driver 2.4.1 Update

After the Epson Print Driver 2.4.1 update, my scanner quit working with Image
Capture, which hangs during the overview scan. The scanner makes a pass over
the document, but Image Capture just sits for a while saying "Overview Scan..."
and then fails with a generic error message.
I tried the suggestion in [11993273|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11993273&#11993273 ], but that did not work for me.
    Any other ideas?

Thank's for the suggestion, but no help.
It is not straight-forward to uninstall the driver because Apple installer
does not offer an uninstall option. I resorted to
    sudo find /Library -iname "epson" -print -exec mv {} ~/Desktop/epson \;
in the terminal. Reboot. Ran EPSONPrinterDrivers.pkg. Ran Disk Utility's
Repair Permissions. Reboot. Added scanner back in the System Preferences.
Opened Image Capture, the overview scan started and a few minutes later
    *Scanner reported and error*
    An error occured during scanning.

  • How to help Mac to find printer driver?

Using an older Epson Stylus Photo R1800. I used Epson's downloadable 'un-install' program in an attempt to start with a clean slate on my new machine (MBP-retina). Never particularly happy w/ print results on previous Mac OS's. Always thought there might be some type of double-processing going on between multiple drivers (if that's even possible?).
Epson's driver site says the latest incarnation must be gotten from the Mac App Store. When trying to set-up the printer, the MAS will find and download an 'update' for a driver, but not download a driver. Went back to Epson's driver site and downloaded their latest downloadable driver for this printer. When I go to 'add' the printer I choose 'other' as my option to find the driver. Tried any and all parts of the downloaded 'Epson' file at user/HD/Applications/Library/Printers/Epson, but mountain lion will not recognize any thing as the driver and goes about searching in the MAS.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get through or around this? Thanks in advance.

    Bruce,
Afraid I have no link to post. I simply poked around through the batch files that came with Epsons printer driver package until I found something big enough that I figured it had to be the driver. I copied that particular file to desktop then used it as the 'other' driver source when adding the printer to the system.
I ran a couple of prints to see that if it worked. Seems I might still have issues. The prints are ok, but not what I'd call good. But then I've never ever been able to get what I'd call 'great' prints from my set-up. Always thought there might be some kind of double-processing going on. I use Lightroom, and always have had to manipulate my jpgs, often to extremes, to get something that even looked like a keeper. Stupid I know, but I've been doing this so long that I've just accepted it as normal operating procedure.
Sorry, I know this doesn't help much. If I have some time this afternoon I may try to play with it some more to see if I can work out the bugs. If I come up with something that works, I'll post my findings.

  • Printing problems after installing the Epson Printer Driver 2.16

Has anyone experienced any problems after installing the Epson Printer Driver 2.16 through Software Update? I am having problems printing. It denotes an error message, specifically the rastertoescpii.app isn't working?

Oops, wanted everyone to know that the driver that Software Update downloaded and installed was 2.18, not 2.16 (which was the last one that worked for me). I just got done downloading the 2.18 driver directly from the Apple support website and installing it. Guess what? My printer is now working and everything is fine. If you are having issues, I suggest this route. Guess I solved my own problem, but hope this helps someone else.

  • Epson Printer Driver Update 2.18 and Stylus Photo 1400

My Mac Mini was unable to communicate with my Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer, after installing the recent Epson Printer Driver Update 2.18. I am running Mac OS 10.7.5. Reinstalling the original driver from the Epson CD got me back on track, but, a test print from the installer did not work without additional software from Apple's servers. Avoid Update 2.18, if you are using similar equipment.

Since updating to EPSON Printer Software Update 2.18, I have not been able to print to my EPSON Stylus DX6000 (under OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard).  The printer dialog box says
    Error:/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpll.app/Contents/ MacOs/rastertoescpll failed
Using Time Machine, I restored rastertoescpll.app from a time before I upgraded to the 2.18 drivers, but that didn't work.  I then restored the entire EPSON folder from
    /Library/Printers/
from a time before I upgraded to the 2.18 drivers, and that still didn't work.
I was not able to find the Update 2.17 on the Apple site, but I was able to find it on the www.techspot.com site.
I downloaded EPSON Printer Software Update 2.17 from
    http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/16158/
    This downloaded EPSONPrinterDrivers2.17.dmg
I dragged the EPSON folder to the Trash, and emptied the Trash.  I then ran the installer for the 2.17 drivers.  After switching the printer off and on again, I was finally able to print.

  • Epson Printer Driver v8.31 not showing up on my OSX 10.4.11

When installing a new Epson Printer Driver v8.31 for my Workforce 630 all-in-one printer on my G5 OSX 10.4.11 Power MAC, along with Epson support on the phone, it is not showing up in my Utilities folder. Epson said I needed to contact MAC about changing some settings. The printer was working fine yesterday but not printing today .... like it wasn't there. After trying several things with Epson Support they said I should download the new driver and, as I said, with their guidance it wasn't showing up in my Utilities Folder. When I called MAC Support they referred me here to avoid paying $50 for their support. Any ideas?

Whew, Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Then remove the instance of the old one & try adding again.
    Might try these two...

  • Snow Leopard Updated Epson Printer Driver for Epson R800 - poor colour !

I just installed through software update the latest epson printer drivers and, then, deleted the Epson R800 from my printer list and added it back in (with the new printer driver). I did find a slightly different printer dialog box and found the setting of "presets" worked now (it did not previously).
However, when I printed out of Adobe Lightroom 2.6, using a custom paper profile and no colour management, that the print was faded, the colours were washed out. The result was unacceptable. After a few attempts, I looked in the Library folder, printers, epson and found two folders labeled, "inkjet printer" and "inkjet printer2". I determined that "inkjetprinter2" was the new folder and deleted it and deleted/added in my Epson r800 (using "inkjetprinter" folder. The resulting print was perfect.
So, my conclusion is that the new driver is not functioning as it should and I would warn users to be prepared for problems. Am I missing something here? Could I have done the updating of the printer driver and printer differently?

You may need to recalibrate you monitor color settings.
One of the things that changed from 10.5 to 10.6 was gamma; if you are using calibration from 10.5 or earlier, the gamma change will throw off print colors.
Personally, on my last 2 epson printers (R300, RX685), I've configured to let the printer color manage, and used the Vivid setting.
Have not had any off colors, etc.

  • Epson Printer Driver/Apple Update Conflict?

The Apple Epson Driver 2.15 update (Snow Leopard) was in conflict with the installed Epson  Printer Driver on Epson WF-2530 causing a permanent printing failure. Epson reported that "their staff was working with Apple  Staff" to eliminate the conflict. Epson Technicians warned not to install 2.15 or I would lose printing capability again. Recently an Apple Epson Driver download was announced (2.15.1 @30.9 MB). Does that eliminate the problem? Should it be downloaded?

If I were in your position I would not rush to download the new update. Presumably it was intended to address the conflict, but if you restored your printer to operating condition and it is now working acceptably, I'd be inclined to let others be the guinea pigs.
Determining the reason for the update will be difficult or impossible. Apple generally provides a brief, though not necessarily complete, list of problems OS X updates are intended to address, but such information is not generally provided for printer driver updates: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
You might try an Epson user support site.

  • Epson Printer Driver

Since getting a Mac, I haven't been able to print directly onto CD's from my Epson Artisan 835 printer.
I contacted Epson support and was told that I needed to download the Epson Mac printer driver and not the AirPrint driver that comes with Yosemite. They said that this driver is available on the app store but I see absolutely nothing on the store indicating an Epson printer driver.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to successfully print CD's on an Epson Artisan printer? If so, how did you resolve it?
    Thanks.

The Artisan 835 is shown as supported on OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support, so if installing the drivers doesn't work, try using the driver for the 837.

  • 10.7.5, MacBook Pro Why can't I update many things including my Epson printer driver?

10.7.5, MacBook Pro Why can't I update many things including my Epson printer driver?

Not sure. I'd have to be sitting in front of it to tell what is really going on. Do you have a valid internet connection?
Make a note of the updates then go to the Apple Download website and download one or two of them and then try to install them.
You have to do a search for them.

  • Installed Epson printer driver from two places..

I recently upgraded to a new MacBook and Snow Leopard. I use an Epson printer & scanner, and an HP all-in-one at work. I didn't realize that 10.6.2 had built-in drivers and installed the Epson and HP drivers & software from the company websites (not apple.com). Then I saw the December Epson printer driver update on apple.com and downloaded that...
Do I now have a bunch of repeat installs?
    Thanks!

    Hello Elise:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Do I now have a bunch of repeat installs?
    Short answer - maybe.
If the printers are working properly, I would not be concerned. If they are not, you could do a "find" (include system files in the search) and see what you have. You could also reinstall OS X 10.6 over your current system and then run software update. I would not do that (time involved) unless you are having problems.
